I was in a cable car once going 1000 feet over a gorge and a guy in the back organized all his friends to jump up and down at once to see scare their girl friends.  The car was well enough constructed that we didn't fall to our deaths.

If I could have, I would have pushed that guy out.

You sound like me, lol  ;D

I'm saying most of the players won't do that, even if they knew it might work in their favor. They're too worked up.

Notice how I haven't said that I'm doing any such thing. That's what other people here have said, all while saying I'm doing the same to them. Funny how that works, huh?

Hello,

Perhaps you could lead with a good example and take a step back. When more players that get worked up it will probably have negative effects on the business deal going on.
Ironwolf has said that the parties does not like the uprising. So could you please for the CoH Community calm down a Little :)

I also have personal opinions about it all but will not spit them out if it can have negative effects on getting the game back.

Also, we need to be friends here in this space. We all love CoH so lets share some love About the game instead :)

The mods should delete this entire thread and then forbid us from speaking about it on this forum ever again.

Agreed!
If I was a Jedi, there's a 100% chance that I'd use The Force inappropriately.

Thanks for being the happy pacifier. And I wasn't even looking at your avitar until AFTER I thought that.

So glad I have never had a Facebook account, guess I got better things to do than tell people I am eating toast and drinking tea every 15 mins ;)

It seems to me that a lot of people are confusing Psy's Gangdam Style video with a Korean business information film.
NCsoft hold all the aces....end of discussion.
If some immature toolbags are gonna stir it up on FB then there is little to be done other than pray it dies off sooner rather than later and that NCsoft don't see it or take it as a minority blowing off steam.
Funny how we have gone from the euphoria of Ironwolf's posts giving us hope to the depths of infighting and recriminations.
Best thing for everyone now is just keep quiet, keep it civil and just be patient....and who knows maybe in a couple of weeks we get an announcement that blows the bloody doors off this place...

We need a place to blow off all this steam. Some have better internal cooling mechanisms than others.

I think NCSoft has gotten their share of grief already. Let's all STFU about NCSoft and not derail this effort, m'kay? Please?

Then they should know to expect this kind of reaction and not be surprised by it

Sorry, but just this statement is just as ilinfrmed as you're accusing NC Soft of being.  They should just expect this sort of backlash... with the inference that they should just bend over, take it and like it.

Its a pretty safe bet that the execs don't really bother with what we're saying. By when the hate, scorn and vitrol start soiling over onto NC Softs  webpages, Korean papers, radio start picking up the bad mouthing (and there were a few that did). That's when the investors/shareholders take notice. The execs lose face, and yes while some of us will go "well they're too thin skinned..." in different cultures that is a very big deal.  And that CAN affect negotiations.
In the US and a lot of western countries, "shaming" a company can get them to change policies or practices. In Asia, that can lead to basically turtling and even more stubbornness to adhere to their ways as they try not to admit they were ever wrong

So drawing attention to this deal, from that standpoint, can hurt things.  They do remember what it was like last tine, and they might must prefer not to go through that again

Remember people - it costs nothing to be polite, but in this case, it could cost everything to be rude.

QFT, and this applies here as well as on Facebook.  We're all on the same side here, and no one has made threats or given ultimatums.  The new team has asked a favor of us, and out of respect for them and what they are trying to do, we should do our best to comply and encourage others to do the same.

I don't believe he is trolling..and calling someone a troll is neither productive or needed.

All I will say that I well remember the person in question's posting style from back in the day, and even on the original forums he was very aggressive and always 110% in the right, no matter what and he was not going to listen to anyone no matter how much sense they made... because he was always always right AND DONT YOU DARE QUESTION HIM EITHER.

This is fine when what he does only impacts him, but when it might impact all of us then I start thinking he needs to dial it back down to a 1 or 2, from 10 on the volume dial. But what do I know.

Haha, yes I was treated with such friendship and understanding when my own feelings did not fall in step with the others. I'm sure happy that no one tried to deny my sincerity and call me a liar! Such virtuous heroes we have here.

Actually, now that you mention it, there ARE some opinions I have about this entire affair that I haven't shared with anyone here. Of course, you only have my word to go on for that.

But no, this is not me being "worked up". I'm sitting here shaking my head at the behavior of others who are so paranoid about getting the game back that they're willing to throw their fellow players under the bus. That's... that's neither indicative of a friendly community nor rather heroic.

Or perhaps, they should just ban YOU, since you seem to have a real problem with self control. Everyone else here seems to be keeping their hair on.

But what do I know.

You and people like you are trying to grab the wheel of the bus and get us *all* upside down in a ditch. See what I did there....? How heroic is what you are doing? You may help bollix things up for everyone! Thank you.....NOT

Yeah, see... I'm not saying that the company offering to buy CoH from NCSoft should not be trying all they can to be polite and courteous. Of course they should! That only makes sense. And I'm rather certain that's exactly what they're doing. While the behavior of the players--who right now are mere bystanders--should be noted, it should not color or detract from these dealings. If it does, then I'm saying that NCSoft weren't serious about it in the first place.

Quote from: Ironwolf on July 13, 2014, 08:03:46 PMIt matters to them. We need to respect that. They did not say go away this is too much hassle - they said - can you ask the community to calm down a little? Is what they have asked so very much? I truly am asking.

How can we (who are not doing the yelling) help, Ironwolf? I'm willing and able to do whatever I can, I just don't know what exactly that would be.

Hello I hope you are fine :)

As I see it, if both parties does not appreciate the uprising(correct Word?) and ask us politely to remain a Little calm until when the deal is being made why cant we respect it? I mean, if we show respect it most probably has positive effects on the deal and will increase our chance of getting the game back. I fail to see how we then are throwing our friends under the bus? Because all we want is get the game back.

Best Regards Anders
