Let's not speak of the Harry Dresden attempt.

They intentionally showed the episodes out of order and according to Jim Butcher some wanted it to fail out of the gate.

It didn't actually fail. It was taken off the air not for viewership reasons but because SyFy found a way to make more money by using the timeslot and cancelling it.

The first Dune gave us Sting in a diaper trying to shank Agent Cooper and we all went "okay, sure."

There were a lot of really weird quirks to the Dune with MacLauchlin cast as Paul

the sonic weapons
Thufir's cat
all that damn whispering when people were thinking
the Guild steersman guy

Which came first the Star Trek movie with the whales or the transport ships in the first Dune which looked so much like the alien ships in that Star Trek movie?

I thot the Baron Harkonnen was spot on, apologies to the floating fatman.

Nice to see others are still waiting for the moment when we can all log back on.   Been checking out CoT and starting to get excited about it.   But still dream about CoH occasionally.

Gonna assume it still ongoing since no one has said "It failed".   Pretty impressed with the glacial pace of NCSoft business practices.    Since they were founded in 1997, I guess that means they began the prep for that in the 1970s.

Anyway, cheers to the team trying to make this happen.

There is a good chance you may literally die of laughter.

They would be running... Joke Controllers? Or Joke / Pun Dominators?

:P And yep, still goin' :). As i've said elsewhere, I'm tolerating CO. In game they have a raid, but, I wouldn't recommend any else come play it rn, nerfs are a' flyin'.

Dune was 1984, Star Trek IV was 1986, according to google.
I used CIT before they even joined the Titan network! But then I left for a long ol' time, and came back. Now I edit the wiki.

I'm working on sorting the Lore AMAs so that questions are easily found and linked: http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Lore_AMA/Sorted Tell me what you think!

oddly enough, one of them had Patrick Stewart, and not the one n00bs would think.

It's probably GOOD they had nerfs. I quit (2 or 3 years ago) because almost everything was way too easy, except for one or two things which were nearly impossible. It was horribly out of balance. Maybe the devs finally decided to fix it.

Thunder Glove

Well, yeah, they "fixed" it in the sense that now everything is harder (and the nearly-impossible stuff is now just flat-out impossible).

I would make the arguement that the game is LESS balanced than ever before, actually.  None of the balance changes make any sense and seem to have been made to appease those who hated others for using any 'good' powers.  It's nothing but nerfs for the good powers, and no real sense or respect for thematics or anything.

All they did was gut two gun to make it unusable and useless, while only giving minor buffs to "heavy weapons" that shoe-horn you into using fire.

Sure, it makes CO 'harder' for some, but it's also punishing players who wish to do anything that was already difficult to begin with, and even more punishing for archtypes.  I logged on a few nights ago, likewise, less than 200 people during PRIME time in MC.  So they are still driving players away.

You can see me make a few posts in this thread about it:
http://www.cohtitan.com/forum/index.php/topic,11668.0.html

I said it there, I will say it here.  It's balance is dictated by wanna be pro gamers who are really just prudes in disguise and nothing more :/.  And it's killing the games business.

Edit: I think it's also good if this topic(CO's bad state of balance and faulty balance attempts drive people away) of discussion is continued there.
Currently; Not doing any streaming, found myself with less time available recently.  Still playing starbound periodically, though I am thinking of trying other games.  Don't tell me to play mmohtg's though please :).  Getting back into participating in VO and the successors again to.

ah, the pay to win model at it's worst. gotta nerf that content to make it interesting for our paying customers (while alienating people who don't pay).

meh, I still got my behemoth with my glitched force-field bubble thingy comes through in a boss fight. don't play much though, in fact every time I do it's just "it's just not the same, and doesn't fill that craving I get" the only thing that works for me is making stuff..

All scifi movies should have Patrick Stewart in them.  It should be an actual law.  Patrick Stewart should play Lex Luthor in the Justice League movies.  Patrick Stewart should play Oscar Goldman in the Six Million Dollar Man.  Patrick Stewart should play Slimer the Ghost in the Ghostbusters reboot.

I still mourn the fact that it is likely we'll never see Patrick Stewart as Spider Jerusalem.

I'd definitely be down with that. Or if he's unavailable then perhaps any person living or dead other than Jesse Eisenberg. I'd also be willing to consider applications animals and inanimate objects.

Remaugen

I think Dune was the first time I can recall ever seeing Patrick Stewart, he pulled off Gurney Halleck so well that no one else can ever own that role.
We're almost there!  ;D

The RNG hates me.

JoshexProxy

The first time I remember hearing Patrick Stewart was in a little known role he usually doesn't get credit for;

the narrator in the record "Return to the Center of the Earth" (by Rick Wakeman)

good listen if you can find it, I have never seen a digital version.

The most Steven Wright thing I ever did in the game was make an alt called OFFLINE so that in the days before global hide I could log on with OFFLINE and I would appear at a glance to be offline in everyone's global friends lists.
Comedy gold.

Costume Designer needs that wild Steven Wright hair. . .
