I take it you missed Dark Matter, the Expanse, 12 Monkeys and Killjoys?
Killjoys was interesting, and I thought the SciFi Channel (I refuse to call it 'syfy') did a very good job recently with The Expanse.

While you're at it, could you make them start showing actual science fiction again instead of really really bad horror B movies?

The irony is last I read the channel was operated by some that don't even like science fiction.....truly an oxymoron.

But yes, the logo being reverted, classic and new scifi shows back on the channel, possibly even an anime block similar to adult swim.

Also would have to contact the BBC about making Sci-fi Channel the Dr Who channel for all surviving CLASSIC Dr Who stories as well as the new ones.

And yes, by all classic I mean ALL including Doc 1 and Doc 2 eras. :)

Sheridan: Tell me, Commander...have you ever wondered what would happen if you opened a jump point while inside a jump gate?
Ivanova: No! And neither should you!

The whole mess could have been avoided if the Vorlons way back when had just remembered that "Ivanova is always right. I will listen to Ivanova. I will not ignore Ivanova's recommendations. Ivanova is God."

Then again, that worked for Sheridan because Sheridan is like Jamie Hyneman: John Sheridan always wants big boom.

Were they waiting at the gate for thousands of years like someone waiting for an elevator that is shut down?

It's too bad Claudia Christian didn't stay for the last season.  I think it would have been great if it were revealed in the last episode Ivanova really was God.

Its only Tuesday.

"For you, the day City of Heroes returned was the greatest day of your life."

"But for Arcana, it was Tuesday."

Sorry, couldn't control the impulse, and no offense meant to Arcana. I'm quite sure she'll be doing flips of joy along with the rest of us on that day. :)

Has anyone seen the Shannara Chronicles, on MTV? I haven't, but I'm curious as to the quality.

I have seen the first few episodes. I am not all that impressed with it. But then, I have read the book the show is (loosely) based on and find the show (not so) slight divergent from the story in the book. So, as long as I ignore the title, character names, and the idiocy of the writers (much like I do with Starship Troopers), it's somewhat entertaining.

That is, of course, my opinion. My tastes aren't always the same as others. Your mileage my vary. etc.

I watched the whole series (watched on putlocker.is)
I will admit, the first few episodes are a little corny, but once you get maybe 3 episodes into it, it becomes addictive.
Its got Manu Bennett in it and a few other big/semi-big names in it.

It was quite experimental as far as a tv series concept goes.
Elves in a tv series has not widely been done, let alone Elves, in post-apocalyptic Earth, with Magic added in.
Its like our universe, where someone just mixed in magic and distorted mutated versions of humans, which then got named Gnomes, Trolls and Dwarfs etc

The last episode was kinda epic, however it kinda highlighted a flaw in their planning.
They set out on this quest, it took 10 episodes to get to the destination, then they managed to ride back home in a single 45 seconds scene, racing against time to save the world.
Kinda gave the impression that the destination was just down the road.
Other than that, it was as good series.

I liked it mostly and I hate everything. I've not read the books though. It's a bit divergent city of hunger-y which I'm guessing the books weren't, but it is MTV after all.

I'm pretty sure Sci-Fi Channel creates their movies by spinning five or so "amusement park" wheels, much like "Wheel of Fortune" with random plot points on the wheels.

Wheel 1:  Protagonist/hero - Things like scientist, rogue physicist, ex military, time displaced warrior, ex con with a heart of gold, escaped convict, etc.

Wheel 2:  Antagonist/villain - Most likely an exact copy of wheel 1.  ;-)

Wheel 3:  Setting - Medieval England, abandoned chemical plant, outer space, starship, swamp, big city, rural America, etc.

Wheel 4:  Problem - Rip in spacetime, chemical accident, experiment gone horribly awry, etc.

Wheel 5:  love interest - reporter, plucky scientist, coworker, etc.

Random wheels like this is the only explanation I can come up with for, "Mansquito."

Beware the mighty faceplant!

I still remember damn near needing to be airlifted for medical care when I had the laughing seizure at "Sharknado" on the program guide. Croctopus is another instant classic I believe. I think the whole channel was basically invented to give some has-beens a chance at some work. I mean, Tara Reid and Ian Ziering were lying on the deadest careers in Hollywood.
I can't think of anything clever to place here as I am currently over-caffeinated on very little sleep. All the cool people have a signature, so I will drop random text here trying to fit in.

Last night I dreamed that I was soloing a pylon before a Mothership raid, and everyone else was just hovering around in a big circle laughing because I couldn't hit hard enough on my brute. For some reason I'm really angry with all of you for that. Looks like I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue.

I really enjoyed the first Sharknado.  It's like a blasphemy of science.

We expected better from your build. You have terribly disappointed us with your Pylon Time coming in as a non-starter.

It also holds some light nostalgia for me.  When we were kids, my cousin and I used to play "Shark Busters", which was like a cross between Jaws and Ghostbusters.  It was basically a lot of splashing in the pool pretending we were shooting sharks with proton packs.  We never thought to put them in a tornado though.

Of course, now this means that the new folks in charge of City of Heroes will simply HAVE to release the game on a Tuesday.

That would also follow the traditional maintenance schedule of new patches and releases for CoH arriving on Tuesday.

I don't know if Paragon had different reasons for doing it, but when a live roll out has to happen on a weekday, I tend to do it on Tuesday as well.  You never want to do anything too crazy on Monday if you can help it, because you never know what might sneak up on you on a Monday morning from the weekend.    You don't want to do it on a Friday, because if it messes up you just screwed your weekend.  That leaves Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and the earliest of those tends to be the one I use most commonly.  I suspect most MMOs schedule regular patch updates on one of those three days for similar reasons.  I think Cryptic seems to like Thursdays now.
