Sometimes you can drop no-comment hints.  Sometimes you shouldn't even do that.  I think this is one of those cases where you shouldn't even do that, but because the cat is out of the bag a certain amount of that is unavoidable.  But in spite of the strong temptation to do otherwise, it really is better if we do not ask questions that it would be counter to everyone's best interests for them to answer.

Thanks for your response!

And honestly, I don't disagree - as things stand right now? Regardless of Nate's comment? I'm sure nothing in the negotiations have changed. I wasn't bringing this to the forums here so we could all start asking Nate questions and demand some type of response from him haha. I think any/all questions we could POSSIBLY have regarding the negotiations at hand have already been asked, and everyone knows the inevitable response: no news is good news (ergo, when something happens, we will hear about it).

But specifically, these forums here at COH Titan are the central hub for where and how all of this stuff started getting it's friction to begin with - this community specifically is waiting with bated breath for any type of official update (and I'm not saying we're the ONLY community - there are a lot of us out there, I'm sure). So while this is by NO MEANS an 'official update'...when things are said elsewhere on Facebook by the person running the shindig - even if it's a small, little morsel of nothing - I think it's good to also make note of it here as well so people can have something to ponder over. Lol - I mean, we were getting pretty desperate there, talking about football and what-not!

I saw something interesting, and thought the rest of the gang might find it interesting too :) That's all!

the talks have gone one too long.  Its been almost a year for a minor deal.
you have to remember that this is the first time Ncsoft might sell a closed game, so they are playing it slow. Just like the team is.
One day the Phoenix will rise again.

Understand, if I were them I wouldn't have even said the limited amount they have already said, because I have never seen anything good come of advanced announcements of that kind.  All it would do is compel people to ask questions I couldn't answer.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm under the impression the only reason they did say what they said is that they knew the cat was about to be out of the bag anyway; that is they knew someone was about to leak the talks against the wishes of those involved.  Under such circumstances, I can certainly get behind speaking out to keep some control over the story.  In some ways I would actually prefer to not know about the talks at this stage, but it's too late for that now.

I think the no-comment comment just confirms what we already believed: that talks are ongoing and that is a very positive thing, but nothing is final yet.

Like the rest of us, I just want my game back.  I am still subscribed to SWTOR, but lately my time there has been minimal.  I have spent more time in Icon, creating characters in a game that is no longer live, than playing a game that is still around, and having more fun doing so.  Besides being nostalgic in the extreme, I consider it time well spent in preparation for the game's eventual return.
What was no more, is now reborn!

I just unsubbed from swtor..after dealing with bioware, I realize that the devs from coh were real professionals compare to bioware

You can blame most of the problems in swtor on EA. Yes Bioware is to blame for some of it but if EA wasn't involved at all the game would of turned out much better. When Lucas Arts was still involved they restrained EA from harming the game more than they wanted to.

Not that EA really wanted to "harm the game" but EA's plans were not something lucas arts agreed with. Too bad nobody was ever around to smack EA away from it's other titles.

I saw something interesting, and thought the rest of the gang might find it interesting too :) That's all!

I see subsequent comments on NDA's

-- if we saw the stack of NDA's he had... he'd be in violation of at least one of them, he's certain.

Now when he sees an NDA to sign it's just like OK, next

Just to note, although he said that in the context of people asking about the deal, none of his comments about NDA's said anything about what those NDA's referred to.

A common clause in many of the NDA's I've signed is that one of the things you can't talk about are the details of the NDA, or even mention the specific existence of it in the first place.

Yes, I was just noting that he didn't violate any such clause in his comments

The talks can go on for as long as they need to IMO. I'd rather the talks take 5 years and get the game back. Then have the team go "Welp, it's been about a year, screw it."

The people putting forth the effort. Are the one's to decide when the talks have gone on to long.

Thanks for the update Ultimate15. It's good to know that Nate is posting at other place than here. So that if/when we get the game back. Hopefully everyone will hear the good news. :)

Note that the talks didn't actually start in any kind of earnestness until late summer/early fall. We aren't anywhere near 'almost a year'.

TBH, given the amount of time that's passed, I wouldn't be surprised it wasn't already a done deal, but they're not saying a word until the new holding company is setup and they've confirmed that the server image works, so they can just say "It's done. Open beta starts Monday next."

That would be a complete mind blower, that would.

I played that game in alpha and a year or two after. It was bad at that point and was downhill from there. Game had potential but well EA is like that. BF4, crisis, Moh and more.
Here is something unrelated that I never knew about. Gave me a laugh. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFpNMZde-mE

THIS!  I have thought this for the last few months.  NDA or not, It's been crazy quiet.

I kind of think this is also possible. I can't see anyone forking over a couple hundred thousand at least for something that might not work. You have the server image to get running and then some sort of launcher to build and also account servers to verify logins.

Quiet is good.  Nda is fine. It will not go on forever, but they will say "no" or "yes" and the accompanying plan. All we can do is keep hope alive, share coh pics and stories and most importantly:

Pancake
Waffles
Bacon
