The special events really added to the game.

The thing that has made me leave other games are non-special events.

Like Rift's summer event, with its ridiculous un-fun campfest ("scavenger hunt" my butt...) at locales that you have to read a guide to find and that even with a guide can take stupid lengths of time to complete.  I've never loathed myself more for playing a game than I did in that event.

And that's coming from someone who's ended friendships with "Risk."

I miss the special events in CoH.  But then, I miss everything in CoH.

Can we please switch back to sending out good thoughts to the team, than keep thinking negatively that does no good. I know I was angry with what happened, by I stepped back and let myself calm down and restarted sending out positive thoughts again.

Also can we please start talking about pizza, my favorite is Hawaiian with extra pineapple :)

Gadgetry was not in I24. Sorcery was. Gadgetry, along with the other origin-related pools, was going to be released later. It doesn't have completed powers or animations.

I never cease to be amazed by this stuff. And people actually DO THIS?? They *pay* for special events. Lord, have mercy.

I remember our last "Halloween" event before closure, we had a ToT LEAGUE in PI and I think I leveled up at least ten levels in about an hour. There were so many effects going off it was like a Hami raid. The expees flowed like a fine wine, and it was all free, gloriously free.

The next place you could look to try and find out where I was a "troll" back in the CoH days is here on these forums (I joined in 2008), but I'm afraid the only things you'll find is posts about looking forward to the next iteration of Mid's Hero Designer and complimentary posts to the wonderful people who worked on that amazing program...

I understand ya, lots of different ways of trolling these days.  I mean people accused me of trolling on massively today when I mentioned I felt I was being trolled.  Would have had a lot of people on the ignore if they had it, the fact they didn't, yeah.  No more speaking of em.  Trolling is a grey thing :/.

Only posts from me currently of the games i'm playing will not be of any mmorpg right now.  Enjoying new vegas to much(especially with project nevada, though I didn't add the rebalance or equipment as I figure i'd rather just up the difficulty if I really wanted a difficulty increase), and truthfully I'd rather just limit my online social interaction to here for now.  And facebook, but i'm not going to go to any other site anymore.

I'd mess with mids, but I never used it when I played the game and made my builds, I had my math down in paper.  I'm left trying to remember now though, what did they have before mids?  I cannot seem to remember, was it always hero builder before mids?

I still want to make a beam rifle/devices blaster named redshirt man, and set a bunch of pre-death binds and deliberately get myself faceplanted all the time!

Edit: Speaking of redshirts, you'd think no one would want to serve on the enterprise or in starfleet with such a high casualty rate.  Like starfleet deliberately left safety guidelines out so people could serve as vengeance bait for the captains.

Can't play risk, to luck based.  I know the strategy of it, but the random number god always hits me at the crucial moment where I could win or lose.

Last time I played Risk, someone ended up with 100 troops on a single tile. We ended up using a Polly Pocket to signify that. At the time, I was too bottled up trying to stay alive in Asia and by the time anyone could have tried something against him...

Well, he had Polly Pocket.

Edit: We still have that Polly pocket in our Risk board in case something silly like that happens again.

Yeah I know the feeling, once in awhile I open Mids and tinker with new ideas and tune up old character builds.

As to the current news that progress is being made, that is good to hear and I hope NCSOFT truly has an open mind about selling the game unlike when the shutdown was announced.

of course, should CoH return there are questions that would need to be addressed ASAP that players will want to know:

1. Did our characters survive the shutdown or were all accounts wiped?  Starting over from scratch is a double-edged sword and there may be some that will not want to start over completely. 

2. Are all the servers returning at relaunch?

3. Subscription costs, etc.
