I'm really looking forward to playing CoX as it was, but I'm also looking forward to seeing what folks can do with CoX2 and the spiritual successors.  This sounds like so much fun, a game within a game.

And that is partly of why I will always consider CoX as the best game I've ever played. The versatility of how you can spend your time ingame; be it costume creator, base editor, grinding for phat l00tz, making fanart, videos... I don't need to go on, but that's why!

I've always maintained I'd pick up another game, most likely GW2, as soon as they've sold. The boycott will end and things will be back to treating them the same as any other company, with gaming decisions being made purely on the game itself, finances, and specs.

And then we haven't even -started- talking about the community and the life-long friends we've made. Wouldn't have that if it wasn't for the game (dammit, now I lost The Game). Now I can game and watch reality shite TV with my wife....best of both worlds woohoo

ps this will save me a lot of nagging and "you dont spend any time with me" black marks and I get to play THE best MMO ever....again !!!!

Yeah, the whole "You can do anything" aspect of CoX is what really turned me off of all other MMORPGs. I love TSW for so many, many things, but once you've cleared the content, there's:
- repeat content
- farm Tokyo
- farm Dungeons
- farm Simulations
- farm the single raid
- RP (If you're very, very lucky)

I played CoX for it's full duration and there was -still- content I hadn't gotten around to seeing.

question, if the game comes back, can I record a play through directly on to a flash drive? The reason I am asking is because my laptop has 500 gbs.

You can /demorecord. Doesn't take much HDD space, since it's not a video but rather a sequence of commands for the game engine.

Thank you :), I was reading and watching fraps videos and they were talking about needing a lot of hd memory. I can make my level 1 to 50 walkthrough :)

Isn't that part of the job during Beta?

I always thought that even if your beta has a lot of players, it's nothing compared to the amount a live environment has. Maybe not in this case, but generally.

I've been torn lately on whether to keep old character names or create new ones, if we don't get our data back. A part of me really wants to make all new characters, but I wouldn't want to take the name of someone's main either.  So what's the general consensus here, first come first serve or are the majority remaking their old characters?

BTW, I realize this is probably a moot  point since servers are likely to change..... but still,  I'm not sure if there's some etiquette involved here.

Assuming data is lost, first come first serve. That's how it was before, and even if you're nice enough to post somewhere "did anyone have ____ as their main?" There's a pretty good chance some other person wanted that name, didn't get it, and will swoop it from both you and the "original".

In the description it says: "The Metal Freak's devotion to the cause is obvious- he's had both arms replaced with robotic contraptions that are good only for destruction. He must rely on other Freaks to feed him, but in combat he is a whirling nightmare."

If other Freaks feed him, one assumes they take care of everything else, too.

Edit: Or maybe Excelsior makes them super constipated.

My main has asked that question, in RP, many many times.  In fact, she uses it to wind up Freakshow with such cutting remarks as "How many times has your buddy circumcised you so far?"

I don't know what I will do when the game comes back, other than actually have a PC game that I play again.  After CoH, I pretty much entirely dropped PC gaming and moved to the Xbox.  None of the other MMOs interested me.  Still have a lifetime membership for STO, but with the exception of logging in once every few months, I haven't done anything with it.

One thing I will probably do though, is actually run the hero side Respec trial.  I started playing shortly before I3, with very few breaks in subscription.  I had a bunch of characters, and yet not once in all the years of playing, did I ever do a respec trial.  I think that would be a fitting way to bring back my old characters.
