LOL...I also have NO icons on my desktop. (They are all in the quickstart t/b.) A puter tech told me that it takes a bit of resources to keep the shortcuts generated on the d/t, and putting them in the t/b frees up some power for your puter. I have an old putersaurus, and found it to be true, for me. (Besides, it gives me a nice, unobstucted view of the pic I choose for my screen.) see?
