There's something that I've mentioned before, that I'd like to see rolled back. Get rid of Matthew Habashy and his Champions-style, single-track mission path, and bring back the origin contacts. Greater mission variety at the start, for those of us who ENJOY our alt-itis. :)

YES!!! SO MUCH YES! I so miss the origin contacts, I even did, back when the game was still up! ;D Although, I don't see why Habashy has to disappear. If it, for some reason, incompatible for them to both be up, then whatever, I'd rather see Habashy gone.

And while we're at it, I'd like to see Galaxy return, but the Ouroboros return was fine, if not less-populated. I'd also love the old Atlas Park. I never liked the retooling. As well as the old CoT.

I did not like the removal of Galaxy City ... at all.   A much better starter zone than AP.

For the first two years or so i almost always started out in Galaxy City. i just like it more than AP for a variety of reasons.

Galaxy lacked one thing that made it easier to start in Atlas. Wentworths.

Of course Atlas had a Vanguard base which made it easier to get a jetpack and costume change, but Wentworth's was just dead useful. If you started in Galaxy, (which I had a few toons who did) then you ended up in Atlas when you started getting luck charms.

(or if you wanted to vendor level 49+ SO's and make an easy Million for walking around money.)

If I remember rightly, you didn't get to play any of the other contacts.  They sent you to the origin contact for your build.  So if you built a Science one, you went to DATA.  If you got to build a Squid, you went to the Khelds outside.  Repeat.

No, that's correct. But even though your character was tied in to the mutation or magic contact, there was still the option / possibility of getting one of FIVE (seven including Kheldian) starting contacts. A huge part of the reason I didn't get in to CoV as much was that my altitis demanded starting many characters, and doing the exact same missions over and over again was boring.

I don't mind the repeated questions honestly. I look at anyone who is still genuinely interested in CoH returning as a friend yet to be made.

I have even had some more passionate folks speak to me in messages or to my personal email. I really don't mind. 18 months later and you still care enough to ask? You are who we want around.

I think this has been stated a couple of times to be a non-problem. Games change hands all the time, and the customer data transitions seamlessly (most of the time).

And that's just for games.   Companies change hands all the time and they don't just throw away all the costumer data.   I don't see any reason why a simple online game would be unable to do the same.

I don't recall anyone suggesting that it was simple, just not an automatic deal breaker, legally speaking. If that's a sticking point for anyone, I don't think it sounds like any of those people are on this board. :)

Just curious Ironwolf,  If things do take a positive spin and ncsoft sale ..etc.. Have the person/s making the deal mentioned where/how they will first announce any positive news/developments??

 I dont think they will make an announcement until ink is dry on some paperwork... or they cant move any further in negotiations..

Not my concern honsetly. I want all credit to go to these folks which ever way it pans out. They worked together formed a studio and made the effort to try and get the game. None of these things alone is easy and they have been doing it all. To use a World Cup example - I just passed the ball in our end and they have run down field and are trying to score!

Now we hope for the GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL! scream at the end :)

Never mind who they are. Let them do their thing in the shadows and take the appropriate bows if and when this is a done deal. The LAST thing we would want is to find out who this  secret cabal is , have somebody inundate them with emails and somehow blow this to heck and gone.

And by Zod, let it be a done deal. I have tried everything from the Secret World to Neverwinter, and I can't stand any of them more than a month at a time. I want my home back.

Absolutely no other MMO out there, superhero or otherwise, has been able to fill the void left by City of Heroes for me...

Some of them are cool, some of them are neat, and some of them are just junk--but NONE of them can do what CoH has done.

Every day that I come here (sometimes more often) and I don't see this:

"Sorry folks but we hit a stumbling block we can't get past!"

My day is better and hope yet lives.

But if that day comes, then we must continue to fight to get our City back, however it may happen. Another Group? Fine. Volunteer University hosting? Fine. Private servers? Fine. How old will be in 2 years if we don't try? But if we do, and we win, we get to go home. That is a worthy struggle indeed.
