Geez man....I get the urge to log into CoH constantly now!   I was out playing basketball today and that old familiar feeling came over me, "I'm gonna log on when I get home".

The good thing is that it's not making me sad or anything...I kinda like the feeling.

I know. . . and Icon just makes me hungrier. . .
We're almost there!  ;D

The RNG hates me.

I could swear moments like these cause me to get closer to finishing some big minecraft project...

...already asked but....

...Are we there yet?
Currently; Not doing any streaming, found myself with less time available recently.  Still playing starbound periodically, though I am thinking of trying other games.  Don't tell me to play mmohtg's though please :).  Getting back into participating in VO and the successors again to.

Hehe, yeah.  I actually put my lone screenshot of the shutdown (one was all I could bear to take) back onto my desktop as my wallpaper last night.  It's of my 50 fire/empathy troller, All Hallows Eve, hovering right next to War Witch in Atlas 2 on Virtue.

It's a little disorienting when I shut down my college work and see what appears to be CoH open and running on my computer, heh, but I love it nonetheless.  I'm still cautiously optimistic, but where Nate is still in phone talks with NCSoft and they haven't turned Team Hail Mary down yet, I became encouraged enough to finally put that pic back onto my desktop.  I have put that screenie back into My Pictures every time (through two different computers and a recent reformat of the second) but never had the courage to use it until now.

Here's hoping for Someday.   ;D  Someday soon.

I was just pondering here at work (slow day) that in March of this year things were dead. Monty Python parrot dead - feet nailed to the perch dead.

Now we have so much excitement and potential in the air. It astounds me that so many of us love this game so much we need it back - not just daydream about the good ole days - we had constant growth in our characters and world. We have players like Nate, Golden Girl and the Valiance team who first started building on a hope for a successor - then Irish Girl on her own started making maps in UR4.

I have to think whatever happens - we will find a way back to our home. So many people working so hard and thinking outside of the normal box and refusing to quit. I guess it's because we want to be heroes - its what we do.

Aw, come on Wolf... no love for the Redside? If I had any feelings left they'd honestly be hurt!

I'm just yanking your chain, my friend. Yes, I consider you a friend after all the time you have put into this. I hope we get to meet up and go bashing some skulls when the game relaunches!
I can't think of anything clever to place here as I am currently over-caffeinated on very little sleep. All the cool people have a signature, so I will drop random text here trying to fit in.

Frankly, what I don't understand after the CoX shutdown is why other MMO publishers aren't tripping over themselves to promise not to do that and advertise that fact like crazy; and I wouldn't be surprised if WoW keeps running essentially as long as a tiny number of people are interested in playing it, quite possibly for decades yet.

Other MMO publishers are not considering this problem because:

1. They really don't care about their playerbase's feelings. LOLWHAT. Why would they care. Caring is for feebs.

2. "All that bad mojo won't happen to us," they reassured each other during their teleconference calls. "All those lightning bolts NCSoft called down upon themselves, those won't strike here. That was an anomaly." There is no doubt in my mind that the lessons learned during the CoX shutdown have zoomed over the heads of over 75% [or more!] of the major gaming houses with the speed and facility of the Concord on its daily run to Europe. [Never mind that the Concorde is dead too. *sigh*]

3. I doubt a WoW shutdown is looming. However.... never say never. All it takes is one person - with the power to make that decision - deciding to "shift focus elsewhere" and boom, your game is watching the doomsday clock count down. Profitable? LOLTOOBAD, we are shifting focus elsewhere. People upset? LOLTOOBAD, shifting those sad players right into Bouncing B00bfest III. Surely they will not mind!

In short, never count human perfidy out.

The amazing thing about blizzard, they seem to be as developers and a publisher taking a more progressive(not refering to the political stance but in terms of advancing games) stance on games and design.  I get the feeling WoW is being held back though, more due to it's players and an inability on blizzards behalf to do much about WoW.  But Starcraft 2's mod support and diablo 3's shift away from grinding was honestly kind of surprising to me.

I must agree. Blizzard is doing some interesting things. The way they have changed Diablo 3 is great, its almost like they actually listened to the fan base

I've always thought that Blizzard is awesome as long as you're not talking about WoW. -Looooooooooooong time fan of Starcraft, Diablo, and pre-WoW Warcraft-

There was a time before SC2 and Diablo 3 where I felt they forgot who they were that was after WoW.  I did feel they were awesome before WoW, as they seemed to have been making strides forward then.  Not the same areas I liked the most(bungie was the king of game physics pre-microsoft and halo), but they were certainly understanding why people liked making maps for instance.  When WoW came I did notice diablo 2 had seen a sharp decrease in support(diablo 2 and Warcraft 3's playerbase also gave me a pretty negative view for a short while).  It wasn't till SC2 came along that got me thinking more positively of blizzard again.

I know right?  One thing I liked so far, they drastically improved kerrigan.  While I felt they still made some mistakes on her writing(particularly heart of the swarm) they certainly didn't make the mistakes of BW(virtually everyone except the UED bending over for her).  Over time the character is forced to realise she's never getting back with humanity.

Likewise, I loved the wings of liberty campaign, so many small routes one could take through it due to how units unlocked.  It was sometimes nice joking around with nukes on Agria.  I should start playin SC2 again, been a while.

I also absolutely love Diablo 3 reaper of souls myself.  It was such a huge improvement over the original diablo 3 I wouldn't want to play the classic game again.

It takes a village to raise a child. And it takes a villain to explain the value of lunch money.

On a different note...

As you probably know by now, Windows 10 Tech Preview is out.

I just clean installed the Enterprise version, loaded drivers, and launched Icon.

I guess I don't have enough posts to upload an attachment, but I'm walking around Atlas Park flirting with Ms. Liberty...

Icon works under Win 10.

Awesome.   So basically we probably don't have to worry too much about Legacy CoH not working with the new Windows.
