I'm getting some lovely feedback from the gaming press and I wanted to share it with you guys. It would be so, so kind if we could support them with comments/links/shares as much as possible, as these people have, so far, really been rooting for us:

We all know she loves to help out other peoples causes. After all its not just some video game we lost. It was the friendships we forged and the bonds with our families that we lost because THAT is what City of Heroes was to many of us! It was a community of loyal, Passionate people who love just being with each other.

If you're going to contact Oprah Winfrey, I'd recommend making a point to mention the ways the game and the game community helped you or a loved one get through a negative experience, or escape an unforgiving world, etc.  In the article I wrote (mentioned elsewhere earlier today; being published tonight or tomorrow), I have quite a few of them from my own player friends).

To be honest, Oprah's not going to care about some game being turned off; but tearjerker stories of heartbreak and renewed hope = ratings.  I'm not being insincere or insulting intentionally, but that's the truth of it. A significant number of us are going to need to play that certain angle to get anywhere with her.

This is what Oprah is ALL about.  If I email her it will be looking as if I am trying to promote myself.  If you mail her, it will be stories of people who had been helped by something and the Big Nasty Foreign Corporation cut their support network out from under them.

Then suggest that Melissa Bianco (War Witch) be contacted to speak for you.  Lead Games Designer in a field mostly dominated by men?  Damn skippy.
