I think everyone is still ignoring the fact that, while we are one signature away, we are still one signature away. Until that signature is obtained the deal could still fail.

I'm trying so hard not to jump up and down right now it's insane, and no matter how many times I keep telling myself that it's still not guaranteed that we're getting the game back, I can't help being excited. It can still fail though. A previous deal was at this same point and it fell apart because the last few things couldn't be agreed upon. This one may still go the same way.

Having said that, thank you buyers. Thank you for getting us this far. Thank you for not giving up. Thank you for bringing us hope.

Best of wishes, and one request: Hire Ironwolf as your permanent Official PR/Community Relations head. He's a name and face we know, trust, and respect. He's been patient with us when we've nearly lost our minds, and has been really good at rephrasing things when people are confused.

That is true, I'm still just extremely hopeful right now.  Should it be announced you can bet i'll be preparing though.

If the deal goes through, it'll be important for every possible CoH related site to promote the return as much as possible.

Having had the pain of losing the game once...the sheer sense of heart rending loss...I think any 'deal' will send a shockwave through the MMO community.  Curiosity value.  People who never got the chance.  CoH community may be more vociferous in its promotion IF we can secure its return.

If every CoH player of the 100k (?) installed base at close(?) recruited just one player...CoH would overtake Eve Online's alleged 150K(?) subscriber base?

Add the 'spiritual' successor efforts to the mix (who should feel emboldened by CoH's return...) ...and all the people who came to hear about CoH after it's closure...I think there is a potential momentum behind it's return that it never quite had (inexplicably) when Paragon was actively developing it.

Seriously, when I look at some of the MMO junk out there...with their 'plastic' graphics, kludgy and clumsy design and 'rubber nosed' combat and arcane 'skill' systems...I think there is some crazy kind of universe...bizzaro style, that allows CoH to die while e.g. 'Pick any rubbish MMO' yet lives.

In short, the CoH community will re-double its promotion efforts should CoH return.  And any promotional campaign should actively target recruitment to the CoH community. 

As a badge of honour...no less.

Exactly.  Alot of players will want to see what it's all about and why developers spoke so highly of it and why it was spoken so highly of by people who played it.  I know alot who already want to try it out ever since I spoke of this to them in CO, said that before.  I'm kind of obliged to some things because of that.

Hmm...kind of got me thinking about the 'When Harry Met Sally...' movie for some reason...


....and as for a comeback video?  I guess they'll go with the original CoH 'City of Heroes' music.   With some beautiful montages of the City districts and the community at closedown with a fade to black...and then an explosion of returning heroes playing the game out of a beta re-launch.

Though I'm quite partial to the idea of Baba O'Riley playing over a 'returning hero' video...

The price is likely something only they know. Engine was not NCSofts (they'd licensed iCube from Zepetto) but no account data.

Hehe, my guide isn't so scripted.

Edit:  I do have points to go over though.

1: The archtypes explained to dummies(not litterally that, but explaining the AT's).

2: What makes a powerset in city of heroes and why do they matter as much as the AT or more?  And why is it bad to skip to many powers and why the attackless, buffless empath is a useless character in the long run?

3: Force Multipliers and why a powersets nuances are critical to know, especially post level 20.

4: Coming up with a strategy to a character using the above.

Thats just a small portion.  I plan to also explain how to fight the various groups, or maybe just show off at that point.
