I liked that subtle dig at Star Trek Online, when the announcer said, "Did we miss anything?"

Definitely more subtle than when he referred to earlier it as a half-baked mmo with great source material.

Also I somehow made it to today without knowing there was a cinematic trailer for CoV.

There was several cinematic trailers that were not released in the West and was meant for Korean audience that centralized around Foreshadow and Mirror Spirit. Here is one of them, I think there are 3-4 more:

Edit: Dang would have been awesome if they released a pistol/sword melee like in the trailer.

Oh my, that means you've never seen this hilariously brilliant version of it:

Shoulda had a deleted scene showing that Synapse died to someone's damage aura and they only knew he was there when LR almost tripped over him.

Hey guys, Watch Mojo recently post a new video on YouTube called Top 10 Failed MMOs and City of Heroes is #7 on the list. I think this is insulting to us die hard fans.

I also think its funny 3 of the 10 games that failed are from one company

Something fun to look at, a top 10 list of failed MMO

Interesting while the other ones on the list are on their due to bugs, bad support, being too ambitious, CoX is on the list, but Watch Mojo called it an abnormality to be on the list due to budget cuts and Studio shutdown.

If anything thats a crappy list, as it only looks at shut-down games, rather than games which are still running, but have a horribly depleted playerbase and are also very bad to 90% of those who'd played them.  I often say just because an mmorpg isn't running, doesn't make it a failure, all the while just because a game is still running doesn't mean it's still a success.

CO is severely depleted, has largely negative opinion towards it(even from it's own developers save the one working on it who I think is just sabotaging it even more then it already was), and has been abandoned by most people who want a legitimately good game.  That to me is a failed game.
A few other games on the list were also highly appraised inspite being shut down.

It's a bad list.  Kind of insulting and disgraceful of WatchMojo.
Currently; Not doing any streaming, found myself with less time available recently.  Still playing starbound periodically, though I am thinking of trying other games.  Don't tell me to play mmohtg's though please :).  Getting back into participating in VO and the successors again to.

There is several ways to look a this list. One is to say it's terrible that CoX is on this list and the publisher should be ashamed of even putting it on there. My school of thought is they put CoX on the list, and when pinned to the other ones on the list, they didn't have anything bad to say about CoX (actually praised it) and the reason why it shut down was due to NC Soft. From there looking a the view count, there are over 200k views in less than one day that saw this list. Top of that the top comments on this list is not talking about any other of the games on the list, and majority is about CoX. To me that is a lot of positive exposure even if the list is proceeded to be "Top Fail List" and makes people wonder why was CoX shut down and starts a conversation outside of this forum. Just cause something is on a list of bads doesn't mean it is bad. Honestly compared to the others on the list based on the commentary, CoX doesn't look like a golden turd nugget in the pile, but an actual gold nugget.

Oh I agree with you Alex, most of the games on that list should not be considered a failure. And after reading comments on that video, I think they should made the title of defunct mmos, and not failures. What I dislike is the unprofessional approach they had with making the last scene Star Trek Online, that game is still being developed and now is on ps4 and x1, so in that it is not a failure. If they were going for failures, then they should have listed tor, and going by their own criteria wow's expansions should have been on the list.
One day the Phoenix will rise again.

I would watch it but it'd breed to many bad feelings.  If however they are speaking positively....

If thats the case, in which the game is being praised, yeah, it does speak volumes.  Even more-so when you look at the comments praising CoH being in the top.  What always bothers me is how CoX was shut down, and CO has gone down the dark path of free to play, intentionally scamming the player to let them win.  One was an honest game and it was shut down by a crooked company, the other is allowed to run by a different crooked company(PWE, or whatever it's called today) that half forces it's devs to turn it into a play for free, pay to win scam.

Watched the video.  Were those shots of Recluse, Statesman, and the rest actual in-game footage?  :O

This just makes me want to play CoH more.  Even moreso with my new job coming up, i keep hoping i'll see an update soon.  We hadn't had one in such a long time, it makes me sad, in a way.  I still have hope.

I mean how long do these business deals take?  I expected it to take time but not this much time.  Still getting bored of games regularly enough, meh.  :/

All this talk of trailers, planets and orbits brought me to this:

oddly reminiscent of our final moments...

Know what really saddens me?  The fact that our game was legitimately going to go into space.  None of that "oh here is a teeny tiny space station to hang out in" crap i saw in the oher game which would be abandoned after once again for more even longer grinds.
