Here's to all the CoH dreams.  :)

For more fun, does anyone recognize himself/herself from the below shot?  I'm, of course, centered: the Santa with the torch.  The shot was taken at 2:58 AM on the night of closing, on Justice.

I will probably end up spending the first 24 hours just standing in Atlas Park, with the music and the sound on, just soaking it all in that I'm finally back there. And chatting with 50 people at once while tells scroll by in my chat window like the numbers on the NYSE.

That's interesting.  I'll admit I'm in a big hurry to get my characters back...but I'll probably be hanging out in Atlas for a while myself....just soaking it all in.

I'm stunned at how fast people can level when they put their minds to it. From fedex exploiting the 2nd arc in Croatoa to Fire imps in AE... It's just stuff I never thought of or knew of. Any one remember how elobrate snake egg farming was to set up?
Somehow I missed all those things.   So clueless about PL'ing.   At least I know how to play a Fire/Kin so I'll probably just go that route.

The worst part of a Friday being the last night was I was playing a gig that night and missed it.  Killed me to log off around 5:00pm and rush to make the gig...thinking about CoH the whole time knowing I would never see it again.  :(

One thing I have learned is to never say never. Usually, when I have said "never again", I was proven wrong soon afterwards.

Here's to hoping that you are proven wrong. ;-)

I was in AP on Champion at the end, we had a lot of fun that night, but it was brutally sad when it ended.
We're almost there!  ;D

The RNG hates me.

I have my reasons for starting a super team.  Something about a play through of the game.
Currently; Not doing any streaming, found myself with less time available recently.  Still playing starbound periodically, though I am thinking of trying other games.  Don't tell me to play mmohtg's though please :).  Getting back into participating in VO and the successors again to.

Well, one nice thing about the situation as it seems to stand right now.  If the Devs can't make changes to the
game code as it stood in Issue 23, at least they won't be able to add Nerfs to it, either!

i constantly hopped between Champion, Virtue, and Justice the final day, but about an hour before server shutdown i just logged off and went to bed.
Of course i started up the client the next morning just to confirm there'd been no last minute reprieve...

I have so many great memories from this game.

It takes a village to raise a child. And it takes a villain to explain the value of lunch money.

-Random CoHer: "Why does the sky turn green during Rikti invasions?"
-Me:"Rikti Monkey farts"
-Random CoHer: "I'm going to you for all my questions from now on!"

Almost 2 years and I still feel like such a big part of my life is missing. I go home every day from work and wish I could log onto Guardian. I miss everyone and everything.

It appears the code for Regen is still available.

They sure regen would need a nerf though?  I mean it had minimal damage mitigation, the player has to be especially fast to react and have good ping times to make it work :).

I was there on Justice at the end but I was an emotional wreck.  I didn't even make it to midnight.  I was crying too hard to stay around.  My son and his friends did though.

Quote from: Ironwolf on March 06, 2014, 03:01:32 PMmigrate people off of the classic game engine before it finally becomes unsuitable (we expect this to happen around when Windows 9 is released, due to binary compatibility.

I don't think I'm alone here when I say "windows 8 killed any compatibility issues by making OS consumers have no faith in windows OS products, it will be very hard for windows to market windows 9 after what they pulled with 8".

China (one of the biggest game consumers) will have no part of it after what Microsoft attempted to do in China. My GF's dad had a brand new windows 8 computer issued by the government that he had never used when a memo came from the gov that he needed to get rid of it immediately and couldn't use it for any gov related anything  followed by windows 8 OS disks and computers being recalled by the gov and shipped back to microsoft for a refund (which I think Microsoft protested, which only makes it worse).

Honestly ( I know it's been said before) I think once CoX returns NCSoft will see that it will stay profitable and maybe, maybe with a gentle nudge they will consider finishing the incarnate content or adding more to the game.

the other thing they could consider is contingent developments; content that has to be bought and keeps a play count and has a comment box. It's as simple as Devs make content, if no one buys it then they don't get paid, if people buy it then they get paid a predetermined percent of the total sales based on number of plays and the general overview of the comments like: 1: high sales, lots of plays, good comments/no comments [cause people are busy playing it] = 40%, 2: low sales or, not many plays or, negative comments = 0.1%. obviously I'm just making a distinction of how people can work on contingency the percents are just to illustrate a reward/punishment system.
There is always another way. But it might not work exactly like you may desire.

A wise old rabbit once told me "Never give-up!, Trust your instincts!" granted the advice at the time led me on a tripped-out voyage out of an asteroid belt, but hey it was more impressive than a bunch of rocks and space monkies.

Pretty sure he was riffing on the nerf regen meme.  Maybe you were, too?

You aren't the first one to think of that one.   :)   We can even openly discuss PLing tricks without fear.  I need to be making notes.
