What Would Your First New Character Be?

I'm actually not that great at it.  I was one of those weird people who actually played Fire/Kin cause I liked it!     Hoping to get some tips from those who do it well if we have to start over.

I've actually been pondering a Water/Kin to see if I could make him into a Farmer, PL specialist... ya know.

Brawl/? Brute.

I've done the WP version.  I would toy with the idea of making one with Fire or Rad or Dark or?  But the beauty of Brawling Humiliator being a Brawl/WP brute was that because Brawl was set on Auto, you basically 'set him and forget him.' As in you target the enemy, hit 'follow', and then sit back and wait.  When that guy is done, target the next, follow, and wait.  Repeat. Not a lot of management except the occasional firing off (after he got it) of Strength of Will, or the occasional inspiration.  Maybe he'd get hit with a quick mezz that turned off Rise to the Challenge, so he'd have to have that put back on. 

That's it.  I then just chatted and watched to be sure he didn't get in trouble/didn't need moving to the next mob, 'cause Rage, y'know.

So yeah.  Brawler is a must.  Have to do it.

Past that I don't really know.  The Dawn Sisters are a must.  As is my Claws/WP scrapper.  And the only blaster I liked, the Water/Ice one.  Of course, it'd be a hoot to see if I could recreate the absolutely dependent Defender, the one that could not solo to save her ass, but would be the most helpful teammate evar.  I'm not sure I'd use rad/ICE again.  Probably pick something even worse for her offense, if possible, and something better for her team help stuff, if possible.

However, I do know my overall main is the SS/WP brute, so after I do BH again, he'd be next up for sure.

And then, after those (which were all 50s+).... Hm.  I dunno.

Guess we'll find out.  I hope.

I have  a list too... All remakes...

1. Energy/Enery blaster. My 1st toon from when I first logged in in 2004.
2. Fire/Storm controller. Hands down my favourite ball of chaos.
3. BS/Shield scrapper or my Invul/SJ tank. Both were a ton of melee fun and stupidly tough.
4. Energy/Kin corruptor. Just so much fun.
5. The experiment that dies when the shutdown occurred... My Storm/Energy defender.

Those top three though will take most of my time for the first year I reckon.

It would depend on if we were to get the game back including i24. If we did it would have to be and energy/martial blaster.

Then I have to recreate Rodney Royce, my staff/invuln scrapper, and Del Mansfield, street justice (or maybe elec or kinetic)/regen.

I would make so many! The blaster, Safehouse, has to come first though!

Energy/Energy blaster (for soloing) and maybe one of the other proliferated blaster power sets I'd never tried, like rad, for teaming.

My first new character would be whatever I could level up quickly so I could unlock VEATs and get my Crab Spider back.

I'd feel obligated to recreate my namesake first (Elec/Dev Blaster,) followed by rapidly recreating as many of my old characters as I had open slots for.

Then buying more slots for the others.

Then buying slots for the roughly dozen and a half new characters I've had parked in mids/Icon since shutdown just waiting for a chance to party...

Interesting how many of us rolled an En/En Blaster as our first toon.

Wish it was my 20th toon though...I had no clue what I was doing and didn't enjoy it nearly as much as subsequent characters.   Got him to 50 and still rarely played him.

It was my third, but the first two got really dusty after that.

I would MAKE all my mains so I got their names:
Fire/Time Corruptor (This would actually be my first 50)
Fire/Fire/ Brute (My AE farmer)
Earth/Kin Troller (My farmer)


Then:
Earth/Psi Dominator
Water/Dark Corruptor
Elect/Elect Scrapper
Fire/Fire Scrapper
War Mace/Inv Brute
Empathy/Fire Defender
Mind/Empathy Controller

4) Issue 24 is pushed live, even if CoX is in maintenance mode.

This is the biggest caveat for me. I think it's not likely. They can either go with a proven and stable I23 version, or a version that never went live and is guaranteed to require a lot more maintenance.

Overall I've pretty much decided on a SS/Fire brute. If we start with nothing, influence will once again be a very important commodity. I think it'll be important for your first toon to be a powerhouse, so he'll be able to "finance" all your next toons. And I can't think of a better powerhouse toon. My main in the old game was a Fire/SS tank. He was godlike, and I think a brute would be even better overall.

But if we really do get I24, I may just have to go with a remake of my Fire/EM blaster. I24 made him into probably the most fun toon in my arsenal.

I'll make my Bio Armor/Kinetic Melee Tank for my first new character. But, I don't know what server I want to put him in Virtue or Freedom. My main server is Freedom but, sometimes I play on Virtue. I'm still debating what I'm gonna do. Can somebody help me decide?

Hmmm, after I'm done recreating old chars, my very first new char will be an elec/elec scrapper followed by a Dark/Fire Dominator... or maybe an Earth/Dark Troller... or maybe... gah, I knew this was going to happen

I'm considering a stone/ss Tank, a Street Justice/wp brute(already ran one to 50 and beyond) , a dual pistol/ mental manipulation blaster( because I was challenged to it) and a fire/dark corrupter. Then Ill go full blown altaholic.

Assuming we get the entire game back (with CoV and Going Rouge), I would first make my Dual Pistols/Devices Blaster and my Robotics/Pain Dom MM.

I would then play from there

I think I'll go in this order:

Street Justice / Willpower scrapper
Thugs / Traps MM (Oh Gang War, how I miss you)
Dual Blade / Nin stalker
A Widow, once I get access to them
Dark Melee / Willpower brute
Water / Ice blaster
Dark / Dark corrupter

And that's for starters.  I'd most likely roll toon after toon after toon!

What Supermax said echoes my thoughts exactly. My first toon will be something that can bankroll all of the other toons that I make later. I've farmed with both an SS/Fire Brute and an Elec/Fire Brute before. While the SS/Fire may have been slightly faster, I enjoyed using the Elec/Fire more mainly due to Lightning Rod. Loved using it whenever it was up, and I don't think I'll ever get tired of its animation.
