Wait, so now that NCSoft have avoided the hostile takeover by having Netmarble on their side, they are holding back the CoH IP sale because maybe their allies might get a better offer and change sides?

I am asking becuase if that is true, it sounds very very close to the IP sale deal being completely dead.

I don't think that was stated as exactly what the issue is. We were speculating as to why ncsoft is still fretting over nexon even though they (ncsoft) have controlling interest.
If I was a Jedi, there's a 100% chance that I'd use The Force inappropriately.

I am a fan of this sentence. More sentences should be like this one.

Positively preposterous proclamations push past prohibitively pacified pastimes, proudly promoting potential playfulness. :D

Why isn't NCSoft just letting the game go? Why dont they sell it? They closed the game for no good reasons at all, they didn't explain to 100% why they did it. They never gave the game or the fans a chance. Why can't they just sell the game now? They dont like the game, they are letting it rot somewhere and the game is fading away for every day that goes. They have absolutely nothing to do with it, why not just sell the IP to the fans who wants to reopen it and play the game to have fun a relive their memories. Are they so damn evil?
There was a time when the heroes of Paragon City fought against various of criminals. All of the criminals protected one thing that saved their lives at the end, the New Criminal Software(NCSoft). When the heroes finally got the NCSoft, they thought they saved the world. But little did they know that this was the criminals plan from the beginning, to create something so deadly that once a hero touches it, all heroes gets deleted. I actually would set it to 0 lol.  And then make it a theme of the character

He would be an arch villain.

He'd have to carry some kind of stupidly, stupidly, stupidly, wildly over-sized weapon as compensation.

... well, like most characters in most MMORPGs
(hsst... Titan weapons)

I'm glad you said it and not me.   ;)  Let's face it, it's been looking more and more like that for months, if it was ever truely alive at all in the first place and not just a ruse to string us along and keep us quiet.

Well, cheer up, because we're no worse off than we've been since the shutdown, really.  We do still have SCoRE, as well as the spiritual successors.  It's mainly APR that was in production that's up the creek.  But it sure seems like Nate's initial "hey, they may be just stringing us along to keep us quiet so another PR disaster doesn't break out" possibility he mentioned in his original "mask" post was right on the money after all.

Either way, I still appreciate every effort from every team, and I still can't stand NCSoft just like it's been for forever now, lol.  I'm glad I never supported Wildstar or went back to Aion or GW2 as of the shutdown announcement.

Just make him drive a massive 7 miles to the gallon pickup(bigger the better) like a complete moron(cutting in front of people, driving between cars ect) to.  And roleplay him as super angry all the time acting super big all the time.  That way people know he's compensating :).
Currently; Not doing any streaming, found myself with less time available recently.  Still playing starbound periodically, though I am thinking of trying other games.  Don't tell me to play mmohtg's though please :).  Getting back into participating in VO and the successors again to.

Actually, if this is true, then we are worse for the wear.  One truly never hits bottom until he has been offered hope, then had it ripped away.  Hurts a lot more than never having had hope to start with.

Sort of like the time i wrote up a one sentence summary of the Shonen jump formula: Plucky pre-teen protagonist possessing prodigious potential pummels progressively puissant people pursuing perilous powers periodically proposing post-fight partnerships pursuing priorities per philanthropic predilections.

i have a predilection for p-based alliteration because of the percussive pacing it promotes. T and k at times as well.

Hmm, philanthropic doesn't work as well from a pronunciation perspective, perhaps a similar synonym?
So far so good. Onward and upward!

Off-topic random question: was it possible to earn progress towards debt badges at 50?

I would admit that even I am getting a little cranky.  If it was not for all the dick and fart jokes in this thread I might take my turn at having a tizzy over the delay.... or I will just back to painting the house and other summer projects.

Honestly, the person who solves this riddle is getting me to send them a donut.

It's funny you say that because part of my original joke was going to say something about a big pick up truck but I didn't want to offended any truck drivers that may be around in the community.

Hehehe, I see large pickup drivers driving like morons all the time.  Ahem, examples...

Scared of driving into a drive way just cause the driveway is only one inch higher than the road out of fear of damaging the truck......

....cutting in front or cutting others off...

....Running red lights with people turning onto another road or crossing it....(constantly in this state)

...Dropping a rock out the window to hit the car behind them for no reason late at night.....

....attempting to run over an 8 year old boy that is just riding his bicycle in a parking lot for no reason then cheering on running away after nearly hitting a bloody metal pole.....(if thats oddly specific, well, that was years ago and I still remember that from that young)

....Later in said 8 year old boys life when he's older said now-adult finds some jackpancake somewhere decided that deliberately hitting bicyclists is funny on the news not even a year after moving to NM.....

....and apparently got away with it(GHRRRRRRR *Ultra violent vengeful thoughts*!)

....yeah.....:/

(Note that I'm not as bothered by those who are not idiots, just those that are more likely to kill someone with such a massive chunk of metal who seem to think the world revolves around them)

Not an option in CoX... no vehicles.  But then I don't want to get you started on CO again.

I don't think that is likely, given NCSoft and Paragon Studios were perfectly willing to layoff core CoH devs before the shutdown.  Furthermore, if NCSoft wanted Paragon Studios to focus exclusively on City of Heroes itself, why were they willing to consistently approve Paragon hires that were obviously not for CoH?  The impression I got was that NCSoft had to sign off on Paragon hires, as they were in fact all NCSoft employees.

Quote from: Codewalker on June 19, 2015, 07:07:08 PM
The part I'm not sure about is exactly how high in the chain the approval had to come from. Did NCSoft Korea sign off on the hires for those projects, or did NC West (which was subsequently dismantled)?

I actually thought Paragon had some level of control over this themselves from what I experienced the couple times I applied for positions. 1: if NCSoft West or Korea had a say there would be NO ONE hired who didn't have a degree. there is a significant amount of Degree nazism in Asian gaming companies and their US branches (even and especially Nintendo of America) the fact that I know some people got hired without it tells me NCSoft didn't have to sign off on it at any level. Then again I guess it depends on the position you apply for.

I remember having conversations on Justice United channel about "crotchless Statesman".  It was so distracting.  That is all I could look at.  The lack of "junk".  I hope when we get the game back, they can give him something in his pants.  After all, he is Statesman.  He should be well endowed.  LOL.

I never actually noticed that. then again, All Magic Comes with a Price, guess we now know what statesman had to pay for his.

In fact, I actually did an analysis that concluded the minimum bust size setting was a little on the high size of B (this was surprisingly tricky to do).  However, in terms of bust size to overall size, statistically speaking the slider started above the 50 percentile for humans.  There was definitely no way to push the slider to "needs magnifying glasses."  It was impossible even to make a low B or an A.  About the only thing I could say was that the statement some made that the slider couldn't go below a C or D was false.  Barely.

Of course, given the fact that bra sizes range from discontinuous to completely random, its not exactly a precise statement to say that the CoH characters bottomed out at a B.

Ah, god bless blender and shapekeys. can't wait till I get to the female base model settings and sliders in bane. seeing people make comments like this about obvious stereotyping problems in city or anything else always gives me motivation to do it right myself.

so many things I want to work on, so few hours in eachday, and so many distractions and daily upkeep tasks.

That depends on the family.

from what we discussed on world chat and what it took for my tanks comedy hour to come to an abrupt stop with "Joshex, stop it or I'm going to block you" I would say world chat stopped being all family friendly a long time ago and assumed a distinct NSFW + should be at least Teen to play status.

after all we all knew there was a anti obscenity option for chat but it was much funner to actually be able to read your teams comments and know whats going on during missions. (Yes I'm implying obscenities were that frequent)

There is always another way. But it might not work exactly like you may desire.

A wise old rabbit once told me "Never give-up!, Trust your instincts!" granted the advice at the time led me on a tripped-out voyage out of an asteroid belt, but hey it was more impressive than a bunch of rocks and space monkies.
