Nearly posted about last night myself, forgot to hit post.  Tried playing CO for a short time, but got bored, began to fall asleep during gameplay.  I played it's content so many times cause they NEVER added new content that I went back to CoX a long time ago because CO got no new content while CoX was getting things like inherent fitness, new content and all kinds of fun stuff.  Couldn't bring myself to RP in CO, so I decided to play skyrim instead.

And I still cannot stand the long as heck enchanting grind, even though I made it level 30% faster then normal (via the community uncapper) and also leveled it up halfway during the dawnguard quest line(for which, I made sure the vampire attacks were off since they were total 100% game breakers no matter how overpowered you make your dovahkin, can't protect NPC's if they will suicidally charge into the hands of a vampire master who can instantly kill them by the dozens and end up with you having a ghost town).

It wasn't all that fun, the night was slow as heck though.

Back to CO, I could have swore there were less then 250 on yesterday in MC, so I'd estimate maybe less then 400 players on the whole server.  The 100% removal of mega destroid drops and the removal of almost all questionite box rewards caused half the population to quit, so prices are still remaining stupidly high on auctions and q tranfer rates are still out of whack due to the fact that no ones buying zen(can't blame em) nore is anyone getting any items to put on auction.  I just, cannot get myself to play that 90% of the time anymore, to repetitive.
Currently; Not doing any streaming, found myself with less time available recently.  Still playing starbound periodically, though I am thinking of trying other games.  Don't tell me to play mmohtg's though please :).  Getting back into participating in VO and the successors again to.

Ok so IronWolf said that the game would have NCsofts name on it?  I don't understand that because if it is purchased wouldn't it belong to the new company? That sounds odd to me. Apparently purchasing something will not make you the owner...

Note how Cryptic's name remained on CoH after NCSoft purchased it? Or how Marvel's logo is found at the beginning of the XMen movies, despite not being involved in their production.

In these industries, credits mean everything. The price to remove credit is incredibly high.

It will make you the owner, it won't make you the previous management or the original creators. The game would retain some indication it has been managed by NCSoft in the past, and that is ALL.
We were heroes. We were villains. At the end of the world we all fought as one. It's what we did that defines us.
The end occurred pretty much as we predicted: all servers redlining until midnight... and then no servers to go around.

Somewhere beyond time and space, if you look hard you might find a flash of silver trailing crimson: a lone lost Spartan on his way home.

I'd still like to see a water blast char get up there, especially since it's summer right now.  It doesn't feel right not having access to city of heroes during the summer.  One thing I truely, truely miss, is all the water you saw everywhere in city of heroes, even though you couldn't swim up or down in it.  CO just doesn't get it with water, sure you have a whole underwater zone but that zone is awkward at best. (I am really unsure if I spelled that right)

That was something that really annoyed me with the shutdown, they were putting out all of these really cool new powersets to play and we didn't have enough time to really play them out. Just sad when I think about it.  :gonk:

I can live with the NCSoft logo on the thing, as the Cryptic and Paragon Studios logos will be there too, along with "Atlas Reborn Studios" or whatever the company is added to it.  Credit is credit, and NCSoft did in fact let us have it longer than we would have otherwise.

As long as the end result is our City is back up and running, and I can fly, jump, speed, and/or teleport about the Cities again, NCSoft can have their logo.

There's something that I've mentioned before, that I'd like to see rolled back. Get rid of Matthew Habashy and his Champions-style, single-track mission path, and bring back the origin contacts. Greater mission variety at the start, for those of us who ENJOY our alt-itis. :)

Agree!  Strongly!  I never played all that content and some of it I have played I'd like to replay.  Started a few new guys since the change and playing Matthew and Shining Stars repeatedly Every Single Time is getting pretty *bleeping* boring.  At least give us the *option* to play the old contacts.

If there is one lesson that i think the devs learned (or should have) is: GET RID OF NOTHING.

Don't get rid of Hashby, just add the option to do it the other way as well. Why do you think we had echo versions of Dark Astoria and Galaxy City? Defunct TF's that no longer fit the universe? Off to Oroborus.

How many times have played Hashby? A dozen anyway.

The old origin story routes (which by the way were all very similar in many ways)? 50 times easy.

Just give us the choice. Send us to hashby and give as call from Azuria to stop by for a chat.

heck sometimes I didn't do anything but streetsweep till I hit 5th, then pick up secondary contacts until I get the call to the Hallows, zip over there meet the cop dude, Go to king's row, do missions, do radios and never do any real story arcs until Faultline.

The games strength was and will be that there are so many ways to play. Add diversity, don't remove it.

Just for grins, I loved Matthew Hashby's arc for the same reason that I loved Faultline arc. It was a story about human emotion, hope and redemption. It wasn't just a string of door missions strung together with loose plot about a street gang getting it's hands on magical artifacts (which never, ever gets resolved) None of the old origins missions were about much of anything at all.

You know I think I almost always did that the last few years of the game -- though I did run all the way through the Hashby, etc. arcs at least 3 times

To be perfectly honest, the origin missions were quite bland. Would have been nice to have more options, but even the new path did have a couple spots where it branched. I wish they hadn't toasted Galaxy City, though...

Wow...apparently my CoH experience was not as unique as I thought hah! Faultline to me was really where the story starts (Though after Frostfire of course)

I did not like the removal of Galaxy City ... at all.   A much better starter zone than AP.

If Ironwolf's team are able to bring the game back would other people would get some of the credit for attempting to bring back City of Heroes such as myself, Rae, VV, and a few other people? I'm just asking...you don't have to answer my question.

I would often do the Hollows up through Frostfire. Occasionally, I would do the entire Hallows arc. It was actually common for me  to out level the Hollows story arc if I wasn't careful.

Valid point thank you for the clarification. For some reason it didn't seem obvious that it was for 'credit' reasons.

I was thinking mainly so that they didn't have to read the whole thing. Honestly, even if you took out the non-topic stuff that people get all worked up about, it would still probably be 40 pages long. I was thinking a quick summation so that people who demand instant gratification can get it.

I realize we get off topic occasionally, but this is about as close as we can get right now to the community that used to haunt the forums and talk about the game. We don't stray for too long before it gets steered back. I'm sorry it annoys some but not so sorry that I won't continue to post even with no news.

I honestly love that. It's not just old forum-talk, but it's also the kind of conversation that used to consistently occupy the Atlas Broadcast chat. It brings back good memories.:3
