I was on Virtue in Atlas until other people logging in started imploding the server, in the end I couldn't get back into Virtue so I shifted to Exalted and went into Ourborus to quietly await the end among the trees and waterfalls of one of the floating islands.

All the time sad to see the game go and also cursing NCSoft for closing the game down.

I think one thing bogging down Virtue was people trying to start Incarnate trials. A whole league of us kept trying to run UG earlier that evening - I REALLY WANTED to go out running UG, gods how I loved that Trial - and finally us and the other 500 people trying to do the same thing figured it out. Then we all stopped. Er, our league did.

I had a replica of my villain main on every server, most no higher than level 12, to camp her rather distinctive name. I should have logged off and re-entered on a calmer server, facing into the sunset either from the roof of the Port Oakes arena, or from the main Grandville gates.

I know nothing happens fast in business - I work in a hospital, and a bigger example of bureaucracy you would go far to find - but I am really impatient for NC to sign already. Even as I know this is not a realistic expectation.

Emergency Evaluation Unit: "Don't worry, the doctor is up there right now waiting to see you!"

[Patient gets to the floor, of course the Dr is nowhere to be found at 3 am. Lol as if.]

Patient: "WHAT DO YOU MEAN, HE's NOT UP HERE! I AM LEAVING AMA!" *big sigh*

*against medical advice

Trying hard to hang in there... what choice do we have, really.

I check back here praying for an ETA. When we get an announcement, that's when I submit my vacation request form.

One way or another, when the date is announced I am taking the entire week off from work.
I don't care if I use sick pay, bereavement, vacation time, whatever. I WILL RETURN

I wonder if anyone will notice if I don't get any work on Revival done that week...

They would miss you if you weren't in game.
We're almost there!  ;D

Tough choice, play the game or work on revival.......

The call of the game, singing to you "play me, rebuild your characters" vs. the duty of revival.....

I'd think of revival as... city of heroes; rebuild the city mode.....does that work?
Currently; Not doing any streaming, found myself with less time available recently.  Still playing starbound periodically, though I am thinking of trying other games.  Don't tell me to play mmohtg's though please :).  Getting back into participating in VO and the successors again to.

I wish they would sign the dotted line to, getting bored of oblivion.  Would play skyrim(which I like more) but there is a mod coming up that'd make me have to start my characters over from scratch.
Is that the Skywind mod that's been in the works for a while?

The mod i'm waiting for is Perkus Maximus, the successor to skyrim redone :).  I'm looking forward to it, as i'm kind of tired of the current characters, in a sense.  Altmer channel magicka in skyrim redone gets old as it can get so OP after a while(and gets overpowered early on to).

I used to play City of Heroes like you, but then I took a shut down to the knee.

I was playing one of my CO toons, and realized that something that I'll miss, in going back to CoH, is some of the costume-piece differences. After getting to make a Western toon (cowboy/cowgirl) with belt holsters in CO, I don't look forward to having to do without them in CoH. :/ (Even the Gunslinger belt didn't have holsters!) Without the holsters, my cowboy is just a plain toon in a vest and a cowboy hat. Other pieces that I've wanted, and will miss, include a hardhat for my former-construction-worker earth dom (some NPCs had hardhats, but we didn't get them?), and a non-leather trenchcoat for my dual-pistols private eye. Overall, CoH is my favorite by far, and I'll be very happy to be "home" again, but there ARE things that CO did better.

yeah but that's a new armor set, what about energy armor, super reflexes, electric, invul?

That's the wrong question.  The right question to ask is how did the Bio Armor designer get permission to break the crashing rule for tier 9 defensive powers.

The answer is: are you sure there was still such a rule?  Because in I24 that rule was being relaxed for tier 9 nukes as well.  A lot of people on beta believed that Bio was a sign that at the next powerset review for melee defensive sets that rule was going to go away just like it did for tier 9 nukes.

Arbiter Hawk, I should mention, believed crashing was a quality of life gameplay issue.

I hear what you are saying, but the ramification make it indecipherable. If all T9 armor powers lost their crash, they would, obviously, become much better. This leads to the idea that any non-crashing T9 power would have to have been reviewed to make sure balance is maintained. In which process, they quite possibly would have been forced into Buffing Regen! Now having mained a regen scrapper, I would have danced like mad over such an occurrence, but minutes later the world would have ended. I think you can see the conundrum we're faced with here in light of that statement.

Thunder Glove

I seem to remember them actually saying that they were considering removing crashes from T9 Defenses, but that was still a way off.

In Icon, you can see that most T9s now have an extra sentence in their descriptions saying that if you also have Relentless (the new T5 power from the Leadership pool), they wouldn't crash anymore, but that turned out to be too powerful, so it was reverted (but the descriptions hadn't yet been changed back).

But for the newer sets (Bio Armor, and the incomplete Radiation Armor, also in Icon), you can see that they were moving away from the "big protection, big crash" mentality of the old T9s (though even the crash severity of the old sets were more or less in proportion to the protection).  Even Sorcery's T5 was a rather nice crashless "oh crap!" button, but not as powerful as most T9s.

Same reason Titan Weapons was allowed to deal such a ridiculous amount of damage -- it was a pay-for set.

Of course you're not going to work on Revival that week, anyone expecting you to turn your back on reviving your favorite toons ASAP is frankly.... not very bright. You will be right there with the rest of us, hopefully - and that is as it should be.

I don't know if I will take an entire week off, but making sure I have at least three days straight off for reopening sounds like a plan.
