I was an Healer most of my time....

But when I played with my Blaster, I liked PowerBlast PowerPush
https://i1094.photobucket.com/albums/i451/BlueDalek/PowerPush_zpse465d383.gif

It saved me,as well as helping protect fellow players on a team a few times thru buying time to escape villains that were more powerful, or in great numbers...Especially in tunnels or Carnival villains with their mind holds.

Thunder Glove

This is a tough question.  One of the things I really love about CoH is how well entire powersets worked together (internally and with the primary/secondary of choice).

.... really, though, if I had to name just one....

Thunder Strike

It wasn't the strongest attack in my arsenal, and I know that slow animation was hated by some, but I loved that antici........ wait for it..............pation, as my namesake character slooooowly rose into the air, raised his fists into the air, and WHAM — giant AoE burst of lightning all around me.  I loved it the first time I used it back in 2010, and I loved it just as much when the game shut down last year.  Whenever I visualize Thunder Glove in action, Thunder Strike is the attack I usually picture him doing.

(Oddly, the only two other melee characters I got to 50 were a Stone Melee Tanker and an Energy Melee Brute, both of whom had the same animation for one of their attacks.  I didn't like it as much on either of them, though, due to the lack of lightning)

General Idiot

I just realised I missed one when I originally posted here. Trip Mine. I cannot adequately express in words how much many of my friends and I loved that power, so have a screenshot instead:

Yes, that's Nemesis in the final RWZ mission, in the cutscene that plays when he spawns. You may however notice he's not actually in the place he usually spawns at. What happened was we had two traps corruptors and a devices blaster (If I remember rightly) on the team, and before we attacked Hro'Dtohz all three of them set out 10-15 tripmines each on the spot Nemesis would spawn. So when he spawned, he got hit by 30+ explosions at once and the combined knockback procs on each one added up to enough knockback to toss him across the room, even through AV protection. Not to mention knocking off a good half his health.

The best part though, was the game sat there for a good 30 seconds or more doing nothing while we made jokes about having planted so many trip mines that we exploded the server and they were running about trying to repair it. After that it did actually recover and play the cutscene out though, which was kind of awesome on its own.

Yezz, thinking outside the box...Nice post about your Nemesis battle !

CoH was cool that one could come up with such tactics and change outcomes, assuming they were good ones....especially dealing with Hamidon.

Chance Jackson

Poison Trap from the Traps set. Hardcore regen debuff and it could temporarily hold AVs, Monsters and Giant Monsters automatically turning off toggles even on the hardest targets
Chance Jackson was my Global, I mostly played on Triumph Toons: LIEGE CHEETATRON X - Bots/Traps/Mu lvl 50 +3; DOWN RIGHT FIERCE - SJ/Fire/Soul Brute lvl 50 +3; FIGHT OF YOUR LIFE -KM/Nin/Fire Stalker lvl 50 +3; TIME MAY CHANGE ME - Time/Sonic/Dark; INFERNAL SAMURAI - DB/Fire/Fire lvl 50 +3 replaced by "NITORYU" - DB/WP probably a brute; THUNDEROUS BRUTE - Elec/Shield Scrapper; And Many More!

Hmmm, a single favorite combat power?  I don't know if I can pick just one - there were so many cool game effects and so many eye-catching animations (e.g. fireball is really pretty, and so is Energy Burst, etc).   Not sure this qualifies but my fave "combat power" would have to be 1. blaster's Defiance (mezz me all you like! I can still do stuff!) as well as 2. using Howling Twilight not merely rez but often to debuff an AV/EB and minions, and thus save lives in advance (bwahaha!) - always followed up with Hasten, of course, just in case Rez is needed.

I guess I'm gonna have to go with Eclipse.  Not only could you cap your resistance to everything with just five enemies, you could also fully replenish your endurance with it.
Warshades don't take Alphas.  They give Alphas.

Taceus Jiwede

I would have to say Power Burst.  Especially when you could change the graphic so you just one palmed a face full of energy into a baddy.  It was basically a quick short range snipe.  I use to love waking up to minions and just power bursting them from full life to 0. Close second would be trip mine or Nova.  Nova was a pain with the knockback.  But if it was slotted right you were knocking back corpses.  Trip mine was great too.  Cloaking device + Smoke Grenade + SS.  You could smoke a group of baddies and drop a trip mine right in the middle of them.  Follow it up with explosive blast.  Next group

Felderburg

Blaze was my favorite, on my main Fire / Eng Blaster. It was a one-shot doomsday device! I especially loved it in PvP with old Defiance - get my health down low, hit some boosts, BAM! Dead villain!

Total Focus was also fun, just for the animation. Kiting NPCs with it was also pretty neat.

Air Superiority was another favorite - everything about it was great. Animation, sound, the enemies falling out of the sky...
I used CIT before they even joined the Titan network! But then I left for a long ol' time, and came back. Now I edit the wiki.

Unlike Highlander.. this is not a situation for me where there can be only one..

One of my favorites was Ice Patch..it sure helped my squishies' ability to solo.

Oh baby.  GANG WAR.  It was so much fun to mob the screen with pipe, bat, and knife wielding thugs to watch them beat the everloving crap out of some Longbow boss or whatever.

ROBOKiTTY

[War Mace.Crowd Control]. WM/EA so strong and pretty.

[Dual Blades. One Thousand Cuts] and [Dual Blades.Typhoon's Edge] are less practical but visually my favourite.
Have you played with a KiTTY today?

Spirit shark for me.....nothing like firing off a spirit shark right after an assassin's strike in pvp  ;)

My level 50 gravity control/force field controller, Gravi-Metrik, joined a Lady Grey task force, and I learned a neat application for Gravi's Wormhole power.

When the TF leader noticed Gravi casting gravity holds during the first battle, he exclaimed, "Gravity? Oh *&#$!" At first, I thought he was expressing dislike for having a gravity controller on the team; but, later I found out, no, that's not what he meant. As I soon gathered, he was excited about having a gravity controller.

He typed a private tell to me asking, "Have you ever wormholed Hami?" I replied, "No, can't say I have."

He went on to explain, during one of the last missions of the task force, when we faced the weakened Hamidon, he wanted me to pop two yellow inspirations and use my Wormhole power to teleport Hamidon from the center of the mitos to an exterior location.

So, that's what I did. It worked. With Hamidon removed from the center of the mitos, it was easier for the team to defeat the mitos.

Then, the TF leader asked Gravi to wormhole Hami to the ground. So, Gravi once again used his Wormhole power to teleport Hami, this time from a hovering position to the ground, allowing melee fighters to attack normally instead of using jetpacks.

Gravi had a crafted level 50 invention origin Accuracy enhancement in Wormhole. Evidently, that was good enough, because the second time, he didn't have any yellow inspirations.

All the better with group flight. ;D Fly my pretties!

Anyways, mine was Shadow Maul ( and Sands of Mu). Sure, nothing was worse than hearing wif-wif-wif-wif, but when it would connect it made my inner super yell for joy. Nothing beats a good ol' Bif and Bam sound effect in a hero game.

KingsGambit

Cheap tho it might've been, there was an immense satisfaction in successfully firing off a placate/assassin's strike on an enemy to see the big hit come in.

I did also enjoy the Lightning Rod/Shield Charge attacks. My mace/shield tank in particular, with such a long cooldown on shield charge made it very satisfying to use. I'd usually open with it, but then it would come down to using other attacks until it became ready again. Waiting for the cooldown, waiting, waiting then BAM. Watching the mobs get knocked up en masse, gotta love it.
