I'd team with anyone that wanted to team.  I could care less about their build or their AT, and usually didn't even look.  My only question was "Want to have some fun?"

Any team drama situations were rapidly solved by quitting the team and making another.  I'm not in the game to deal with drama-llama's and whaaaaambulance chasers. :p

Save the drama for RP.

If powers are flying
and bad guys are dying
who cares what you bring to the table?

So stop with the flack
for fans of knockback
We're ready, we're willing, we're able.
The wisdom of Shadowe: Ghostraptor: The Shadowe is wise ...; FFM: Shadowe is no longer wise. ; Techbot_Alpha: Also, what Shadowe said. It seems he is still somewhat wise ; Bull Throttle: Shadowe was unwise in this instance...; Rock_Powerfist: in this instance Shadowe is wise.; Techbot_Alpha: Shadowe is very wise *nods*; Zortel: *Quotable line about Shadowe being wise goes here.* FFM: I think you're mostly wise in this instance, apart from one part.

Man am I the only one that since the 13ths update can hardly help but check once or twice a day at the front of the thread with crossed fingers?

Thanks again Ironwolf and Co, may all be the best for you and yours!

Even if I'm on a scrapper, stalker or brute, I don't mind KB on a team. A opponent who's on his back pockets is a harmless opponent. Plus, if I'm running a character like my cat-themed claws scrapper, KB gives me a chance to roleplay by "pouncing" after my "escaping prey".

I wonder if, maybe, some of those who will complain about KB might be doing so because it reduces their chance to rack up their personal kills total. For instance: "I'm a scrapper/brute. I can dish out AND take a lot of damage. But I'm not getting the chance to show it off." Do you think Ben Grimm gripes about not getting to clobber if Sue Storm throws guys around? They're a TEAM.

Linux. Because a world without walls or fences won't need Windows or Gates.

I found Mids, though an excellent utility for many, to be even MORE boring to use than respeccing!
I lived by Mids.  I would not even consider creating a character without fully speccing them out in Mids and carefully analyzing the build to L50.  Only if they seemed viable and compatible with my playstyle would they actually be created.  Getting a character to L50 was a considerable investment of time and effort for me, so best to make sure I wasn't wasting my time before putting in all that effort.

....I check too many times a day to count.  I also stalk the spiritual successors a little less frequently in the afternoon.  I cannot guess the number of lurkers out there with or without accounts checking this link, but I like to think there's at least a few.

Regardless how this turns out positive or otherwise thank you all involved including Titan network.

Every now and then my fat thumbs hit the report to moderator button.  Uhm, sorry about that. I think I may have just done that to myself just now.

While if you have great aoe attacks they are worthless when everything is scattered and can be frustrating or chasing mobs all over the screen can be annoying. It is real frustrating when you are in the middle of them and they get scattered. I personally hate Knockback with a passion even solo. Why I hated crane kick and all my MA scrappers stalled out

Nope. You are not alone.

Back before enhancement diversification one of life's greatest entertainments was Power Thrust 6 slotted with all knockback. You would then activated Power Boost (this was before they removed knockback enhancement from this power), and proceed to punt the low level minions in Atlas Park over buildings. That never got old.

Reading the way you guys played, I sometimes think I played the game wrong. :)

I realize I didn't because I played it the way that worked best for me, but some of the things you all did are mind blowingly full of win!

My favorite moment on a storm summoner, was when I was fending off a few groups of malta with a choke point and a bunch of stairs.  Almost by myself, as the team was focused on an AV, I was left busy defending their flank from ambushing malta operatives.  I ended up with an inspiration from that point on to always find places from then on where I could ambush the ambushers with storm powers, or even other abilities like time manipulation powers.

About 90% of my tactics for one AT, in many ways, was inspired by some tactic I ended up discovering on another AT, and because of that my builds and tactics always evolved over time.  I didn't use mids, I instead built to my preference within CoH, and using a notepad to draw out the critical parts of some build, rather than wasting time on the entire thing all at once, I came up with a scope of some things on that character and then expanded.  Every character build I made was hand written out.  I also kept to practical, rather then going for purple IOs on most builds, as I saw a small problem of "awesome yet impractical" with purple ios.  They just weren't needed for me to get my results.
Currently; Not doing any streaming, found myself with less time available recently.  Still playing starbound periodically, though I am thinking of trying other games.  Don't tell me to play mmohtg's though please :).  Getting back into participating in VO and the successors again to.

If you're having fun and not harming other players enjoyment of the game then you're playing it properly.

I would have fun with my masterminds doing emote shows. If you were on Freedom and saw a bots/pain doing "Bad Romance" , or "Jump in the line" that was me.
I learned so much with /pet commands and macros and timing, sadly I never recorded any of it  :'(

I hope I get the chance to use some of these tactics I am reading with all the knock back conversation.  The only knock back fun I can think of is a couple of well placed bonfires by different trick or treat groups.  Especially if larger groups and the timers hitting just right on multiple clicks.  However you need the right type of door:  something with an alcove or inset.  All these monsters come out and mostly immediately thrown into the air, but no where to go so they drop and throw back into the air again.  If the bonfires are not quite right the monsters get out just enough, get scattered and a team wipe(s) occurs.

You can have tons of fun with Telekinesis too. That's another one PUGs tended to hate because they didn't know what it was and how it worked. Totally different discussion, of course....

You ever been on a team with three perma or near PA Illusion controllers talk about chaos I thought the tank was going to  :'( or  >:( quit was not sure which one
I've had two perma-PA's, but not three. It got messy. That's why I make sure my tank has Scrappermode (that and for soloing) - pick out the target with the most KB resistance, tunnel-vision them, and if anyone looks like they're actually in trouble, bounce over there and get aggro.

I needed a project for when we get the game back, though. NRG/Storm Corr showing off the power of juggling could be just the thing. Or maybe Water/Storm, haven't tried Water, but it's all KU/KD, not KB.

And hey, I took Rise of the Phoenix. That's one of the biggest knockback/disorient powers in the game. And I swear by a single Stun Duration enhancement in it, to get the mez duration up over 15 seconds so the rest of the group can let the Awakening stun wear off.

Yes. Because the one thing this thread has done is stay on topic. :)

I always wanted to get TK to work for me well, but I just never got the hang of it. My positioning was always slightly off of what I wanted. I'd only get three instead of the 5 I wanted in it, or they would slide on the wall.

It was one of two powers that I always wanted to get to that happy fun place but couldn't.

That and Artic Air. AA always seemed like it was going to do more mitigation than it did and the end cost made me sad. I had high hopes for my ice/thorn dominator but she stayed stuck in her 20s up till the end.
Cogito, Ergo... eh?

hmmm... maybe a Water/Storm Corrupter... Dressed only in a red bathing suit... Calling her Baywatch? Or the dude version and just call him Hasselhoff. :)

Hah fair enough.  No need to respec if you are happy with you character :)

There was no wrong way to play  ;D Short of smashing your monitor with your keyboard while the game was running and shouting "I'm a hero!"  Even that still sounds kinda fun.......

I saved TK for AVs, mostly. I rarely used it when soloing, mainly because it seemed to function as an aggro-magnet.

Pursuant to nothing, I happen to be watching some BBC/BBCAmerica special on DVR that aired a day or two before Saturday's premiere, and the creation of the original theme from the William Hartnell era was being discussed, with the actual music playing in the background, as I happened to scroll by a post from Teikiatsu. I was struck by how eerily well the animation of his little figure dancing syncs with that piece of music. :)
I wouldn't use the word "replace," but there's no word for "take over for you and make everything better almost immediately," so we just say "replace."
