I really don't see this as reasonable.
but the powers themselves are just entries in a database, and that has to be pretty much some standard format... SQL, most likely.

They are most definitely not in a SQL database. That would be rather silly, since powers data is static and doesn't change outside of patches; and since both client and server have a copy of it.

City of Heroes: The New Paragons

I was thinking "City of Heroes: Resurrection" myself.  Of course there was that video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XLtqCR6-n3Y  "Remains" is a good name.

Maybe "Reborn" or "Rebirth" for CoH2?

CoX combat, while 'surprisingly' simple.  Never felt that way.  It played like a dream.  'Simple.'  But in a team situation...the team dynamics had a lot of different combat strategy and diversity going on.  Mechanically simple?  Maybe.

But I don't know of any MMO that I have played or would want to play that can equal its feel yet alone surpass it.  Lightning in a bottle.

I think I read in a 'Jack' interview that CoH took a year and a half to develop.  I find that hard to believe.  It's a work of art combat wise.

'Pitch perfect' combat.  It majestic posture as each battle form executes with silky smoothness...makes CO seem very skittish and jerky and erratic.

CoH was like some superhero ballet.  So much class.

I'd happily play Issue 24 for years upon end.

(If they can port all the art assets, all the animations, all the combat numbers and combat system and interface to a new engine aka Unreal 4?  I'm down for that.  But I want the original 'feel' preserved.)

I liked how in CoH...when you hit with Super Strength it was like you were giving the Helions or Trolls a real pounding...I liked the way...on Striga Warehouse maps you could ratchet the difficulty upto +2x8 and push your alt to the limit.  Mobs and maps full to the rafters...and would swarm you hero as the balance of the fight was put to test.  Bodies flying everywhere...  Team wipes...a valiant tank...taking the last stand.

Such pathos.

From Simplicity came complexity.  That's what I liked about the CoH combat system.  You could push it to the limits.

Azrael.

That was most of the fun of CoH, while the game itself wasn't hard, there was lots of variations. If you were to pug with teams you'll rarely ever see the same assortment of powers and play styles.

As would I - and pay a pretty penny to do it!

Resurrection has some religious connotations to some people that might be off-putting (I mean, its fine for a power, but emblazoned on this product?). And while it is a great video, as a name Remains would make me think of the game as somehow the rotting corpse remnants of what came before (which it may well be depending on the condition of the backup being bought, but still). If we were going for a video based name for a relaunch subtitle, I'd personally go with Unity (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qyn_YuMLSNc). Its a strong word that shouldn't offend to many, and evokes positively how we've held together during these dark times since the game closed.

LOL. Geordi-style visor could be a new costume part... Or probably not. :)

I am an ass, but don't we all love a good ass!

City of Heroes: Freedom Reborn

There was a SG on Freedom with that same name. Has a nice ring to it, and it's fairly accurate to what may or may not happen with the revival of the game itself.

Long time player and lurker, had to make an account to throw in my love and best wishes for the people trying to save CoH still. What an amazing game and community.

After spending so long trying to save Tabula Rasa it sucks to have the same pain for two beloved games.

"City of Heroes: Return to Paragon City" for the re-released original.

Since CoH is technically "City of Heroes: Freedom" now, simply calling "CoH2" City of Heroes would be feasible.

Also... NOW I WANT DONUTS. THANKS GUYS. :(

As long as we're off on a pastry tangent: I haven't been able to find raisin cinnamon rolls in my grocery store - even in the in-store bakery - in YEARS. It's like they're outlawed, or something. The closest I can find is raisin bread. Did anyone else notice that they've disappeared?
