I wish I was well slotted for patience right now.  Increasingly finding that every time I play something, I'm thinking about what I'd rather be playing.

Mmhmm. It's pretty bad.

I wish there was something we could do to help speedy along the process (besides waiting patiently). Maybe I could travel to South Korea and deliver presents to the NCSoft exec's. You know. In hopes of persuading them?

Let's think of ideas for presents. I have a knitted blanket that the dog has been chewing at all day and a Taylor Swift album.

COH saved me from Ffxi back in the day so I took a while to try 14. I just now booted it up. It looks great and is miles more user friendly than the 2003-2004 version I used to play.

If anyone has a Coh-centric server or guild let me know.

Every time I think of FFXI I think of a conversation with my roommates.   CoH was brand new and roommate 1 was playing FFXI and roommate 2, who at the time wasn't playing any mmos

RM2: So what are you guys doing?
RM1: I'm killing sheep
Me: fighting zombies and mad doctors
Rm2: *points at me* he wins

Later

Rm2: what are you doing now
RM1: still fighting sheep
Me: beating up nazis
RM2: he wins again
RM1: but they're giant sheep!
Me: the nazis have flamethrowers and chain guns
RM2: He still wins

No other MMO comes close :)

QuoteI've been playing Lego superhero games and Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep instead.

I was thinking about picking up Lego Marvel Heroes (or a title similar to that) for xbox 360. But wasn't sure if it was worth it.

Have any titles you'd recommend for PC or xbox 360?

Wonder if their into obscure gaming..... I've got a copy of Suikoden 1 for the PS that I could chip in and all the Xeno Sagas. BUT THEY'LL NEVER GET MY SHIN MEGAMI TENSIE COLLECTION NEVER!!!!

Vee

I've enjoyed all the Lego games i've played. Wouldn't recommend paying full price for them, though they've gotten bigger with every one they've released. also they just added 3 more games to that already great star wars humble bundle i mentioned earlier.

Though now that you mention it maybe i need to dust off my Suikodens. Loved the first but never got around to playing through the rest of them.

FFXIV has been my poison of choice for almost a year now. It started out a little content-scarce, but SE has been releasing content at a great rate. I've been hooked on the crafting system, which is very complex, for the last 2 months, but I also have Summoner/Scholar and Ninja at 50. I can't wait for the Golden Saucer in 2 weeks. Triple Triad and chocobo racing FTW.

I picked up the CE for the Realm Reborn launch on PS3, played it for a little bit but hated how bad the launch was. Couldn't even create a character until the 3rd or 4th day because the servers were so packed. Finally got onto Cactuar server, made a few chars, got them up to 10 then got bored. Just started playing it again, got it upgraded to PS4 and got a PC license as well. Honestly, the PC version is a lot better and easier for me to play (even trying to use board and mouse on PS4 is a hassle). I had heard about the upcoming expansion and wanted to try Dark Knight, but it seems we still have a bit of a wait for that. Still, it is a fun game so far, will probably stick with it for a while. Hopped over to Ultros server to play with friends though.

Lego Marvel is a great, highly-polished title, if you're a fan of the Marvel world you'll enjoy this game.  Set up as much more of an open-world experience since you can fly all over NYC exploring.

If you have a choice, though, play it on the PC.  The loading times on the 360 are excruciatingly long, my son and I own the game on both PC/360 and watching the loads on the 360 is just painful.  Also, Steam routinely has the game on sale for $5.

Hah.  Yeah, it's frustrating to feel like the only thing to do is try to keep the vibes positive and wait.  I keep my fingers crossed for good news, though I know it's possible we won't hear anything at all for some time.

I don't know if I can beat the blanket and Taylor Swift album.  Besides...I want to keep my Taylor Swift albums.  :)

Maybe I can acquire some puppies.  Puppies always work right?

If the Suikoden games only one and two are really worth it.  3 and 5 are kind of meh. They're OK but not as good as the first.  Never did beat 5 come to think of it.... or Tactics for that matter...  and then 4 was horrible..  that was a slog to get anywhere. Sailing your ship/fortress anywhere took forever and then throw in the constant random battles even with the "let them go" option when you become so much higher in level than the monsters, the long load times with the high frequency of attacks when all you really want is to tack back and forth for a hour to get to the neighboring island so you can recruit the maid made the game tedious.  Although the reason I never got around to beating 5 and Tactics was CoH :).

And the first two games are available on PSN now in case anyone hasn't tried them.  Or don't want to ust off the PS1, They are incredible JRPGs.

Mmhmm. Although, I will say - I think it's smart that Nate has obtained a 'mums the word' policy with any/all official updates regarding how the negotiations are going. Honestly, that is by far the smartest way to go about communicating to the community with something like this. Facebook and social media has made crowd control SUPER difficult.

...But still. This waiting. UGH. What a marathon! I need water. And hell yes, puppies. Puppies and kittens. Small animals always make for great coaxing.

Oh I agree.  Any little thing in the negotiations could send the community into ridiculous drama if it was public.  There isn't much point in saying something until there's something concrete to say.  And yet, what I wouldn't give to be a fly on the wall...

I guess the one thing I'd really like to know is whether we're at "almost done; working out the details," "nowhere close; going to be ages yet," "talks have totally stalled," or what have you.  I don't suppose there would be a good answer to that even if one was able to give it, however.

I'll get to work on the puppies and kittens.

I think this is NCSoft's doing. They don't want a repeat of the last Hail Mary attempt.

The emails, masks and other stuff were not well recieved by NCSoft. They saw it more of a hinderance to doing business and wasted man hours than as a plea from the fan base. A lot of emotions were running high and it was personal rather than a business deal. If you are going to run the game and make enough of a profit to keep the doors open - you need to have the business mindset - not the gamers.

I will be playing the Powerball tonight - I think I could make the needle move with $400 million.

I know right?  It seems mmorpgs just suck at coming up with something meaningful right away, and often many people wonder why single player games often end up far more popular and end up with far more players.  Or why shooters have so many playing the multiplayer game, it's often because they give much better gratification earlier on and because they just tend to be funner earlier on.

City of heroes was smart in that, it was able to avoid the "kill these puny rabbits" or "kill these sheep" early in the game, instead you were fighting thugs, nazis, and zombies right off the bat.  Then the game just upped the ante right away as enemies started getting either heavy weaponry, super powers, or most often both.  You had so many nuances with the enemy groups you were constantly having to changed strategy to deal with them, which was a very nice touch.
Currently; Not doing any streaming, found myself with less time available recently.  Still playing starbound periodically, though I am thinking of trying other games.  Don't tell me to play mmohtg's though please :).  Getting back into participating in VO and the successors again to.

About 337 million cash out option that gets nailed with a 25% (I believe) fed withholding and then you deal with the state.....still a bunch of $$$$  8)  Gotta play to win!!!

Oh, of course - I'm sure most of us would love to be made privy to that information haha. Totally agree. But, as you mentioned, that's probably not even an answer Nate - and whomever else is on the inside of the negotiations - could accurately gauge at this time. Or, even if that's something he might be able to estimate, I could still foresee him opting not to disclose it in the chance that something goes awry, i.e. running the risk of people on social media being all "BUT YOU SAID THIS AND AND THAT AND NOW IT'S NOT HAPPENING WAAAAAH".

On a couple side notes, I found myself absently combing through Virtueverse last night and came across Ascendant's page. Dammit, he was a fantastic player. Are there still tentative/possible plans to have us pay homage to him if COH gets ported to Unreal 4? With some type of statue of him somewhere? I vote yes. Both hands.

And can we pweeeeeease call it City of Heroes 2, and not 1.5? Lmao. Or City of Heroes: Freedom Reborn? Or something? What say you? SPEAK, I DEMAND IT!!! I know this has been discussed on these forums before - maybe it's just the fact that I work in marketing and I'm particularly anal about brand/logo advertisement...and maybe it's too soon to even seriously be addressing this...

Now I want a kitten.

I do, though, wish there had been a few more enemy groups.  Sure the groups ramped up, but it started to get a bit tiring fighting the same 4 or 5 groups over and over.

BTW, what was the name of that last new zone that was added, the horror-themed one?  I went there with a toon or two, found it relatively deserted and scampered away after just a few missions.  I wish I had explored more.  It seemed like it would be a fun zone.  Now, I don't even remember how to get to it.  It was a wormhole behind the Arena in... Talos Island?

Let's not be foolish now.   :)  I want COH back, too, but I think I'd find other expenditures of $400 million (or what's left after governments get their cut).  Although, I might be willing to earmark some of it for "greasing the wheels of certain business negotiations", or maybe helping one of the indie projects move along.  Not that I'll win, I don't buy tickets for "tax the poor" lotteries.
