I also created a staff/electric scrapper named Shocky Monkey.  Props to those who get both references.   ;)

Well met, and ho ho ho! Now, I know it's not every day that you see people like me running about in Paragon City, claiming to be heroes, but that's precisely what I'm doing here. Oh, I know, I know. Santa Claus shouldn't be rushing about a city playing the hero. He ought to be making toys, instead, and keeping children happy! If the truth be known, Santa likes to take his vacations, too, yes yes. But he can't go about as "Santa." If he did, he'd get nothing done, you see. So, with a hero's identification card made out to one Tubbius Claus, I live in Paragon City sometimes. It's quite peaceful and wonderfully serene. . . except when there are villains afoot. That's when Santa simply must try to stop them! What? Did you think Santa would allow naughty boys and girls to ruin his perfect little vacation spot?

The tools the new devs will need to make changes to the game are not available currently. This means that making changes to the game, like new badges and such are likely not possible. Again, it is possible that they may be found later.

Well, I wasn't expecting my badge thing to actually happen or anything. I was just talking about an idea I had. (And mentioning that I dislike exclusive things, apparently. I didn't see myself going into a rant over it though... that one shocked me, heh.)

But yeah, changes may not happen. And that's fine too... getting back into the city again is the important thing :)

Had a Scrapper with an Irish looking motif named Paddie O'Furniture.  I also had a Blaster done up in the atypical Borg costume named Ernest Borg9.

Forgot my Nrg/Regen stalker named ICB (Irish Car Bomb) that I made one evening after coming back from the bar.

Had a friend who actually took offense to that one.

I participated in a dev-themed costume contest shortly before the mass log in that resulted in AP33.

So on one of the three accounts I was logged in as Matt "Posi-ton" Miller, huge body type wearing the closest thing I could get to the Positron armor. Plus a fedora the he wore on coffee talk occassionally and ridiculously colored cowboy boots because I thought they were hilarious.

I went to that too! I was "Above and Bianco" :D

I even bought up a tray of those incarnate-level inspirations that would give you a level shift. So I could hand them out to people I thought were... taking it to the next level.


Oh and I remembered an alt I had made for a halloween contest one year. The theme was "homage"; we were supposed to make a take on one of the signature characters, but not a direct copy. So I went as Paws-itron:

My younger son was on a Thomas the Tank Engine kick for years and ended up creating Thomas N, Percy N, and James N characters on every server. (The "N" stood for "Engine.")

I even created an adjective for some of my chars (Gaic). I'd never seen that word anywhere before but I have since spelled differently. I wish the rest of the planet would get the spelling correct.

I forgot to add a joke name, Ankhammon. I've used it for so long I forgot it was originally a joke. His tag line was "Not your average hero..."
For those who don't get it, say the name fast with a New York accent.

Shortly after the launch of CoV I created my Thugs/Storm Mastermind, an escaped genetic experiment who grew up on the streets and went by the name Jurassic Punk... Still play him as a Savage archetype in Champions Online, or at least RP him since the gameplay is pretty dead over there. To the best of my knowledge, I was one of the first Jurassic Punks on the internet.

There was also my tiny, ferocious MA/Regen scrapper inspired by the idea of a Kobold monk, The Nihai Dragon... that one works phonetically.

Then there was my Dark/Rad Defender, the Nocturnal Emission.

Only a very few people would have gotten the joke with the one I created, I built a shield/sword tank named Rhino.

In the SCA (at least in my kingdom), rhino is a not very nice term for a fighter who acts invincible on the field by never calling blows. The premise for the toon was he was one of those fighters and that's why he could stand up to anything.

This week I found out about another company/product coming back now nearly 14 years since the last published title.   Through a series of unfortunately corporate buy-outs/sales and departure of original creative talent the KQ series seemed relegated to computer gaming history.
No, this is not an MMO, but this is a series very dear to my heart and childhood.  Sierra On-Line's King's Quest series was the flagship of 80s/90s Adventure Game market.   I like to think these games were the predecessor's to the modern social/networked MMO with concepts such as graphical user interfaces, good story telling, problem solving and towards the end a very crude combat system.  Prior to this the great-grand-daddy of games was command prompts and text based games which I barely recall. Zork!

Anyway, I wanted to share a link and wish everyone a happy friday.
