It seems that there are a few people who either do not understand or have never been involved in large business decisions.

When I was working for a large corporation, I was fortunate enough to be (indirectly) involved in several major decisions.

I have seen, first hand, that negative press (regardless of its source) can completely shut down a deal that would benefit all parties involved.  I have also seen good press push through a deal that would of otherwise never happened.

When you factor in the multi-national situation, members of the community who to this day have not buried the hatchet, and other intangibles, it is very possible that a good deal could go down in flames easily.

All people are asking is for the next few weeks that the noise level can be kept down and to refrain from any posts in public areas, including FaceBook, that may inadvertently hurt this deal.

From all the information we have been given the deal is close, but it is also in a very important phase and all sides much watch what they say and how they say it until the documents are signed.

Technically no, but you're getting pretty damn close to being finger-shaked at just for being repeatedly confrontational and getting as close to insulting and namecalling as you possibly can without actually putting your toe over the line, just so you can insist that you never actually did anything wrong or against the rules. Just FYI, our rules are VERY flexible and all the mods and admins here have total personal authority to delete posts or ban people (temporarily or permanently) for reasons that aren't stated in the rules. (Well, obviously, within reason.)

I have said more than once that this thread is supposed to be supporting the goddamned efforts to get City back. Now how the HELL do you think it supports our possible future devs to act like spoilt children?

I'm so sorry! I understand someone at John Hopkins is working on a cure for your condition. Other suffers inform that gargling with sulfuric acid helps with the taste.


(Seriously, my mother fed that to us when I was kid at least once a month. I hated it then and the intervening years haven't changed my taste for it. I try it every few years or so to see if I like it better (this happened with beets) but it always tastes  unimaginably dreadful.)

Nutritionally, liver ingots are superior and if you're stuck in the wilderness and unable to make a fire and thus cook, the liver is not only going to be the most nutritious meat ingot, but also apparently one of the more pleasant tasting.

In the post apocalyptic hellscape you envision I might eat liver if I had already eaten my belt and my little toe. So I am saying there is a chance I might it.

I would like to make the observation that you have not made that at all clear until this moment. I saw nothing on this thread that said we should all shut up until the ink has dried. Nor do I see a banner up top that pleads with us all to remain quiet until the deal is done. This thread grows too fast for me to keep up with every single post, and nor do I read it every day. If it's truly your desire that we all keep silent then it's only fair that you make sure that's communicated to absolutely everyone.

This is your space and if you don't want people saying certain things then that's your prerogative. I'll note that I haven't actually made any deliberately personal attacks on anyone here, though I have made my feelings for their opinions known. There are some here who haven't done the same with regards to their responses to me. But now I understand why I got called a troll. You thought I knew, but I didn't. Im curious about the deal right now. Is Ncsoft part of the deal? Like will thier logo be on the game still? Because that makes me wonder that perhaps maybe we will have our character data back. Well actually now that I think about it, What if the devs don't retain the original servers... then our character data is lost forever. Or maybe it is possible to transfer everything that was on the original servers to another, or to a Mega server or 2. As much as I am excited about the game returning I really hate starting over losing all that I have gained. I had so many characters that I want to jump on right now, but I cant. I hope our data get restored for sure!

If I were running this board, I'd put a big ol' banner up top asking everyone to please refrain from saying things against NCSoft or whatever during this time. You know, just to make sure everyone knew. I wouldn't just assume that everyone knew that already or leave it to regular posters, if it was that important. But what do I know, right?

Well, apparently I missed all of those conversations. And Ironwolf is not a mod and his word is not law here.
