Asking CS to stop applies to everyone else, too. Let's go back to reminiscing about how dumpster dive farming was OP.
For the record, CoT has no issue with dumpster diving, and has alleviated the issue which caused CoH to nerf it through an alternative method.

I wish I'd had more of a chance to play around with some of the new Dark sets that came out towards the end of the game: Darkness Control and Manipulation specifically. I had a couple of toons with those and was working on building them up, but didn't quite get there. Will be nice to be able to play around with those some more.

Also, my Praetorian Clockwork with Street Justice (either a Scrapper or Brute, I can't quite recall). Danged if I can't recall his name now, either. I think it was Fight Club.

Not too long after my wife and I started playing, we did a Synapse TF with a member of the Angry Angels SG.  My wife ended up getting an invite to join them (I was on the character in my avi pic, so didn't), and out of curiosity I went out and googled to see what I could learn about the ladies.  One of the things I found is, in retrospect, probably a big reason I fell in love with CoH, if not *the* reason.

The videos by Samuraiko, Angelus Animi, Leandro, and others all reflect the spirit of what I came to love about the game so much.  This one, especially the shot on the IP bridge, is where it all started for me.
Don't forget Mr. and Miss Abyss. The videos they made brought so many smiles to my face.
I was in a SG called Angels of the Night when I first saw that one. It instantly became my inofficial SG theme. As for the Unity video, Ascendant leading the Unity Squad is what makes me tear up the most when watching it. it's even worse now that we can have hope again.

Well that's why you can't remember the details... you're not supposed to talk about Fight Club. It's like, the first rule.

Everytime I see "CoT" even though I know you're referring too, I automatically think Circle Of Thorns.
I'll gladly run one of their lairs now.

Um, what is "dumpster diving?"

Only thing I can think of is street sweeping specifically for Vahzilok?

Um, what is "dumpster diving?"

It is where a tank would taunt the entire map, and then dive into a dumpster. The mob would surround the dumpster but direct attacks would be difficult. Then, let loose with AoE's.

Um, what is "dumpster diving?"
Herding up a huge number of mobs and then jumping into a dumpster (or other small space) to get them into a nice tight cluster for AoE death.

Edit:  Pfeh.  Scooped.

Ah, that is a cool trick. Thanks, all.

Hi folks.  Glad to see the situation is slowly calming down here.  I do hope that we can see a similar easing up of tensions outside of Titan Network so that the pressure to pull through immediately is not felt so much on the important parties involved--NCSoft and the would-be new developers (WBND?).

THOSE two parties are what matter in this, from a financial, corporate, business standpoint.  I agree with many others here that we must step back and let them work things out.

Best wishes to all involved at the bargaining table in this pursuit, on both sides.

And to Ironwolf: thank you, sir, for continuing your work.  Please try not to let the pressures from this community weigh you down.

Yes, no matter the outcome, Ironwolf has been awesome throughout this. :D

I did explain here that after looking through the various information - NCSoft did not close CoH due to malice.

It was exactly what they said - a business decision. It was done to free up resources to merge Nexon - 2 multi-billion dollar companies. CoH was just caught it the crosshairs as the game making the least amount of money for the company at the time. It should say something about the company that they have listened to all offers. They may not make it through to the man who finally decides - but they listen.

We caused a lot of pressure on the first sale effort and that pressure hurt the negotiations. The team now is saying this is what NCSoft does not want to happen again. It doesn't matter whether we agree or not - NCSoft holds all the cards. For them doing nothing is the easiest thing. I get the whole freedom of speech thing and love that freedom. I guess ask yourself, is having your say worth them not dealing with us as a community again?

for me, I just can't believe that. I saw the reports that said CoH was only 2% of their profits...and that GW's was less than that. There was more reason to close GW than CoH, espcially with GW 2 just launched and anticipation that their community may move over to that one in some capacity. They could have temporarily closed CoH and reopened after wards and you can say they've been listening to proposals, but I bet that has to do MORE with the back lash from us and stock price drops after closing us. Just look at the condition of the codes, tools, servers, and records after the sale, you said the team was made aware they didn't actually keep them in good condition and it doesn't sound AT ALL like they had ever intended to bring it back or even sell it, was neither stored NOR prepared for it. They could have done to CoH what they did to GW, but they didn't, it was still their choice to make and quite frankly I can understand they'd be nervous and worried about some sort of press of a current sale, but really that should give them pressure not to mess up and NOT sell then to stop a sale, the backlash from stopping yet another sale could be much worse for them.

Also they only closed CoH and I'm to believe that's all they needed to do to get ready for a merger? No other product line or game needed to be closed or go on break? Maybe closing it benefited them for the merger, but there's no way, at least for me that I'm going to believe that CoH was the only one that needed it, or that Paragon Studios, when they tried to buy themselves out, wouldn't have been a better option than what they chose, and their treatment of the code and customer data (as well as us, hell back when they closed the other 4 games I got free codes to play CoH and GW's everytime EVEN THOUGH I never played those other games they closed, this time all we got was a refund on current money spent and mostly silence), and we're also talking about a company not above lying and forging documents so...they can say what they want but for me actions speak louder than words, I just hope they finally do something right and just go through with this, that being said I wish there was something we could do about Facebook to quiet it down, I know our biggest concern was this info getting out into the public.
Please don't send blind requests in games to me, I learned to ignore them in CoX, no offense meant. (this is only here until I can figure out how to put it in my actual profile on here.)

I am very happy and will likely never use the Mod power. I want to hear what you all say - but it goes both ways, listen to each other as well.

Just as there was no single way to correctly play CoH - there is no single way to go through life. I don't go through life angry. I lost my first wife to cancer at age 31 and that changes you forever. I am far more patient than I used to be - in my youth I loved to fight and was damned good at it. I have learned only fight to protect someone weak or yourself if under threat.

Every single person here has a different personality and it can lead to this:

EDIT: Or discussing how Ironwolf will go mad with power. That is also acceptable.

Cool.  Been a while since I sent a "Congrats!" for dinging a level.  Congrats, Ironwolf!

And the Power Mad thing sounds pretty cool.  In my cartoon bubble, I see him swaggering and staggering with a whiskey bottle in his left fist.  A truly dangerous and mean drunk.  :)

[edit: Man, I read that and it came across like I think he's a mean guy and I certainly don't think that.  I'm very grateful for all your efforts!]

[edit redux: (waits for the anvil to fall on his head and the honor of the first one to be "Moderated" by IW.)]

There were several other things which happened at the same time. The big one was that NC Interactive was also shut down in this period.

Recall, NC Interactive was the branch which directly owned Paragon Studios.

Aye, I recall that. They closed one of their biggest American offices and their biggest American game at the time, which if you remember they couldn't sell in Korea the way they were GW's, Aion, or the others...I'm sure many things were going on, and they had many options to go through, but if I'm to believe they ever really took any sale seriously, the way they had never been ready to nor had the resources left over prepared for sale or reuse speaks much more volumes to me about real intent. I would love to hear what "reason" they had to hold out the last signer on their side from selling to Paragon Studioes. (it was my understanding everyone on both sides signed off on it, but ONE person on the NCSoft side and that they didn't decline, but rather held out til time ran out and it was too late to sign, who better to keep running and developing a game they never cared about than the people who made it and proved their hard work and skills for 8 years.)

I remember being able to spawn 6 fire imps and then an additional 6 with perma hasten. After soloing and having my butt handed to me for 31 levels, it was nice to have my minions devour purples while I sat there and giggled like a school girl.
Oh yeah...that's why the thought of leveling up all my Controllers again makes my head hurt....   ;D    Those early lvls...ykes...
