Neat, by Ironwolf being made the moderator, it makes his forum profile, and therefore "show posts" option easier to get to.

He's going to go mad with power! What have you done?!  He'll turn CoH into City of Ironwolves!

Every costume part is related to wolves and/or iron!  Wolf Armor is the only defense set!

What have you done

And the only melee set is Dual Irons! You run around with a clothes iron in each hand, steaming bad guys and neatly pressing them! For justice!

Maybe it's because I just watched "Warm Bodies", but I think if the game comes back the Necromancer Zombies should be updated with modern clothing ... or at least red hoodies. :D

I love Warm Bodies "There's a lot of ways to get to know a person. Eating her dead boyfriend's brains is one of the more unorthodox methods"

My first lvl 50 was a fire/fire tank dumpster diving was awesome, stacking badguys up and killing 10  guys with 1 single target hit was so op, hated when the reduced the agro number and put the fear on burn it totally ruined that character for me.

PS: I miss Firesword circle  ;D
Did they take that fear out of Burn at some point?   I thought I heard that.

Asking CS to stop applies to everyone else, too. Let's go back to reminiscing about how dumpster dive farming was OP.

EDIT: Or discussing how Ironwolf will go mad with power. That is also acceptable.
Well i never did dumpster farming, never seemed to pick the FotM while it still was the FotM, but i did farm some AE farming missions that were made for Fire Tankers. On my Night Widow, which wasn't the optimal choice, but it was amusing and occasionally challenging.

What i really want is to get the opportunity to play the game again, and i am willing to go to some lenghts to expedite that happening, whether it means quietly supporting the team, chipping in money, or even standing on a street corner with a sign that says, "Ask me about turtles." i have no idea how that last bit would be useful, but i would be willing to give it a shot if enough people thought it would help. On the gripping hand i was at a con yesterday with all the standard attendees carrying Free Hugs signs and the like scampering about and i wanted to make a sign that said, "Ask me about my utter indifference to your questions."
So far so good. Onward and upward!

I miss Foot Stomp on my Super Strength toons. I lovingly referred to the move as "Deathblender." Not even a visually spectacular move but it felt good to do... and also felt good when you joined a team of people not used to it or were struggling without a tank. Instant appreciation from your super peers.

Quote from: Golden Girl on July 13, 2014, 10:12:53 PMThat's only a problem if the item is destroyed when being thrown - if you're fighting in, say, a lab, then hurling bits of equipment shouldn't destroy them so that they become one use only items.
Excellent point, if the assets could last a few blows based on their perceived solidity compared to the solidity of the enemy it would certainly alleviate the problem, as I could then repeatedly smash some unfortunate gang members with a handy safe. I'd probably end up trying to position attacks so that the safe would end up in view of the next group and kind of drag it around with me companion cube style.

I'll also add that a large part of the issue is in the hands of the developers responsibly adding sufficient destructible / liftable / throwable assets to the environment. Unless the entire room ends up a vacant cube and even boards end up ripped out of the drywall then telekinesis / gravity / super strength throwing are being shorted in their potential destructive capacity. :) I trust and hope that successor projects like yours, CoT, and potentially CoH2 will get this aspect right.

I started too late to experience the full glory of fire/fire without aggro and target caps, though the stories about tankers herding all of Perez inspired the heck out of me.

That being said, one of the main "bread winners" on my second account was a fire/fire tank, and I loved her.  I never invested in her like I did other of my characters because she was so much fun already that going overboard with purples didn't seem needed.

They did indeed! They removed the Mag 50 "Afraid" and made the damage front-loaded, so it was better to drop it on a whole bunch then have it sit there ticking away with bigger damage over time.

I think it was after Power Proliferation that it became possible, but I remember when I made Blue Battler 2.0 as a Fire/Regen Scrapper. And then Blue Battle 3.0 (didn't want to pay to rename him when I forgot the R) was a FIRE/FIRE heroic Brute out of Praetoria.

I just LOVED Greater Fire Sword.  ;D

They also reduced the damage a fair bit, which was only reasonable since the original amount of damage it did wasn't.

You had me at "/EA"...

My SS/EA is the character I miss the most, and the one that would be hardest to re-build (got his Mids open right now...).

But it'd sure be fun trying!

Let me just say this. Every time that I find myself overwhelmed by the emotions and thoughts (positive or negative) related to this thread and ones elsewhere about the topic, I just watch the Unity video again and it puts everything back in perspective:

Well, it was reasonable in design, because it made things run away from it - so they'd get ticked with a bunch of little damage but run away from it and the rest of the ticks would be wasted.

It wasn't reasonable in practice, because it was so easy to get critters to stay in place for the whole duration if you had any sort of mezzing power. lol
