I've honestly not found an IO build that has been better than SOs/HOs. But, my OCD doesn't allow me to not slot full lvl 50 IO sets either... :(

I'm 100% positive you could get better.

Finding them all at 50 would be pretty expensive though.

:( Not yet... still broke.

If I were to buy Level 50 versions of all the IOs I need for my Emp, I'd be looking at approximately a 1.25 billion influence build.

Instead, I've got an unkillable Fire Tank and a Claws/SR monster, and have only spent about 750 mil so far. I'm sitting on about 300 mil already for my Emp's build, which is next.

I've yet to top 35 mil on any of my characters and now they're ALL broke.

OK, this isn't the right place for this topic. If you could post a new thread in the General Discussion, it would be awesome. I'd like to know how people bank so much inf. I see people buying Set IOs for 25 mill and up, and I get mad at Wentworths and just go run around with a bunch of empty slots. Do people just farm all the time or what? I spent over 5 mill on a Proc recipe and ingredients last night. When I tested it out, I realized I had just spent a lot on something that wasn't gonna do much for the type of missions I'm normally on. I want to know how to bank major inf on both sides and still play the game, not just farm.

P.S. I just now noticed the name of this thread. Skip the whole part about this isn't where it goes. I'll await your response Iltat.

Topic split and moved. :) I rock at this mod stuff. :P

Anyways, there are quite a few ways to make some major bank in this game now.

Below are some of the most dependable. There are others, at least one of which, I'm not sharing yet. ;) If you want to know some of the riskier ways, but less active (like how to play the stock market...I mean...consignment house), I can share those too. :)

Most important for everyone is...play the game. A lot. The more you play, the more chances the RNG (random number generator) gives you at landing big bucks, no whammies. If your luck sucks, keep going. It'll change.

For 50s:

The first thing to remember is...the smaller the team, the greater likelihood you have of getting the drops. Duos are great. Solo is better. Two-boxing with your second account in the mission is best. :)

1) Clean the PI parking lot.

This works best on the less popular servers (on Freedom and Virtue, apparently you're fighting 20 other people to do this). The ring is from the far NW corner of the parking lot, around the SE corner, and SW along the sides of the buildings until the park. You want to use something that can handle multiple mezzers in each group, and the faster you kill, the better off you are (read: Scrapperlock es bueno).

It's farming, but at your own leisurely pace. I do it when I'm just chatting in channels mostly.

2) Unai. Learn him. Love him. Farm him.

Unai gives 1 fantastic farming mish. Now, the only farming to it is that you just don't click the glowies. Otherwise, kill everything, have a ball, take your time, whatever. It's the Banished Pantheon portal mission. Throw it on Invincible and go to town. They drop salvage crazy fast.

3) Hate Carnies? Hate Harvey Maylor? I can make ya like him...

In Harvey's storyarc, you get a mission that requires you to go another dimension to stop some Praetorians. You get there, and you find that you're on the city map (think Mother Mayhem, Bobcat, Family farm, that map). And it's full of Infernal's demons. Here's the hint: Infernal's demons drop Magic Salvage. They also can't kill a Fire Tank in a million years. Oh, and they prefer to use Flares, so they actually herd in the middle of the street if you learn how to do it. 1) Fire Tank, 2) Fire Blaster, 3) Kin, 4) Profit.

4) Out of missions? Pleeeeeeease.

That little police scanner looks pretty cool, huh? Looks cooler when it gives you a mission to get some glowie back from the CoT. Go in, clear the mish, skip the glowie, reset. Gives lots of Carnies too. Both drop that beautiful Magic salvage.

5) Got Respec?

The 44 respec is a joke. Except that it leaves you with a 33% chance of getting a 15 million influence drop upon completion, if you can get it to drop at Level 50. It's been itchy recently about dropping 49s, which are only worth 5 mil-ish. Oh, and the crap recipes it drops, they're still all worth more than a mil apiece except for 1.

Hate Rikti? Try a 34 for the 11% chance of getting the Decimation that's worth 15-25 million.

With the right folks, both should take approximately 60-75 minutes. Not a bad payrate for an hour of work.

6) Damn aliens.

Hint: Communications Officers drop Portals. Level 50 Portals give around 50 thousand inf apiece.

Now, I wonder where one could find a lot of Communications Officers who are around Level 50...sure would be nice if someone could get the Devs to put in a zone full of them...

7) Recipes, recipes, and more recipes.

So here's your problem. You say, "Ping, that all sounds great, but I hate Magic baddies and have the Family farm/Council farm/Dreck farm/lots of missions with lots of Tech based baddies that I kill masses of in a hurry. What can I do?"

Fear not, young Skywalker. Really like killing thousands upon thousands upon thousands of dudes instead of the Death Mage outside? Look for Crushing Impact, Positron's Blast, Scirocco's Dervish, Numina's Convalescence, and Luck of the Gambler. See, it turns out, that while the special pieces of those sets go for tons of cash...the other pieces are needed too...and they drop from killing baddies...lots and lots and lots of baddies. The Dmg/Acc for each of the offensive sets comes from regular baddie kills. The Numina's Heal and LotG Defense and Def/End both come from that too. Go. Kill the masses.

You will make money.

For less than 50s:

1) Hellions in AP to CoT in PP to Igneous in The Hollows to CoT in Steel to Tsoo in Skyway missions to Warriors and Tsoo in Talos to Tsoo in IP to Banished Pantheon in Dark Astoria to Croatoa, everything in Croatoa, to CoT in Founders to Carnies and CoT in PI. It's a Magic salvage hunting guide from 1-50 with the only real breaks being in the high teens (where you gotta go mishing for Tsoo) and the early 40's (good time to slam Tina's AV's to hurry through to the hig 40's).

Learn who you want to fight at every opportunity. Learn to love Magic.

2) Make your choice: Uber-XP or Uber-Inf.

Large teams make more XP per hour (assuming they're not all retards, which is assuming a lot). Small teams make more inf per hour (assuming...well, you get the point).

Make your choice. Either level slow and make a ridiculous amount of cash or level fast and do it at 50.

For those who doubt, my 37 Spines/Regen leveled from 36 to 37 by solo hunting CoT in Founders Falls. It took me weeks to ding. I made 51 million influence.

I definitely have to agree with the portals.  I earn about a million a night just jumping around for a little bit hitting portals.  Unfortunately, I dropped my portal farm mish (outdoor map that is often used with those ugly things (hydras?) in perez park) so that I could get the the longbow farming mish.  Hopefully I'll get another portal farming after I get this idiotic badge.  See what you badgers have done to me??!!???!?!?!one!!eleven!!!?  Hehe, sorry.  Couldn't resist.  I'm at work and hate my job  :P

For some reason, I forget to do Scanner missions at 50. This was one of the best tips for me since I apparently skipped the Maylor Behemoth mission at some point, and I ran Unai out last night because I thought surely he would give me another cool mission after all the hunts he was giving. Nope.

I see now why people park their 50s in TF or Farming mode. I got nothing else to do with Cath after he finishes the last 2 Dark Watcher missions.

Thanks for taking the time to type all that Iltat. Thanks for making it entertaining also.

NyteRayne

One other tip...you can drop a mish once every eight days and have it autocomplete.  This also is true for level 50s.  Set up a scanner mish, talk to the scanner again, drop mish, instant profit.  Not a whole lot, but every little bit helps

I thought it was 7 consecutive days....but I haven't had the need to Drop missions in a long time...

But ya, I've made the RWZ my new best friend.  I been farming the same mission for a while now and I get anywhere from 3-5 Portals per run (On Rugged) with easy Minion defeats.  One run can take less then 20 minutes and I net an easy 300k.  Running the new TF also nets a huge profit.  Since there are several Teams involved, I cannot actually Tank for my Team, we all just split up and help each Team out.  So I run around with my AoE on and throw out my Ranged attacks, all the while swingin my Axe like a mad man.  All in all, getting a few hits off here and there on any random Rikti will get my Team kill credit, and therefore extra inf/prestige/Merits.  Now that's an easy way to net a good few mil in the time it takes to run it.

And just a quick response to the OP, I'm only about 15% into my 1 Billion Inf Badge, but I spent only about 27 Mil all together on the few IO's I have.  Most of which actually went to the Crafting Badges.  I maintain a 5 Mil range right now, I farm for an hour to get up as high as possible, check the AH for what I need and think is reasonably priced, buy or not, then start farming again.

What you described is a Ship Raid, not the new Lady Grey TF.

However, the LGTF does seem to be a very good source of generating inf.

Tazhyngarth

Dangit, I meant to say Raid....thanks for that SP. :P

To me the Raid is a bit more dangerous (ie time consuming for joint effort reasons) but because of this, the payout is better.

-Taz

SuckerPunch

Don't get me wrong, I love ship raids :)

iltat

Both are actually good sources.

For the record, I'm about 20% into my 1 bil inf badge, but I've easily made over 1 bil off the AH so far.

Oh, and there's a much faster way to make inf in the RWZ than farming a mission, running the LGTF, or doing a ship raid. ;)
