Looks like they raised 1.1 million in 2011, I'd imagine they'd get that or more this year. I read a tweet (from emperor cole of all people) about an individual with a disability in need of help so I'm going to try and scrounge up something. Pay it forward and all that.

I'm late in seeing this but am in!  I'm contacting my 7 and 8 year veteran player-friends who stopped playing shortly after the "sunset" announcement.  Here's hoping both SGs can get behind this initiative (and I think at least a few will if not most since it's heroic, costs only what one can afford, and provides PURPOSE - the main reason most gave for not logging in to play: the painful reminder of the impending loss combined with no goals or purpose.)

Note:  I've un-stuck this topic and stuck a list of all the events planned for October 20 at the top so that we don't overload the first page of topics with stickies.  This doesn't mean the event isn't still planned or that it's any less important.  Continued promotion of the event is encouraged.

Team COH is currently ranked #23 with $3,931 - we are now $8 away from #22. Looks like some other teams are trying to give us a run for our money :) I know we will persevere and by October 20th hopefully be in the top 10! :) We just gotta keep spreading the word on this worthy cause.

Don't think you have to give a lot to make a difference. For some teammates a $5 donation would be a doubling of their total! and chipping in the $15 VIP subscription that got cancelled for Oct (or November) would be around a 50% increase for 1/2 of the folks on the team!

As a suggestion and encouragement, if you want to do anything to put your money where your mouth is and haven't donated yet, $5 probably won't break anybody's bank. If you're unsure to whom to donate, peruse the team members and donate to the lowest-total person at the time you search. That will have an evening-out effect.

A donation of whatever you find to be nearly nothing from enough of us will make a big difference.

I am going to recommend the formation of an official media day team...with 14 hours of travel I can not play for 24 hours but I bet with mentors, media reps and a collection jar...I suspect we will make a valid team :) collectively.

That sounds like a nice idea, QH, but I want to make sure we won't be splitting efforts from the existing SaveCoH team. Is there an advantage to having a second one rather than encouraging people to join the current one?

Perhaps the word I should have used is "sub-team" as in stll under the auspices of team coh just a collective effort..and the last slot at the con could be pure play time :)

I will note that, unless we want to come back in the morning (leaving stuff locked up overnight), we need to get the physical location cleaned up by 11:30 pm. The Con doesn't want to pay campus big extra bucks for staying later than that.

I think we can arrange that easily enough; just make sure we've got all the big stuff put away before we settle in for play time. ^^
