What Would Your First New Character Be?

First, I set up my question with several assumptions. 1) CoX returns, whether in maintenance mode or some other state. 2) None of our character data is available, whether due to erasure, being lost in some warehouse, incomplete, or what have you, such that everyone is forced to start from scratch. 3) As compensation for lost data, in some manner we all have access to all costume packs, emotes, ATs, Vet rewards and just about anything else, whether we pay a one-time price or have it handed to us. 4) Issue 24 is pushed live, even if CoX is in maintenance mode.

All that said, you're at square one. What character would you choose to create/recreate first? One of your old favorites? A new powerset that you've been wanting to try? When replying, please give a little detail. Details might include AT, powersets, whether you preferred playing this character Red, Blue or Gold, did you mostly solo or team with this character, and what do you think made playing this character the most fun for you?

As for myself, I'm torn. The first character I stuck with (may or may not have been my first 50) was an NRG/NRG Blaster. Soloing was lots of fun as the KB kept me relatively safe without screwing up teammates' fun. The look of (most of) the NRG blasts always made me smile with how powerful they seemed to be to me. With the I24 changes, I can see myself rerolling this character, with improvements, and going to town.

The other character I believe I had the most fun with (although the cluster of alts that could fit this definition was rather densely packed) was a Katana/ Scrapper. I think the secondary was /SR, but might be misremembering, and might change it anyway, dunno. Loved the chopping, slicing, spinning animations, as well as the mowin' 'em down aspect, all while being much safer than the Glass Cannon blasters. I wonder how changing the AT from Scrapper to Brute might change that character's gameplay/progression. I look forward to trying it out.

So. Now it's your turn. I daresay no one on these boards or reading this post doesn't have a favorite character. Let's hear about yours, especially what was great about them. I need ever more alt ideas!

I'd love to have my WS back, but if I had to unlock the epics again, I'd like to try bio or rad armors.  I'd also like to try rad/kin corruptor.   I loved my stone/fire tank (first toon and first 50), but don't think I'd run that back to 50 as my first project.

I think It'd be a mashup between either the very first character I ever created all the way back at launch; an electricity/electricity blaster called Malfunction.....Or perhaps a recreation of some of my "lost" characters. Lost in this instance refering to old characters who i remember a single aspect of and a small portion of time playing as them, but that I can't remember in their entirety.

It would be my main from the old game a fire/fire blaster, than I would start remaking some of my old cox characters and remake a few of my champions characters

I would recreate my elec/elec blaster. She was the very first character I built and had a long RP history in the game. I'm looking forward to expanding the circle of characters she interacts with and growing her story even more.

I never even thought of this!  Man its been so long since I unlocked epic's I forgot they had to be unlocked!

I really, really want my Peacebringer back. She was to be the latest incarnation of a toon after RP reasons made that so her powers would be realigned (original form had been elec/elec blaster, conversion to an elec/elec brute, so it seemed a logical place inbetween) and I got her to 50 in preparation for the storyline, up to +3... but I was going to IO her out and use her more heavily once plot hit.

Unfortunately most of my SG kinda stopped logging in, and I'd planned for that to happen in the following February anyway, so that never happened. I'd always wanted to like PB, but had never gotten one into the 30s where they really start to shine.

Humanform PBs were really fun. I wouldn't want to be constantly exemplared down to lower levels on one, but there was a flexibility I really enjoyed. Some soft control, healing, survivability, damage... It really felt exciting to play. The new set stuff probably means I'd be able to fit a little more mez protection on there too - and that sounds REALLY awesome.

Do we get to choose obviously not ready sets like Wind? If so, it might be a Wind/Martial Dom.

If not, probably a NA/DP or DP/NA, not sure which.

I'd probably do an ff/ice blast defender.  ice was always nice on the blaster and ff had its uses both in team and solo.  I've seen some well built bubble defs that could hold their own in a solo fight.

Thugs/Dark and Bots or Demon/Storm MM's will probably be first. I can replicate the feel of other AT's with other games, but never have I experienced anything similar to a MM. Now that could easily be due to lack of MMO exposure. I have a feeling I'll be a raging altaholic though >.> I want an ice/rad corruptor, some type of scrapper/brute... Someone please open a hotline, I'm already second guessing my choices.

Hard question.   Trying to pick between one of my favorite 5 Controllers or 2 Masterminds.   Maybe the Fire/Kin so I could get the others rolling quicker after that.

I have not decided I know for sure I will have about 5 scrappers created and level them all up and get them IO'd to the gills like several of my others. I been goign through mids like crazy making builds and still have not settled on everything.

Do I want to make another scrapper with  fire I had a fire/sd at 50 and soloed a lot of av's with him and got a fire/reg to 35; I know I will make a shield scrapper but which one I am leaning towards a dm/sd because despite lacking aoe I love me so dark melee I did have a dm/sr and a dm/da previously. That has me leaning dm/sd with shield charge and spring attack looks like fun plus it should be fun soloing av's with an attack that heals 

I love dual blades I had a db/ea and db/elec I hated elec loved EA but I am thinking making him a db/inv this time


Bio armor never got to play I was pumped I was ready to spend some extra money and then the announcement  I am still debating ma/ba fire/ba with an outlier of spines/ba

The ea had a db/ea my first toon was katana/sr I am torn between spines/ea or katana/ea

then finally will power not got one to 50 I got like two of them in the 30's in the past. I am looking at maybe war mace/wp

I love scrappers and used a lot of the secondaries but my last two scrappers where /sd and /EA and after playing a scrapper with a taunt aura it is just hard to play a secondary with out one just made my play so much more enjoyable but I am looking at provoke since they buffed it which may make me rethink some of the older sets like /sr etc

Right now that is where I am looking all subject to change as I continue to poor over mids and calculate numbers as I read through the scrapper web archives to review some of the stuff I forgot about and wrap my head around ppm change to procs

I think my head is going to exploded if we get this game back

Assuming I could get my name back, which might be difficult, it would be my Inv/SS tanker.

I'd be disappointed not to get my name, but not shocked.

Other than that, three others would take priority - my Plant/Storm troller,  MA/Shield Scrap,  and SS/Fire Brute.

I'm actually not that great at it.  I was one of those weird people who actually played Fire/Kin cause I liked it!     Hoping to get some tips from those who do it well if we have to start over.

Tips on PL..

make a toon that kills fast..
find good xp mobs that die fast.. preferably on an easy to navigate map.
Set difficulty to medium.. not too easy.. not to hard..

rinse and repeat

But in terms of totally new, never tried before...
