I'm going to toss my 2 cents in and say... I liked the new Dredd movie. It was fun.

Seconded.

In retrospect the Thing Ring was much more user friendly.

Oh, god.  I've been watching this show recently, since I loved it as a kid (mainly due to the actual transformation sequence) and I found the whole thing on YouTube.

Several episodes reveal that "Benjy" is really the adult Ben Grimm stuck in a scrawny teenage body, which is something I'd thought I'd remembered from back then, but a couple of episodes make it clear that that's the case.

(In turn, that makes it a bit creepy that Benjy has a crush on and keeps trying to get together with a school-age girl, the older daughter of the scientist who accidentally turned him into a teenager in the first place.  Fortunately, she's not interested in him, and he seems to show no interest in her as the Thing.  There's definitely some "The Mind Is The Plaything Of The Body" going on there)

Er... anyway.  Back to Dredd.

So interesting to see the wild swings between subjects and themes that this thread takes over time.

Yeah, i was sort of disappointed that most of the buildings were less than 80 stories, but it was true to the source material otherwise and a fun romp.
Unlike that Stallone excrescence.
So far so good. Onward and upward!

I have never seen either Dredd movie all the way through.  And the first one I keep getting mixed up with Demolition Man, anyway.

The one where his sidekick is the woman with hair that's... no, that won't work.

The one where he plays a police man that has issues with... no, that's not helpful either.

The one where ... no, he always does that.

... The one with Taco Bell is Demolition Man.

And so is the one with Pizza Hut! ;)

There's definitely worst movies to emulate than The Raid. I don't remember the last time I was that enthused and engrossed in a fight scene. Probably Police Story.

Hope you never saw Highlander 5: The Source, it was worse then Highlander 2

Quote from: Arcana on June 30, 2015, 08:16:23 PMNPCs rarely moved quickly enough for players to notice, but in PvP you could fire projectiles at targets capable of moving at or exceeding the visual speed of the projectiles.  They could even outrun them (but you could not outrun the attack's effects: effects hit you at a predetermined time if the power successfully rolls tohit (or is autohit).  The visual representation was independent of that.

I had one incident in Independence Port where my AR/EM Blaster was fighting a group of Red Ink Men, and I had fired an M80 grenade at the last survivor of the spawn just before he used his Siphon Speed ability and decided that running was his best option. I watched the grenade arch over the top of its trajectory and start down as he drained my speed and took off, and the grenade made at least a 45° turn in mid-air, arcing back up as it followed him off into the distance where I lost sight of both. After several seconds, I got the XP credit for defeating him.

Quote from: Solitaire on July 01, 2015, 07:04:16 AMMalta Sappers had the same effect, whenever teaming against Malta first targets would be the Sappers, the Malta were one of my favourite Villain groups.

And it was always such fun to Confuse them, and let them start sucking the End away from their team before you actually engaged them; it made the fights so much less annoying.

I never thought, before seeing that movie, that I would ever say that Stallone had too much facial animation for a role...

Agreed.  It was like watching the cast of the tv show playing a d&d session....without the fun.  It definitely did not adhere to the original concept.

To make it worse the TV cast wasnt originally slated to be in it, it was supposed to be 4 new immortals questing after their origins.  Then Duncan and the TV cast get pasted into the plot.

Between Highlander 5 and how HIghlander 4: Endgame turned out, Adrian Paul last I heard is pretty much DONE with the franchise.    Can't say as I blame him.

Recently rewatched a story from Doctor Who called Underworld, starring the Fourth Doctor.

In it, the people he met had shields that could reflect beams and the shields also had a beam emitter on them to return fire.

Made me wonder how that could work for the shield set if shield throw couldn't be done.

Well, it's the fourth and I am not playing COH and seeing/hearing drones explode four times.  I miss the game beyond reason.

You and America :)

Seriously though, I wonder if NCSoft ever stops to think at what a mistake they made by shutting it down when they could have just dissolved Paragon Studios and left the game in maintenance mode until new devs could be found.
