List of NPC Costume Pieces and Database key

I used SQLlite to edit the database and below I typed up a quick key of the costume locations I've identified. Since upperbody and lowerbody in the region tab isn't always crystal clear. Some costume part names are not as simple as: "helmet" or "goggles"


Here's a part key for the database. Example 0 = pants so in the part column row 0 you would add pants costume information into the database. 1 for chest, etc. I have circled part number in Red



Database Geometry locations

0 = pants
1 = chest
2 = head/face
3 = gloves
4 = boots
5 = belt
6 = hats / hair
7 = ?
8 = head wings, bull horns, glasses, goggles and eyewear
9 = chest detail, emblems, chest plates, chest gear. Not to be confused with  tights chest detail
10 = shoulders
11 = backpack / wings
12 = right claws weapon
13 = neck detail, such as Diabolique's collar
14 = ?
15 = Cape top / mantle
16 = ?
17 = cape
18 = aura/path aura/glowing or burning eyes, etc
19 = shorts/skirt - not to be confused with old tight bodypainted on skirt/shorts
20 = jackets / trench coat / shirt
21 = sleeves
22 = ?
23 = ?
24 = left claws weapon
25 = ?
26 = ?
27 = tails, phoenix tail, animated tails

Changing Costume Colors in the database:

To change colors of your costume parts and FX. You will need to use Blue Green and Red format like the normal costume files use and take the 3 numbers; Multiply blue by 65536  green by 256 and add them together. White would be255,255,255 = 255*65536 + 255*256 + 255 = 16777215. Take that final number (in this case for white) and place it in the first color tab if that was your primary color. Refer to my picture above if you were wanting color one of the pants to be white. You'd place it in the same row as the pants geometry in color 1 column. As far as I know those were actual powers that turned you into an npc; maybe a brain and miracle worker like codewalker could do something like that but I haven't a clue. He might surprise us with something for Halloween in regards to those old ToT costumes.

Here all I'm doing is looking up textures and through existing costumes and finding the geometry and textures from icon. I had to do some experimenting to get some of the carnie stuff to work since those were truly locked costumes that wouldn't show up in the icon costume creator.

Personally this is what I always wanted in CoX and not just the toggles. Because quite often npcs would get that one exclusive costume piece I really wanted but never got access to. This gives you more options and more creativity.

I have some questions for you.

* Can you find out if it's possible for me to get the Fir Bolg gloves on a character?  NPC name is Pumpkin_Minion.

* Can you help me get Buzzsaw's backpack?  NPC name is Model_Doc_Buzzsaw_02.

* I found an odd little thing when I try to db edit in any of the SEER costume pieces with the pretty, blue glowing light (example here: http://paragonwiki.com/w/images//thumb/9/95/Scanner1.jpg/262px-Scanner1.jpg ): When I swap in this piece to a character with a DB Editor, and load it up, the blue light is gone on the piece, and it remains with its non-glowy colors.  What am I doing wrong that's preventing this blue glow to vanish?  Someone told me it might have something to do with 'fx' but I see no such reference in /costumesave.

* I've seen some clever hax where people are putting costume pieces that don't even belong in one place in a place.  For example, random heads where arms and chest pieces go, etc.  That seems like some clever work, and I'd love to know how to do that.

Is there any chance you could find the rest of the Lord Recluse costume? ie Crab Backpack, Head, etc.

Im sorry for not getting to this sooner. Work has been difficult this week... I should be able to get to this on Sunday. Not sure about firbolg will look into it.... For recluse I know I found his cape, pistol and backpack at one point. Will get back to this on sunday.

If these costumes follow the same nomenclature as they do for costume files and in the piggs, I can help this along quite a bit.  I spent a while pigg-diving back in the day and I have a huge library of costume files for all kinds of npc's and enemies.  Let me know if you can use them.

Could you link or post a list of what's post-GR?  I've been told that the majority of pre-GR character models don't have functional geometry, but after Going Rogue they started doing that for NPCs.  So, such a list would be wonderful.

Anyone interested in compiling a list of costume parts into something machine-readable? Perhaps a JSON file? I can probably use this in a future version of Jerrichas, where users can just pick what costume part they want from a drop-down menu.

Right now they're in a series of costume files so i could test/view them from the costume load screen.  I'll load them into a google drive folder or something tonight. 

Actually, most enemies and npc's before gr have functional geometry too.  There are some i never found and a bunch missing some pieces, but the most notable omissions are actually the big cov npcs.  I was able to reproduce statesman and positron but not recluse and scirocco, for example.

Alright, here it is.  Hopefully I didn't accidentally add any personal costumes.  There are just a few things I should note:
1. I'm pretty sure at least a couple of these costumes are just ones I dug up in the piggs before they were fully revealed.
2. Each costume corresponds to a given body type.  In addition to the three accessible to players, there's beast-like type (which might be possible to switch to by editing the right database field).  There's also at least one I haven't been able to implement in the costume files, as evidence by the rikti. 
3. Each costume is built around a hastily made template.  This makes placing parts easier and allows me to view them on a "mannequin".  As such, ignore any fluff that doesn't correspond to the costume in question.
