XMPP was unable to connect!Login attempts return an error

Login attempts return an error:
"XMPP was unable to connect!
Make sure that your XMPP login information is correct."
The login info is verified, issue 24 installation location is correct, Anti-virus exceptions are in place. Is the problem with my C.O.T account, or is there more troubleshooting to be done on my end?

For others who might experience this in the future - re-installing Norton's A/V, and excluding the Paragon Chat files (again) cured the problem.

Uninstalling that garbage and going with an AV that's actually effective would also work well. :p
