cautiously optimistic. If this is true, it will be a most interesting development. Also, if it's true, hopefully it's someone that actually gives a damn.
As long as somebody keeps making up stories for it, the City isn't gone.

I just want to throw in a few things here - I've looked at all 506 pages and there's no reason that I feel that the page count should be that high. Lots of post on stuff that has nothing to do with this thread (let alone CoX). There is one person who made (I think) 7-8 posts in rapid succession just so he could have the first post on page 500.

I started reading this post in June, and quickly joined so I could make the occasional post.  ... I'm not much of a facebook user, but that's just me.

Now my hopes are pinned to this thread. Every day, I read a little. On days I don't work, I get caught up to the most current page.

Ha, ha -- jokes on you, the news is on the Facebook groups  :D

I cant see why anyone would reveal anything before a deal is done..
Agreed.

Not to mention that I'm not sure what it really says:

"you will have some solid answers VERY SOON"
"You'll be hearing more on the 1st trust me"
"Monday, an announcement will be made about the identity of those behind the deal to purchase CoH. They MAY also decide at that time to reveal the plan for when the deal goes through"

The first two don't actually say anything other than "news"...which could be good or bad.

The "when" in the third statement is very hopeful however.

Uncautiously way too optimistic. Can't help it. Trying not to be and failing. This is the big question, innit?

I bet its Nemesis.

Mercedes Lackey has been gone for over a year and at this point I don't think she's coming back.

She's been writing like a fiend! 2 new books out and another on the way.

That said, when I saw the first Ironwolf post I poked her on FB, and I'll be posting to her again when we get the final announcement.

Reminds me that I had [ and ] bound as left slap and right slap, so that I could slap annoying NPCs (and the occasional annoying player) repeatedly...

Actually, yours is better, all in one key!  :)

Apparently, per Robert, the identity of the Mysterions was jaw-dropping to him.

In response to somebody saying "Doesn't really matter to me who they are,".
He replied --

Oh but it DOES MATTER trust me....

It's a game changer  ;)

And the identity of the Mysterions removes all doubt from him that the deal will go through
-- don't know what that means but it can't be bad news

Ok, so we're being bought by a 1950's sci-fi movie?

that could be SO cool!

wonder if it will be missing world that will get cox, because all dev houses even cryptic would not need to show if they can take care of cox. (just thinking out loud :) )
One day the Phoenix will rise again.

While I welcome the fact that there is news that there will be news soon, I can't help but wonder *why* this announcement was made. It seems...Just random to me.

Apparently Robert pulled an Iron Wolf -- got the contact info and talked to them and they OK'd him releasing this info.

Let me play in happy happy joy joy land for a moment.

Assuming this recent new is on the level. Why would they release the info in "press release form" if it wasn't a go? As far as I'm concerned, if what Robert is say is in fact true, City of Heroes' return is confirmed. If the deal was going to fall though, why not just let it happen in silence? Why publicize your failure?

I guess it could be a "hey we tried" sort of thing. Now buy our other game.

Anyway, Ironwolf, you are either a true hero or a true villain.  Here's to hoping you are the former.

Neither, dude. He's Ironwolf.

Congratulations on your new grand daughter, Ironwolf!

100% confidence in the chance of something happening isn't 100% confidence that it will happen.  I saw that wording and it bothered me, since if I buy a lottery ticket I have 100% confidence in the chance of winning the lottery.  I recognize that he's trying to hedge, but that's going to get mis-read so many ways...

Edited to add:  The important part of the message is the last sentence, for sure.
