auto-piloting servers can only go so far, even if you fix all the bugs in the code there can still be memory mishaps or physical hardware failure and freak accidents.

all that means is you need someone to baby sit it on call. and that costs money.

yeah typically the player base will pay enough to the game for it to be covered on average, However, the eventual dwindling of players as people "get comfortable" is inevitable, there will be months when people just don't play much and if they buy it will be Very Rare and I'm not referencing item rarity.

there is only one thing left but it's dangerous for the MMO industry as a whole; P2P MMOs rebuild the game to be calculated predominantly on the player-side with each connected machine pulling some of the server weight. naturally hacking will be unavoidable without some sort of sensor built into everyone's client to ignore hacked responses. if there is a server it needs to be minimalistic, like a first connect/log-in router: "these people are online, [IP Address, account name]"

That last part is usually achievable with proper watermarking and encryption but even then it'd be difficult to avoid.  Keys would also be important.

I know this feeling, I play secret world but I just cannot log on to just play anymore due to my mind wanting needing to play cox. I have stopped playing sto outside of doing doff missions, and all together I have stopped play champions. :(.
For me waiting I have been playing my single player games such as ffx, I forgot how great of a game it was plus I have been thinking about getting dead island 1 and 2.

Yeah...I tried it the day the F2P (not preorder early start) launched.  I waited in queue longer than I played ArchAge for.  I wish Trion luck with publishing it in NA, but I totally could not get into it.

Short Answer: A team is in negotiation with NC Soft to get the IP with a stable uneditable version of CoXi23

Alternative Short Answer: We play the waiting game while talking about food and other stuff.

Not sure if I mentioned already, but I am suffering the same problem.  I cannot play skyrim likewise, because perkus maximus comes out in a month.  So I'm even less inclined to play skyrim or skyrim redone, in a month I'll need to do a full reinstall again(to many mods installed to just make a transition).   

The problem is ultimately is that theres just to many things coming up for me to really fully enjoy games right now.

Good clarification.   That's the way I took it.   The "ball is in their court" part made it sound like they just accepted the information.
