Coulda made an enemy group in AE, and while you couldn't have placed them too well, they all woulda been there.

What a great idea! It never occurred to me to use the NPC contacts and enemies to pose with. . . Now I have something else to look forward to planning when we get the game back!

Are we there yet?    ;D
We're almost there!  ;D

Can't play risk, to luck based.  I know the strategy of it, but the random number god always hits me at the crucial moment where I could win or lose.

I'm with ya on the luck thing. That's why Risk is a terrible game, IMO. Diplomacy was a much better game. No dice at all.

Avalon Hill board game originally.
Pre WW I Europe. Pick a country and go. Turn based. You get to lie cheat and steal with seven of your friends (making allies and breaking alliances).

Good fun.

I'll have to check that out next time my sister is over, watching this funny series now in the mean time.

Currently; Not doing any streaming, found myself with less time available recently.  Still playing starbound periodically, though I am thinking of trying other games.  Don't tell me to play mmohtg's though please :).  Getting back into participating in VO and the successors again to.

Could someone please explain this "mids" thing that so many are referring to? I feel like such a dolt.
If I was a Jedi, there's a 100% chance that I'd use The Force inappropriately.

It's a program called "Mid's Hero Designer," and in my opinion, it's the best companion program for a game ever created. It allowed people to plan their builds outside the game and place IOs before character creation, so people could essentially see what "path" they could take with a hero. It's really what kept me playing for years and years.

Gadgetry was not in I24. Sorcery was. Gadgetry, along with the other origin-related pools, was going to be released later. It doesn't have completed powers or animations.

Gadgetry would be the Tech Origin one then?

It's been "fixed" now... permanently.

I think we can afford to be a little biased about the wiki here.

Sorry about that, didn't think for a minute the link would be a problem. I just used that link because it had stats on the powers that the other site did not, not that it really matters as it was pre-release anyways. Thanks for adjusting.

Starts working intensely on a new build: A Sorcery/Experimentation/Force of Will/Gadgetry/Utility Belt character...

Da**! too many pools.

I'm in glee overload mode as well looking at them :)

I'd mess with mids, but I never used it when I played the game and made my builds, I had my math down in paper.  I'm left trying to remember now though, what did they have before mids?  I cannot seem to remember, was it always hero builder before mids?

I always just used paper before Mids. I still use it sometime, only substituting paper with virtual paper to try to be a little more eco friendly.

Ditto what was just said. You can also get it on the root page of this site (http://www.cohtitan.com/). It's a pretty awesome tool and I tip my hat the creator of it.

Yeah, as soon as I looked those up, I wanted to do that too!  Even got a character name: Pool Boy (which would probably already be taken, but still...)
I hope the team who takes over will continue the work on the new pools, they look very promising.

That's the best I could come up with, OhioKnight.... Even with 6 years in the Air Force, I'm still not very good with acronyms....lol

Burnt Toast

I love Mids...and pineapple on pizza.

I used to make Mids builds for friends when they were considering rolling a new toon. Lately I have been making a lot of builds...it's reminds me of how much I love CoH...and makes me even more excited for it to return.

Curious...what issue is the rumored one we will be playing on (forever) when CoH returns? Does anyone have any patch notes of this issue?

Issue 24

(There are three links within that page for patch notes)

Also, this is still speculation... We don't really *know* anything for sure at this point. It's all up to the team and whether or not the deal actually happens--and what they decide to do after they get it.

With this talk of Mayhem missions, I don't know if this ever happened to anyone else, but...

@Bloodspeaker and I were running a +4/x8 Skyway mayhem. (Both of us on our Masterminds.) Going along, going along... when we suddenly realize there is a surprising lack of Longbow. Anywhere.

We attack cops. We blow up stuff. We do the side missions.

Longbow is nowhere to be seen. Not on the ground, not in the air. Zilch.

As he and I are commenting on this, rather puzzled, we run past the little strip mall thing in the Skyway mayhem map. Namely, right past the pizza parlor.

Whereupon EVERY SINGLE LONGBOW ambush comes POURING out the door. AT THE SAME TIME.

We had JUST enough time to both scream, "WHAT THE F-" when we both died. Horribly. And were utterly COVERED in Longbow, now standing around on our corpses.

Thank God we had a ton of time left, because we were both helpless in our chairs, laughing until we cried and our faces hurt.

We realized to our horror later that neither one of us had thought to demorecord it, because it would have been utterly GLORIOUS to replay that, but switch it out that the Longbow all start vomiting outside the same pizza parlor with the caption "NEVER EAT HERE. AGAIN. EVER."

Not in a mayhem mission, but long ago, in about 2005..

We had a team of 8 doing a cave mission when the first iteration of the 5th Column were still in power.  We ran through the map doing what we needed to do for glowies.  But we noticed the same thing.  No baddies anywhere..  The team was understandably confused.  We were getting close to the end when I popped open one of the doors...

About 40 or so 5th Column warwolves come pouring out.

Needless to say, my main blaster was toasted within a second, but he did not stop bouncing down the corridor for a few moments.  We found it pretty damn funny...

Uh-oh.  According to those patch notes, enhancements also underwent a rather large overhaul.  Since Mids was never updated past I23, this means that the builds we've all likely been working on will not be accurate if the new studio goes live with the snapshot of I24, yes?

Particularly if you had that one guy who could always con another player into leaving their back open. Strategically, I was just as good as he was.

Fraking PO'd me.
