We could always talk about underwater basket weaving.
Underwater basket weaving is more secret than the private server. Doubtful many here even understand the ref :p

Aggelakis

Underwater basket weaving is a rather common phrase. I doubt many here don't know the phrase, though many probably don't know the origins.

I could have sworn I took a class in Underwater Basket Weaving. Think I might have failed it though...

Given that the topic of the thread is a subject no one with any direct knowledge is ever likely to post about, the thread ran out of ways to stay on topic about ten thousand posts ago.
And i helped!
So far so good. Onward and upward!

Most of the time, I can keep my gun toting Oklahoma side fairly well distracted with Lego.

But, I want that!!!  :D

Almost as secret as Lunar Geodesic Dome Weaving.

Rumor is that when the CoH servers come back up, this will be the veteran reward for former CoH subscribers.  We'll be able to wear it like a beer hat.

I want one on a little red wagon I pull behind me.

Oh but I can understand the first change but if your not allowing him to be spawned in the underground trial, eh, why give him -50 confuse protection?  Are you wanting to make sure if he is somehow spawned in the underground trial that he's guaranteed to kill the entire league?

Oh dear, that'll make trolling the trial easier :(.
Currently; Not doing any streaming, found myself with less time available recently.  Still playing starbound periodically, though I am thinking of trying other games.  Don't tell me to play mmohtg's though please :).  Getting back into participating in VO and the successors again to.

Howdy ya'll!

This isn't an official update by any means, but Nate Downes just commented on a question someone posted regarding an update with the negotiations thus far on one of the COH Facebook pages (the one with the most likes, if you wanna look it up lol ;)). To which, his response was:

"When I can say more, I will post more."

SO, YEAH. *continues to eat popcorn* I think that's...good, right? Well, actually...not good or bad, really. Or...and this is just pure speculation, really...but I DO think that's different then "No news is good news" or "No update".

Thoughts? Is the anticipation killing anyone else? Or is it just me? :)

that might not say a lot but it does tell me they are still talking. And to me that is enough. :)

Hope......forever hope.

In Raging COH-less nights
With Strong Hearts Full, we shall UNITE!
When all seems lost in the effort to bring CoH back to life,
Look to Cyberspace, where HOPE burns bright!

Well yeah, that must be a good thing.  I mean, if things were definitely a failure, he'd surely tell us. :)

Honestly, no news is no news.  It means they haven't reached the point where they can say success is 100% assured, and they haven't reached the point where they can say failure is 100% certain.  And it is highly unlikely we will hear anything else until one of those things is true, because I would conclude they are completely brain-dead if they say anything before either case becomes true.

Understand, if I were them I wouldn't have even said the limited amount they have already said, because I have never seen anything good come of advanced announcements of that kind.  All it would do is compel people to ask questions I couldn't answer.

When the game was still running I would often play a game called "ask me something I can't answer."  If I knew something was coming, but was not allowed to comment on it, but I thought it was safe to at least give a hint to the more observant players, I would deliberately not comment about it loudly.  Sometimes I would maneuver another player into asking a question, then not answer it.  Other times I would straight up say I couldn't comment.  However, there were times I genuinely could not talk about something at all, not even in a nod-nod-wink-wink sort of way.  In those cases, I actively made certain that thread discussions steered away from those topics altogether so I would not have to avoid commenting.  The devs who followed my posts would often privately make note of when I was doing one or the other, so I know it was noticeable to people who knew what I was dancing around.

Sometimes you can drop no-comment hints.  Sometimes you shouldn't even do that.  I think this is one of those cases where you shouldn't even do that, but because the cat is out of the bag a certain amount of that is unavoidable.  But in spite of the strong temptation to do otherwise, it really is better if we do not ask questions that it would be counter to everyone's best interests for them to answer.
