Absolutely no other MMO out there, superhero or otherwise, has been able to fill the void left by City of Heroes for me...

Some of them are cool, some of them are neat, and some of them are just junk--but NONE of them can do what CoH has done.

Thats how I feel, and I actually stated many times why I feel that way about mmorpgs.  There hasn't been a solid replacement for CoH :/.
Currently; Not doing any streaming, found myself with less time available recently.  Still playing starbound periodically, though I am thinking of trying other games.  Don't tell me to play mmohtg's though please :).  Getting back into participating in VO and the successors again to.

Not my concern honsetly. I want all credit to go to these folks which ever way it pans out. They worked together formed a studio and made the effort to try and get the game. None of these things alone is easy and they have been doing it all. To use a World Cup example - I just passed the ball in our end and they have run down field and are trying to score!

Now we hope for the GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL! scream at the end :)

I wonder how long it will take when there is some fruitful info.

I was under the impression that Google never bit at all, and this is a new group of investors.

I think it will take awhile, to hear anything. To help pass  the time do what I do give out good thoughts about getting this game back and research what kind of characters to make and what names to give them. :)

The original posting of the new efforts was on March 6th of this year so the answer is no the negotiations have not been going on for a year.
I also doubt that Google is involved in any way.

It does make sense though. You'd need a studio for NCSoft to seriously consider selling to you.

What I'd be concerned about as someone investing in said studio would be if they were securing the rights to COH 2 and would be able to leverage any of the COH Tech for other games or if Cryptic has the keys to that.
