Just watched it. The dollmaker's doll has to be one of the worst special effects i've ever seen. 60s tv had better effects than that.

They're just aiming to promote Combs' new movie Reanimator Reassembled.
When you insult someone by calling them a "pig" or a "dog" you aren't maligning pigs and dogs everywhere.  The same is true of any term used as an insult.

I've enjoyed the show, but that season finale was terrible. Weird motivations, plots jumping forward at light speed, bizarre fight scenes where nobody can use a gun.
Really bad.

The Riddler's insanity bit which reminded me of how they'd always depict drug use in 70s and 80s TV seemed especially bad, though I don't exactly have any psychotic breaks to compare it too, so idk.
