I doubt it is stalling so much as a low priority to them.
Indeed.  At this point, I've nearly given up all hope.  I sincerely doubt any negotiations are still going on at all.  I'm pretty sure they died long ago.  We're so far below their radar we don't even exist to them.

I'm sure they care, in the sense if an fully functional CoX outside the scope of Paragon Chat was created, they will hit it with a 2x4 with a cease and desist DMCA letter attached to it faster than Nintendo would with their IPs

That might be the only thing that would get their attention.  As for any negotiation efforts, again, at this point I doubt they're returning any phone calls.  It's been 4 years, clearly nothing is happening on this front.  I'd love to be proven wrong, but I doubt I will be.

Well back to an earlier point about the video, another narcissist decided to troll the video comments saying everything was a false claim(there was no comment of CO before this one was made in this thread).  Blocked the person after confronting them for there tactics.

Should I be surprised(I'm not to be honest)?  I don't like to make these posts here, just need to get this off my chest.

I feel I get gaslighted by CO's community any time I cross paths with them.  They claim I put words in there mouths when I don't even make up things they say, only pointing out there bad forum behavior(the gaslighter in question actually attacked in the very way I accuse them of).  I mean two weeks ago I saw someone(maybe it was one week) acting like a narcissist on paragon chat to a point I add them to the ignore and then suddenly another CO troll gaslights me on youtube today after I get off work.

Every time, they accuse me of putting words in their mouth when I actually read their posts and see what they are saying.
Every time they lie about me and my actions to me.
It ultimately feels like they try to confuse me and everyone they speak to.

This gaslighting?  From the definition of it, confusing the person into doubting themselves and thinking they are insane is.
Currently; Not doing any streaming, found myself with less time available recently.  Still playing starbound periodically, though I am thinking of trying other games.  Don't tell me to play mmohtg's though please :).  Getting back into participating in VO and the successors again to.

While, I understand what you are saying I think that many people are forgetting that Nc is a Korean company and the team has to work within those confines. A deal could take years to work through. This website I found could shed some light on what could be happening http://www.apmforum.com/columns/boye46.htm.
What is known about this deal is one, there is a NDA with an unknown time limit, two, the three people we know is/was a part of this deal has not been on from 2 months to the beginning of the year; for all we know could guess at is two possibilities. One the deal was a success and the team is working on making City of. zombie available. Or two which seems to be what some people have grasped on, due to a lack of evidence it, the team failed. So they throw in the towel, as it were.
There has been a little nugget of information that seems to be swept under the rug and that was the mini update on the City of. Titans kickstarter stating" Talks are still on going, just slowly."
One day the Phoenix will rise again.

I assume that if talks ever fail, we'll know. They're under an NDA while negotiations are ongoing, but I can't imagine that it would cover Nate to the point where he can't even say that a deal won't happen.

Realistically speaking, 4 years isn't actually outside the timeframe for vigorous and active negotiations when it comes to corporate acquisitions. The main reason it seems like they go so fast is because we normally don't hear about them until all the contracts are signed. Disney first started talking to Lucas in 2011 (informally), and that was a CEO to CEO deal where all the rights were going at once.

Know what really saddens me?  The fact that our game was legitimately going to go into space.

Just think: some time within the last year or so someone would have been awarded the "Over the Moon" badge for flying to and from the Moon base.  Which, at the flight cap with afterburner, would have taken about seven and a half months.

... It probably would have been me.

... and it still would have taken about 50 days less than the amount of time I spent earning Empath.  On a blaster.

I don't know, I can think of some of my fliers that would have happily raced you.  :)

I remember one of my Tanks having Empath. I was always asked, how does a tank get Empath.  My answer: very slowly.
In fearful COH-less days
In Raging COH-less nights
With Strong Hearts Full, we shall UNITE!
When all seems lost in the effort to bring CoH back to life,
Look to Cyberspace, where HOPE burns bright!

The cow probably got that badge first. And he only needed super jump to do it. And maybe a cat and a fiddle...

It will always boggle my mind as to why someone making their own game is trying to get the rights to another.
To me, it seems as their trying to bury it long enough so there's never any real hope. Just superficial hope.
So that people turn to City of Titans. (horrible name by the name. I would have went with City of Justice.)

Anywho, Smart strategy...yes, I'm a cynic. Sue me.

This is just my understanding so it may not be 100% in sync with what is actually happening.  But from what I know Missing Worlds Media is in no way connected to the purchasing of CoH.  Nate, who is part of MWM, is spearing the purchasing efforts as a separate project using different resources and funding then that of MWM.  He just happens to be part of the same team.

I think maybe there was talk of maybe connecting lore or small things from CoH into CoT possibly, but that is just speculation i'm pretty sure or perhaps it was part of what the team was pushing for in negotiations.

Those in the know or with a better understanding feel free to correct any errors.

I don't think it's quite the full story here.  From my understanding MWM is one of a number of differing studios actually involved with the talks for CoH.  I wouldn't be surprised though, if MWM ends up with the game, that they'll benefit from income generated from it to further develop CoT.  Ultimately city of heroes re-released would in effect become the first game developed by a AAA company(Cryptic studios) to be in control of an independent developer(MWM) and it'd fund an indi game(CoT).

It'd at the very least be an interesting thing to see which, I think it could work.  Lets also not forget everyones favorite, the city of heroes rebirth project could also be for issues 30+ of CoH itself if CoH got development past issue 24, although I don't think it may be beyond issue 23.  I do admit I'd love to play issue 24 official.

Edit: Forgot to say, thanks for bringing the post up guys.

It was so close too

I'm pretty sure it was feature-complete on beta, and all but ready to go online.  The only reason they didn't push it to live was that with the shutdown, they were afraid that any showstopper bugs in I24 could have brought us down with limited resources to either fix it or even consistently bring the servers back online.  At one point I was told if I killed the beta server there was no guarantee it could be brought back up again.

Better to have a relatively stable I23 for the last three months than potentially kill the servers with I24 and maybe even have them go down permanently without warning.
