I remember someone said CoH2 was an april fools joke and nothing but.

Which CoH2 were they referring to?

It was that guy. You know, the one who hangs out down on the corner by the qwik stop all the time, with the beard. He totally knows things.

That guy owes me money.

Is this the guy?

Wait a minute. Walker, did you play on Justice server? Did you like to do pug TFs?

Codewalker is Jay...

The one thing I wish for is just closure of that the negotiations failed.
It makes me feel like a girl at prom waiting beside the phone for some dude to call.
Bah, screw that. I want to steal my parents car and sleep with his best friend just so he can see what he's missing.

I mean that moderately metaphorically, too. I realize NCSoft doesn't and probably never did give a crap about us.
We're not Korean or in Korea. Why should they? We were basically a failed experiment in their eyes.

The only reason they're holding onto this right now is because the IP is theirs.
Even if they don't want it the history of CoH development has their mark on it.
Sucks, but that's how it is.

Nice thing about us being small in numbers though is it's easier to fly under the radar.
We're across multiple countries and diversified in abilities.
I'm looking forward to the day when SCORE gets completed.

It seems to be the next time I'll be playing the game I love.

To be fair being Korean, American, etc more than likely has nothing to do with anything, its all about maximizing revenue with the resources presented. Heck EA is an American Company (they are 10 miles from where I live,) but that doesn't stop them from screwing all the fans of the Studios (RIP Westwood, Maxis, etc) they gobble up and slice up the game into DLCs to milk the consumers.

Has there even been confirmation that is what the goal of score?  I thought Paragon Chat was what they were working on...

Brigadine

Why don't we just buy all of NCsoft just for the needle lol

As far as score goes, I'd suggest you read these pages.

As well as

I never was sure if they were trolling but I know for a fact CW mentioned the source for Paragon Chat was going to be used on other projects. Take that to mean what you will.

Yes, Necro posts shall be Necro'd!

A year. The Deal has been going on...For A Year.

Not tryna burn you down or anything but..It probably woulda been done by now/around now if Nexon hadn't seperated from NCSoft and complicated things.

The process of separating may have complicated things, but at least at present there are less cooks in the kitchen.

Uh... Yeah, being a Korean Company versus a American Company makes a difference... Nate even said that the Team had to be introduced to NCsoft by a Third Party just to start the negotiations for the IP, whereas one could just email an American Company if they wanted to start negotiations for something, so it does matter that NCsoft is a Korean Company, they have a different way of going about their business

Chances are, An American Company would've kept CoH alive because it would've been making them some nice dough, but as i said before, NCsoft is a Korean Company, they have a different way of doing things.

At 186 dollars a share (converted from Korea's currency), I'm not sure we could get enough cash together to buy enough to get controlling interest and be able to override all other share holders voting against us.

Then again, we could start the City of Heroes Mutual Fund or the Old Games Mutual Fund with the purpose to save the city and possibly other games heading for /dev/null.

Of course, we could try to convince one of the brokerage houses that runs a 'sin mutual fund' to buy shares of NCSoft.  They'd have that kind of cash.

Note:   now that I think of it, the mutual fund isn't a bad idea.  Saving CoH itself isn't high on everyone's list but such a fund would attract others interested in saving their games from certain doom.  Might also attract money from people who don't care about games but do care about a steady return on their investment.

Ain't no way in hell I'm going to go play CO just to show up NCSoft which is the best (or is that worst) interpretation of sleeping with his best friend I can think of.  Not that NCSoft and Cryptic are the best of friends mind you.

You need to go work for a multinational company.  Culture plays a major role in how business is done.  Want to piss off a Japanese business man?  Don't look at his business card and try to pronounce his name if he gives you his business card.  How about calling over Muslims by using the usual gesture for come here as Americans do?  That's basically saying f-you to them.  And while we're talking about it, money isn't always the motivation either.  Honor plays a role in parts of the world.  Patience or lack of rather can kill a deal very effectively.

You learn that kind of stuff working for a multinational or you get fired quickly.

We wouldn't need controlling interest in the company to force their hands, we'd just need enough to be a pain in their @$$. Enough to change the votes on decisions that the current administration wants. Do this enough, and they will deal with you, one way or the other. I don't know how many shares there are in NCSoft. The goal is not to take over the company, just screw with it enough that they will do business with you.
My Reality:
#1 I love my wife!
#2 I miss CoX!
#3 Refer to rule #1!
#4 I seem to have an itch!

Their financials would tell us what we needed, but I did look to see what Reuters had on them.  The have almost 22 million outstanding shares.  It's a boring stock but turning a profit.  1.56% yield.  As Gordon Gecko would say, "It's a dog with fleas."

As we are gamers, we do know what would sell and what would flop.  We likely would have killed the wildstar project before it got off the ground and spared NCSoft the embarrassment of producing the title.

I could see Chua as a playable race in CoH though.  ;)

I'm betting the remaining 49% would be nice and cheap after a conglomerate of gamers bought the first 51 :P

Shareholders don't get to make decisions like that.  Shareholders only get to vote on certain issues, based on the governance rules of the corporation.  They can't, for example, try to force the CEO to do some specific thing.  They can replace him or her in theory if they have sufficient votes to do so, but unless what they are trying to achieve is popular with the rest of the shareholders a small minority shareholder can't do much on their own.  Usually when you hear about minority shareholders making trouble at a company, its because their relatively small stake in the company gets them a seat at the table, but its really their ability to sway other shareholders to their position that gives them their real power.  If you have 10% of the company and the other 90% doesn't care about what you care about, that 10% will do you no good.  You often hear about shareholder activitists buying up a stake in a company, discover that they can't get the rest of the shareholders on board their idea, and then promptly sell that stake off because its now worthless to their goals.
