negotiate already!!! I am tired of playing the train wreck that is swtor.

Try LoL friend!

If I had the time and money - I would love to run the Classic game. I am about 5 years short of being able to retire but that would be awesome to retire to run the game.

Power Gamer

Played SWTOR, it's OK, but its no CoX!
It takes a village to raise a child. And it takes a villain to explain the value of lunch money.

-Random CoHer: "Why does the sky turn green during Rikti invasions?"
-Me:"Rikti Monkey farts"
-Random CoHer: "I'm going to you for all my questions from now on!"

Sinistar

SWTOR is fine in moderation, the boredom factor for me tends to rise rapidly.

I concur, though retirement is closer to 9 years for me.
We're almost there!  ;D

The RNG hates me.

I've got some years left......unless my lottery tickets finally come up golden.

Ironically ever since the shut down I did put Revive City of Heroes on my list of things to do if I won......granted it's kind of in the middle of the list, as some other things would take priority.  :)

I would love to see the game come back online before the Xmas holidays (just after New Years would be fine as well).  I am retired and will take on the occasional contract tech writing job (working from home).  That said, I could HELP someone run the game.  I'm no coder/programmer, but I do know my way around Win 7.  I built the tower system I'm on now from the ground up (all parts purchased online).  I'm pretty much a generalist and know a little bit about lots of stuff.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!  Infinity Server...

I don't get this game at all. I've tried hard to play and enjoy it, but I just have a hard time doing either. Whats worse, is that all of my game-playing friends love this game, and here I am thinking lol is just...eh..

Lol then you and CoH would both be in auto-run mode!
There is always another way. But it might not work exactly like you may desire.

A wise old rabbit once told me "Never give-up!, Trust your instincts!" granted the advice at the time led me on a tripped-out voyage out of an asteroid belt, but hey it was more impressive than a bunch of rocks and space monkies.

I had the same experience.  It just wasn't what I wanted.

I remember reading about it, looking over character lists, and picking one, going "Her. That will be my Alter Ego who I will learn and memorize and trash all comers with."  Then I downloaded and logged in, and found that the character I wanted was one I either had to buy with real money, or win hundreds of matches with whatever random characters the game decided to let me use.

It was also a huge letdown, power-wise.  CoH had the most survivable characters I've ever played in an online game, while LoL characters, even "tanks", felt like tissue paper in comparison.  I kept dying and dying and dying, even against regular minions (and attempting to take on any opposing Champion was a guaranteed death for me), while my level fell further and further behind everyone else on the field and I never had enough money for the items I wanted or needed.

I stuck with it for weeks - even got enough points to unlock a low-tier character I could use so I wouldn't have to learn a new one every week - but I never really felt any improvement.  And between that and the abuse (I kept getting teamed with players who assumed I already knew where to go and what to do, so would bark out orders using insider terms I didn't understand, and then they'd curse at me in French when I didn't IMMEDAITELY follow their instructions), I decided to just forget the whole thing.

These days I'm mainly playing Pokemon and Fire Emblem: Awakening.

and that sums up the game for me as well. Pretty much 100% my experience thus-far.

Brave frontier has held my gaming down for the better part of a year, so at least i got something.

I've refused to take part in any raids in DCUO because I figure the kind of crap would happen to me that'd happen to you.  To many scrubs and stop having fun guys in mmorpgs, all prone to explode when you don't do everything exactly the same way they would.  Or they explode on you and don't know how to play your character at the same time,  very annoying.  It's an attitude that dreaded unholy trinity encourages, complacent gamer syndrome.

So I avoid raids in DCUO because of that.  Happy to do the smaller alerts, but mainly because at least those are about fun, rather than being pidgin holed and rail roaded into doing only one thing.
Currently; Not doing any streaming, found myself with less time available recently.  Still playing starbound periodically, though I am thinking of trying other games.  Don't tell me to play mmohtg's though please :).  Getting back into participating in VO and the successors again to.

What's LoL ?

At first I thought you were "Laugh-out-loud'ing" about something, but it appears you're
discussing a game (a bad game apparently  :o)

League of Legend a MOBA that has a very toxic community, well most MOBA tends to have a toxic comunity, DoTA 2 seems to be the "least hostile". This is because the US servers are inundated by Brazilian and Chinese players and when people try raging on them, they don't understand the rage and just use the auto commands "Space Created" or "Well Played!" as a sarcastic insult.  Vise versa when they rage (the Chinese and Brazilian players) at you, we use the commands "Space Created" and "Well Played" as a sarcastic insults. So in the case of DoTA 2 community people want to rage on each other, but sometimes there is a language barrier to actually understand the rage, so people rage with polite premade emotes sarcastically.

Sugoi

LoL = League of Legends supposedly "the ultimate MOBA game"... tried it, didn't like it for many of the reasons given above.

MOBA = Multiplayer Online Battle Arena, just like Blizzard's new game (the real WoW-killer?) is meant to be.

Edit:  Link to short article talking about the new game:

Unfortunatly, its the closest MMO to CoH that I have found so far....

I have been playing mostly FPS games (first person shooters) and some are fun - I like DayZ if you find the right server it can be a lot of fun. You just have to understand - you are going to die and often. Players kill you, vehicles kill you, zombies kill you. Falling off a rock kills you.

Still it's fun.

Funniest thing I saw in DayZ was a gang for bandits dressed in nothing but their undergarments and wearing Payday Masks. They will just run to you and try boxing you to death.

I'd been playing serious sam, duke nukem 3d occasionally, marathon occasionally.  Also played through shadow warrior 2013, which was also fun.  In all games you'll get killed at times(especially serious sam unless your on baby mode) to.  Well, was playing them since I quit bait and switch online(CO).  I am also pondering when to finish spec ops: The line, haven't quite yet.

So far, Serious sam 3, don't expect to make it through without dying a few times on normal, unlike 90% of the modern games out there where death never happens on normal.  But in a way, I was happy and enjoyed it even when I had a hard time on a spot as the game isn't punishing, but rather you could learn from your mistakes and the game wasn't one of those "you can die at any time randomly" type of games.

Duke nukem 3d, well, only very occasionally as said, I do prefer to play it on the highest "fair" difficulty(it's max difficulty cheats like doom's nightmare does).  Marathon....well while I could beat doom and doom 2 on ultra violence or duke nukem 3d on damn i'm good, I cannot get past some levels of marathon on total carnage.  Said levels in M1 through infinity are just, that, hard. Like one mistake and instantly dead hard :(.

Edit: Speaking of other games, Skyrim Redones author T3ndo released perkus maximus today, which is supposed to be a more streamlined, improved skyrim redone with improvements including easier to include other mods with it.  The mod focuses entirely on perks and combat, rather than overhauling everything, so you can include more mods of your choice with it.  Gonna install it today and try it out after reinstalling skyrim.
