When I first heard about this, I was skeptic.  It didn't take long for optimism to overtake it.  Now, despite my best efforts, I fully expect this to work and the game to return.

I don't think I could take it if this falls through.

Here's my favorite City of heroes song: http://youtu.be/HroBdibikhs

Hope to see you all in game, with or without my old 50's.

i just found out about this and... I don't know what to say. I think it was gone, lost. That I would have to move on.

I mean it's not confirmed yet but a chance at returning feel sort of... nicer is the best word, than just "it's dead and gone"

Im not the same person I was ten years ago.. Married now with a family.. Id prefer to able to jump on with my level 50's that I built out.. I have my Sentinel data and I would be willing to pay if the fee isnt too high...

And let me say clearly.. THANK YOU for all the efforts..

Ditto!

10 years ago when I started it was just me and my dog.  Now it's me and my new dog...and my family.  My life has changed considerably.  I loved playing in the past when I had less responsibility, and I have great memories from that time.  The game was fun and it was an outlet.   I could log into my scrapper and raid the ritki or log into my controller and play incarnate for a while.  My favorite thing in the game was taking my fully customized level 50's out for a spin.  Sometimes I made a new character and played it for a few levels, but the majority of the time I played with the characters with all the cool abilities.  I hope the owners of the game take that into consideration so I can get back to my favorite parts of the game with my limited time and my responsibilities.  Hopefully in a few years, I can log into my controller on some rainy sunday afternoon when I have an hour to two to spare and just play the game with my son.

You guys are so awesome. I can not, fully, even with my large vocabulary, at my disposal, express the joy, and excitement, I have in knowing, that, very possibly, the game that we know and love may be coming back! Even if this doesn't happen(which it's seeming very likely that it is), I want to thank the team involved, I want to thank you, Ironwolf, and I want to thank each and every person who didn't give up hope. Those who didn't may think, "I didn't have anything to do with this", but you did, for you kept the dream alive. So, again, thank you!

Alright, touching whatever being done with, my laptop died, and I'm sort of treating myself, this Monday(Sort of, being, I'm not going with the absolute cheapest, and I'm going a step or two up.;P), and it should be able to easily handle CoH Ultra, if and when it comes back! Ahh, I'm so excited!

UPDATE

The group is working on possibly signing a deal in the next few days. All of the good Karma you can muster point towards South Korea and let NCSoft be persuaded!

I don't know the exact details of what is in this deal but it is VERY close. It appears at this stage User Data may not be available - at least not at this time. More details as things unfold. It seems their data storage retrieval system is to equal that of the IRS. If this goes well the new Overlords will be up and running with further details.

UPDATE

Hold on a bit - looks like for once I read a bit too much into the email!

It is in the hands of the final guy but they are still working to get the best deal with the most stuff in it - for the best price. I thought it was at the peak - my fault entirely - but it is at the final stage and now the serious deal making is on and we are 1 signature away again.

Ah, that's what i get for not reading a bit further. Still excellent news.

One signature away? I almost fell out of my chair! What tremendous news! Thank you Team Ironwolf! (or whatever they wish to be called) Here's hoping step one goes to success very soon! Step one? Get the game back!  Just simply amazing! Imagine how blazing all the forums will be when this succeeds!

Talking of that, if this works out, I wonder if the new forums would be able to have archive links to the old ones, to help bridge the shutdown gap?

For what it's worth, I already have a song and script in mind if this comes to fruition.

What do you guys think?  http://samurai-ko.tumblr.com/post/77656372693/i-admit-i-often-fantasize-about-the-day

Before I read this update, I was actually out mowing the lawn and "My Life Would Suck Without You" came on my mp3 player - and I thought, "If we get the game back, this would be an awesome song for Samuraiko to use for a video where all our heroes get back together again."

But I've always strangely associated Kelly Clarkson with CoH.  Don't mind me.

I'm not sure, it depends if the database was still there and everything was archived.  But then there is a website where one could bring up old web pages from the past.  I cannot remember what it is though.  I think it's Archive.org, but then again, if things had been shut down, was there a backup?  What of the server and data on it?  In the US it's important to keep old data but I am unsure about South Korea.
Currently; Not doing any streaming, found myself with less time available recently.  Still playing starbound periodically, though I am thinking of trying other games.  Don't tell me to play mmohtg's though please :).  Getting back into participating in VO and the successors again to.

Well, perhaps we could Archive.org to copy-paste all the old guides to the new forums then - if it turns out that everyone will have to start from scratch, then there might be quite a big demand for those.

Could just link to them to.  Assuming archive.org has them.  It's been two years afterall.  One thing I'd like to see, is not the guides but the rude tells thread :).

Edit: It's generally poor taste to just copy and paste without proper, correct citation afterall(very poor practice).  I know, not writing an essay but credit generally needs to be due proper.

Found out today the Open Simulator grid I've been on is probably going to close in August.  And I was asking myself, "What am I going to do with my online time now?"   ;D

Perfect timing to bring me up out of my depression.  One signature away...

Aye, perfect timing for me to since i'm slowly losing the will to play skyrim, getting bored of skyrim redone as I'd played quite a few playstyles in it and it'll be a while before Perkus Maximus comes out, but then, if CoX is out again that'll keep a TON of my attention in gaming.

First thing.  When I get my namesake rebuilt I'm going to Atlas and stand the same place I did the night of the shutdown.  And light up a torch.
