Not sure which video you're talking about, only replay I've seen is too fast to tell because they haven't slowed it down but the contact sure looks early to me as he seemed to be in perfect position to catch it then suddenly he wasn't.

The youtube video I linked to was from the game broadcast and includes several slow motion replays after the fact, including the one I explicitly referenced in my post at the 2:20 time index.

I can't believe the Canadian team went with the swan rather than the dolphin-dive in the second minute of their routine.  Blew their entire bit, and had to be what caused the judges to score them as low as they did.

Heh.  Reminds me of a book I read years ago.  A group of grad students were at an end of year party, and declared that they no longer wanted to hear anything more about school, potential careers, or who was dating who.  One of them then cheekily observed "Well, I guess that just leaves politics and religion - so, anyone changed parties or gods recently?"  ;D
