Hah, I was just thinking the other day how 3 months of Double XP could be a very bad thing if they DID decide to save the game...

Really? It's going to matter if people add one or two level 50s to their collection of thirty+?  ???

Nahh...

I need to screenshot the three or four hundred enhancement boosters I still have in inventory to top off builds I haven't even gotten to fifty yet. Far as I'm concerned, the devs could bump all 200+ of my alts the rest of the way to 50, it wouldn't make much difference. I still have to go through Ouro and all the same TFs to get the key accolades, and even if I were able to fully Incarnate slot them all (something I haven't done on one, to date), I'd still be playing them. They're more than just the journey, they're the build, the concept, the character.

The leveling process is just an annoyance, interrupting things every time the latest batch of enhancement go *pift*

Not to mention I wasn't even aware double XP had been turned on in the first place.

Aquashock

Bah!

I noticed an upswing in activity with DXP -- which I feel was a good sign. DXP, for all its other benefits, does get people motivated to run more team-based content.

I don't believe that someone logging back into a character that was in AP 33 would restore AP 33. I'm not positive, but I'm leaning towards the opinion that the server drops you into the lowest available instance when you log in.

I seem to recall times in the past when I was logged out in Pocket D 4 or 5 for example and logged back in the next day to find myself in plain old Pocket D.

You would be correct.  However, this game has Dev's to kill to keep and they clearly respawned 33 as soon as it came back up to show their support of our support for them.

While I lean in this direction personally, we really have no proof that this is what occurred. It's pure speculation.

I'm sure somebody can confirm Andy was able to "spawn" AP33 for us in the past after the server went down (this was during the massive rally which initially spawned AP33). That and the server would simply create AP2 if traffic increased and not AP33, would it not?

Correct. That's our main proof. The game simply doesn't create a thirty-third instance of a zone because the first one is full.

I can almost certainly confirm a Dev is respawning AP33. I often stay logged in as Heavy Core in AP33 overnight with an active AE mission, and last week I woke up one morning to find myself staring at a login screen instead. I got on to find AP33 had vanished and went to regular old Atlas Park where I stood with a few others that were bummed about the disappearance of AP33. Someone (labeled as "Admin" if I remember correctly) said "AP33 Forever" in all channels and shortly thereafter AP33 reappeared. We also all briefly turned into Statesman which was pretty hilarious.

The same thing kind of happened this morning. I woke up to find AP33 was gone and went to Atlas Park to stand vigil. Suddenly we all started dancing simultaneously and shortly afterwards AP33 was back. Someone is watching over us. :)

BTW, simply logging out in an instance will NOT keep that instance alive. You have to remain active in it AND the server cannot go down (i.e. forced logout).

I wouldn't use the word "replace," but there's no word for "take over for you and make everything better almost immediately," so we just say "replace."

Oh, but black holes and their relationship to information are much more complicated than all that.  ;)
