The impression I got was that NCSoft had to sign off on Paragon hires, as they were in fact all NCSoft employees.

The part I'm not sure about is exactly how high in the chain the approval had to come from. Did NCSoft Korea sign off on the hires for those projects, or did NC West (which was subsequently dismantled)?

So am I the only one who didn't like the new login screen and character screens(including creation)? I love the older ones, the new ones felt kinda out of place.

Same here, and the old music too (i17 version). I thought the new music was too melancholy.

The blue background looks dated to me as a login screen compared to the ~I20/I21 Statesman vs. clockwork (would have been better if it was Recluse imo), or even crotchless Statesman, but I *did* like the old music better. I miss that music.

All of the artwork that came out for the monthly story arcs "Who will die...?" was so fantastic!  I agree that the logon screen should have changed at a minimum with each new issue.  Fan art, Comic book professionals, ANYTHING to contribute to COH lore and product visibility was needed.

I remember having conversations on Justice United channel about "crotchless Statesman".  It was so distracting.  That is all I could look at.  The lack of "junk".  I hope when we get the game back, they can give him something in his pants.  After all, he is Statesman.  He should be well endowed.  LOL.

We had a slider for female breast size maybe a slider for male package size?   :o

At one time PS was interested in having players contribute to the load screens, like the tips that showed on them.  I don't know if that fell by the wayside, or if not enough players were interested in contributing or what, but I thought that would have been a good way to keep those fresh.

I also wish they were a lot more context sensitive.

They held a contest for the zone loading screens: http://www.engadget.com/2010/08/23/city-of-heroes-hosts-contest-for-player-created-loading-screens/

Not sure if that's what you meant when you say "at one time they were interested" but I do recall it actually going through, and for the zones, anyways, player created loading screens were used.
I used CIT before they even joined the Titan network! But then I left for a long ol' time, and came back. Now I edit the wiki.

I'm working on sorting the Lore AMAs so that questions are easily found and linked: http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Lore_AMA/Sorted Tell me what you think!

Oddly enough, I just didn't spend a lot of time pondering this issue when the game was still live...

Value Scale
0 (Need a Magnifying Glass)  <---------->  10 (Is That a Zucchini or Are You Just Happy to See Me?)

Something like that?  ;)

Every single male player would just whack (ooer) it up to 10. :P

If it mirrored the breast slider, it should really go from "Zucchini" to "Camera stand."

I believe, but can't confirm, that the top of the immediate food chain was NC Interactive.  But I have to believe that at least in general terms NC corporate had to approve general things like the overall budget of Paragon Studios and the approximate number of people they had (and generally what they were there for).

That's silly. There is definitely a b cup option.

I don't think that is likely, given NCSoft and Paragon Studios were perfectly willing to layoff core CoH devs before the shutdown.  Furthermore, if NCSoft wanted Paragon Studios to focus exclusively on City of Heroes itself, why were they willing to consistently approve Paragon hires that were obviously not for CoH?  The impression I got was that NCSoft had to sign off on Paragon hires, as they were in fact all NCSoft employees.

As I recall, the job postings explicitly stated that they would be working on a new game/IP, so I think it's really unlikely that Paragon was trying to slip them under the NCSoft radar.  If they were, it reflects poorly on them for having done it so poorly, and it reflects even worse on NCSoft for not catching it immediately.

In fact, I actually did an analysis that concluded the minimum bust size setting was a little on the high size of B (this was surprisingly tricky to do).  However, in terms of bust size to overall size, statistically speaking the slider started above the 50 percentile for humans.  There was definitely no way to push the slider to "needs magnifying glasses."  It was impossible even to make a low B or an A.  About the only thing I could say was that the statement some made that the slider couldn't go below a C or D was false.  Barely.

Of course, given the fact that bra sizes range from discontinuous to completely random, its not exactly a precise statement to say that the CoH characters bottomed out at a B.

Yikes... and we all thought maneuvering through the cave missions was tough before...

What if Netmarble changes heart and decides Nexon has a better deal?

It's just business - nothing personal.

Yeah, but that could happen at anytime in the future. All nexon needs to really do is publicly announce that they are willing to pay $$ above what the current going rate for ncsoft shares are and take it that way. If it hasn't happened by now, it's not going to happen.

Someone needs to grow a set at ncsoft and start conducting business as usual. Nexon had their chance and they blinked.
