Hey, here's some opportunities you AND us  ;)

http://us.ncsoft.com/en/jobs/

Don't hurt me...

NCsoft Austin has 8 positions open. Would be handy to have a guy on the inside...near that sweet CoH code...

just sayin', don't shoot me.
Weren't the NCSoft US reviews on the glass site I don't remember its name (about giving reviews of your job) weren't so good, so I wouldn't wish anybody inside the demon's lair. Though a mole would be very useful indeed.
Yeeessss....

yeah pretty bad reviews abotu upper management. But then again, they are from former employees and usually probably not the most non-biased source. Alot of ex-employees dont think too favorable of their ex-employer, especially if they get terminated. Or else they probably wouldnt have left.

Wether the situation is very bad, or it is not.
If it is not, then why so many bad reviews and so few good ones ?
If it is bad, then those who stay must be strong or desperate, so they won't speak up either.

A pile of bad reviews are more propably generated by bad management, than if everything was happy and shiny.

Well people are more inclined and quick to write bad reviews than positive one. The bad ones doesnt seem to be many if any current employees.

Yeah. or some of them may actually like they job. I'm sure they have more employees than the ones that wrote a review negative or positive. The situation may be terrible and many of them just didnt write a review just as many may love their job and didnt write a review. But if those bad reviews are taken to be absolute truth then it would probably mean they are still the minority of the employees and thus might be the minority feeling overall. People who are angry tend to speak out more and louder than those that are content especially after being terminated or leaving ex-employer because they didnt like it there.

All I'm saying is there is two sides to every story and one side mostly made from ex-employees are probably not the most un-biased source. What they say may be absolutely true. It's like asking ex-military that have been booted what they think about the army, and many will be pissed and speak negative. Does this mean that the army is terrible to it's employees? Maybe. But that judgement probably cant be made asking a group that probably naturally wont have nice thigns to say about them given the situation. Or it's like asking someone that got banned from here how is Titan Network and they speak bad about Titan if someone asked them how is it over there. Should i take their negative view as that is how it really is? In their eyes what they speak is truth but overall it's probably not an un-biased view.

What struck me wasn't that the reviews were mostly negative.  I agree with you on that point--the people who left reviews were a self-selected group that, for the most part, had an ax to grind.  What struck me, though, was that most of the complaints had a very similar theme to them.  I can't just discount that as chance.

What also really struck me is that there was one glowing review posted a month or so before the announcement that City of Heroes was being shut down and Paragon Studios closed.  It was posted from an employee in Mountain View, California.  There's only one NCsoft subsidiary that I know of that was open at that time in Mountain View.  That's right, one poor schmuck posted a glowing review of how cool NCsoft was to work for, and a month later, got laid off.

That little "expansion" debacle with Arenanet seems to mirror the glassdoor complaints quite nicely as well.

Pitched in a bit.

Little enough considering I have my girls in digital archive.

Touche.

Lightslinger

Yeah, working for NCsoft probably sucks. Hey, as long as Guy could stick it out long enough to get back on his feet and find a better job grab that server code, that's all we really need.

Guy will be purchasing another week in Studio 6, and is still waiting to hear back on apartment criteria regarding a lease prior to employment. The place was bought by a different management company, like, a month ago, and prior to that they didn't allow unemployed leases at all. So they're cross-checking the policy with the management company to see exactly what needs to be done. The unit in question will become available this Saturday.

Guy also received an extremely generous donation in an amount sufficient for purchasing a vehicle. If all goes well, the apartment will be sorted out by tomorrow, and the auto later this week.

TonyV

There you go!  I would have responded earlier, but I was knee-deep in Neverwinter beta this weekend.  :)

I want to emphasize again that I can't tell you all how much I appreciate the donations, even though I'm not the one getting them.  Our little corner of the Internet has really gotten to feel like a family, and as weird as it sounds, I genuinely care about these folks.  I don't like going to the "Hey everyone, throw money at us!" well, and I probably wouldn't have if I didn't know how much time and effort Guy has put into the Titan Network, and how much he's continuing to put into helping even now.

Kheprera

Agreed, Tony. Everyone here is family.  I've donated what I can even though my own finances are shakey. As I see it, at least I have a roof over my head, food in my kids' stomachs, and a (so far) stable job.

Someday I'll have a working computer again, and maybe will find the heart to finish my stories. Until then, I'll appreciate you all and show support as best I can, and will donate when and where I can.

This is what you guys just paid for. It's $605/mo:

The floor plan, called "The Florence", since I guess it kinda sounds like "floor":

Upon entering, we see the living area:

It's dark out there, but you can see the storage closet:

The flash from the camera is throwing off the balance, but this is the bedroom:

The closet is rather roomy:

The water fixtures in the bathroom need work, but it's a good size:

The holy grail of apartment living: laundry machines right there in the unit!

The kitchen is also fairly well configured:

Ah, the Monty Haul suite.
And suddenly all of the discussions of the Monty Hall problem I've watched Guy and Tony have over the years are brought into focus.
