The Marvel TV Series "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." and "Agent Carter" both explore and define this.

In the movies themselves, the SSR first shows up in Captain America the First Avenger with both Peggy Carter and Howard Stark involved and its stated in Iron Man 2 and in The Winter Soldier that Howard Stark and Peggy Carter were founding members of SHIELD.  Its kinda implied that the two are connected, but the TV series' make that far more explicit.

I was just looking at a paragon city tour and saw all the windows lights illuminated at dawn. That was a nice detail

Dammit.

I logged in to check the last two pages, and the wording made it seem initially that we got the game back, and my heart jumped outta my chest until I read more ;-;
Happened to me yesterday.  I'm fine with the holding pattern - still better than the "NO!" pattern. :)

Would it be going too far if I followed it up with https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sb_g4jkPqUw ?

I was re-watching the "Unity" video, and had an idea. If the devs can swing it, we could have a zone event, at least a week long, where the shadow creatures keep re-invading, trying to take the city back from us. I don't normally like zone events, since they disrupt efforts to complete street-sweeping missions, but this would be enjoyable.

Obligatory.

It's been a while, but it needs to be said.... thank you everyone involved for your efforts to bring the old game back.
Thank you everyone else for being patient with each other and not going all Donner Family here while this thing takes time.

Oh, and bacon.  (Insert picture of bacon)

Blah, blah.  The 'Marvel Universe re: the Jack Kirby Universe' lobotomised for the movies and a cruddy 'Shield' (drop the d, e and add a t...t.v series...).  The Avengers.  The puppets of the shadow government.

I expect another Jack Kirby Universe 're-boot' shortly.  Marvel, 'The New 62 (cents)'  Cheap.  Nastier than ever and very plasticky.

What would a realistic guess be when we would have the game back?
If the deal is successfull of course

At a rough guess i would hazard a minimum of four to six months, possibly as much as a year from the close of the deal.
So far so good. Onward and upward!

Probably a pretty good guestimate... but I image there will be beta testing (at least stress testing). :)

are we there yet?

I find myself wondering if they're delaying a final signature/announcement until they have the server image running.

We hear that the servers are a multi-headed beast with intricate cross-communications, and we've heard it wasn't shut down with intent of bringing it back, and that they fired everybody who knew how to work it... so until it's tested, I would think there's still some doubt about delivering an active I23 for commercial use.

So suppose they announced NCSoft was leasing the game image and then nobody could get it to run right... how would that look?  And what about the guys paying for it-- I think they'd be rather pissed.

I could see delaying a final signature until that concern is out of the way.

They were saying 6 months last august.

pinballdave

Personally I think they are going over each minute legal detail, step by step so neither side feels cheated. Detail of which, I can only imagine

when the deal is done, yeah, that sounds reasonable
