Blah, blah.  The 'Marvel Universe re: the Jack Kirby Universe' lobotomised for the movies and a cruddy 'Shield' (drop the d, e and add a t...t.v series...).  The Avengers.  The puppets of the shadow government.

I expect another Jack Kirby Universe 're-boot' shortly.  Marvel, 'The New 62 (cents)'  Cheap.  Nastier than ever and very plasticky.

Azrael.
The timeline for Earth-199999 appears to be significantly more streamlined relative to Earth-616, and I think many people are excited to see the consequences of Hydra's infiltration of SHIELD continue to propagate in Avengers Age of Ultron and Captain America Civil War.  Whether it leads to the dramatic changes some are rumoring for Infinity War or not is highly speculative, but I think we can all agree with you that the combination of the two justifies the excitement over these future projects.

Just did a search in Google and an article from the Korean Times came up, posted about 12 hours ago.

https://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/news/tech/2015/01/134_172359.html

"Online game developer NCsoft promoted its former vice president Yoon Song-yee to become president, it said Sunday." -- "She will take responsibility for mapping out the firm's globalization strategy and management of NC West Holdings, an affiliate in the United States."

Any thoughts in relationship to our negotiations?

I am one of those that comes here every couple of days hoping to see some news about the talks regarding our city. I am hoping that this announcement means that sometime soon we will see a post regarding the talks and when we will be playing again.  :D I am hopeful that everything is going well.

If we win this, I'm going to personally make a video, where it's just every, single victory fanfare/hype music mushed into one.

Every rocky song, every FF victory fanfare, Final countdown, live to win, We are the champions, all that, just playing at once.

Even worse than this.

Wow.  I would hope this doesn't change things in terms of contacts or in terms of willingness to sell.

That is mildly worrisome. Perhaps we might get some word like talks are continuing or something in a week or two.

I don't see why it would. If anything it might speed up the process because the new prez might need/want to make a quick buck.

Yeah, that's why I posted a while back about my concern regarding how much time this is taking.  Let things go on too long and regimes change and you have to start all over again with someone who may or may not want to deal.

Still, assuming there are NDA's in place, then it's perfectly possible that they have a signed deal.  Or maybe... oh, something like the first two of six agreements signed ... statements of intent with non-delivery, or backout clauses, or whatever.

If we take my imaginary scenario from before... then there could be a signed agreement contingent on NCSoft and the new image running company demonstrating that the server images all work together correctly, and can scale up in capacity for example.  In that imagine-land, the deal is done, the work is proceeding, but nobody can ANNOUNCE that the deal is done, since if the server images DON'T work as advertised, then they have to go to contingency deal #2 or something.

Somebody's being asked to put up hunks of money to get this work done -- I can't imagine that would go through without guarantees on all sides.

I hear ya. I've got several of those kinds of scenarios I've thought about too. It just seems like the whole NDA thing has kind of put a positive spin on things with me. I'm guessing that much of the negotiating is past and it's the can we actually get this thing working that's holding up any announcements.

The scenario I like best is where they announce that I get the franchise and 10 million bucks to get it off the ground... I'm guessing that scenario has a bit less chance of being reality though. :)

From the classical-music side, I nominate Beethoven's "Ode to Joy" from his 9th Symphony.

I'm pretty sure my suggestion was classical music.

Call me a simpleton but moving people around might be a good thing, if only because currently the only western-market game they're working with is Guild Wars/Guild Wars 2. Yes those are major-ish titles but their non-subscription buisness model means they arn't major money-makers. Both the new expansion for GW2 and this move show us that the "focusing on the korean market" attitude that was part of the excuse for dumping COH in the first place are reversing.

Then again I could be reading too much into it.

You very well could be right. For all we know, this might have been a reason for a slowdown in negotiation and now it will resume

My point was that any change like this enters an unknown into the equation.

They're behind Wildstar as well, aren't they? That game hasn't been doing too well lately from what I hear.

Talks are still ongoing, Awesome.

School eating my schedule up again.. it's a welcomed distraction in one way and an annoying distraction in others.

Welcomed in that I don't just sit here viewing this thread every few hours just in case there's some news regarding CoH.

Annoying in the aspect that I never get dev time lol.
There is always another way. But it might not work exactly like you may desire.
