Yeah, your shortened wording implies it's any video with that sort of title, but really it's anything from today onwards. I did a search for older things, and while there are some that are scammy from years ago, they link to dead sites or other youtube videos (so far).

I'm also trying not to directly name the videos, in case someone inadvertantly goes looking for them.

Yeah, did my best but the 140 character limit hurt. Posted a followup linking to your earlier post.

I saw that, and edited my post to link to Titan Icon.

Not sure if this matters, as I'm not sure about the over all community feelings or rules, but if that's linking publicly, should we worry if NCSoft finds out about ICON?
Please don't send blind requests in games to me, I learned to ignore them in CoX, no offense meant. (this is only here until I can figure out how to put it in my actual profile on here.)

Tubbius

People putting up videos claiming the game is back?

Other folks putting unrealistic pressures on the company who might or might not sell the game?

Ok, people of the Internet.  Let's allllll back down and let the corporate world do its work so we don't have people BLOW this for all of us.  :(

I doubt it's enough of a reason for them to bother whipping the Lawyers out.
"Oh no, they're making costumes in a game we shut down and don't care about!"
If it was a server, that would be a different story.

Plus, I've a feeling if they care that much about it...They already know about ICON anyways.

I want to echo that thought *specifically* directed to NCSoft, on the chance any of them are reviewing this wildly spamming thread. They are willingly coming to the table after all this time, making a contact available, offering a reasonable price, and having to collect and provide an accounting of whatever material components of CoX remain. None of this is necessarily easy or comfortable to do considering time, history, and the likelihood that many of those involved there aren't likely to even be familiar with the product anymore.

As far as I'm concerned it is a classy thing to do and has significantly and positively impacted my views of their company.

Absolutely agreed. A big thank you to ALL involved, if only to let you know how much we appreciate this deal even being CONSIDERED.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

*EDIT*
As for Facebook, my suggestion is to find out who the mods of all those channels are and politely request that they (and their mod teammates) start snipping any thread that has to do with this effort.

Wait, are you saying George Lucas is one of the investors trying to buy City of Heroes?*

Yes. And he's going to keep tweaking the game every couple of years to "fix" all the little things he didn't think looked right the first time.

Recluse will be Statesman's father. Penny's full name will be revealed as Penelope JJ Binks. The ghost of War Witch will be changed to look like Hayden Christiansen. The Rikti will shoot first.

I think we can be assured that they know about it. The legality has been discussed here: http://www.cohtitan.com/forum/index.php/topic,8963.msg124626.html#msg124626)

Now, if they had released a stand alone character / costume creator at some point, then there might be an issue. But that never got done, unfortunately.

That's what I'd like... I'm sort of afraid that the basic game mechanics would change, which would change the whole feel of the game. The "feel" of CoH is something I haven't been able to get in any other game since.

I'd love for CoH to get "ported" (in a manner of speaking--not in the same sense that console games get ported to the PC) to an engine that's manageable and able to be expanded upon. What I DON'T want to happen is what happens with some sequels/games when a developer decides to add "features" that change how the game is played. A great example of this is Mass Effect 1 to Mass Effect 2... The entire control scheme was changed. It had a different feel to it, and everyone had to "re-learn" how to play it.

Now, yes, I realize that this can "improve" some things... But, there is a LOT of heated debate about what is an "improvement" and what is not.

Some people might think playing a superhero game with a "charging" system (like, say, CO) is an "improvement" and allows you to also play with a controller... But, I would prefer the system that CoH had in place. Changing that power activation game mechanic would essentially change the feel of City of Heroes.

So here's my point of view on what CoH Reborn or CoH2 would need to add or have.

CoH was great, I have yet to find any MMO I like more.  That being said. Ways to improve without changing what's wonderful:

1.  More immersive and interactive environment:  My wife loved the ability of interact with the environment in WoW and that was one her biggest complaints about CoH which she tried it.
2.  Bars actually selling drinks that make the characters "drunk".  Another complaint from the wife about what WoW has that CoH didn't
3.  More environments:  I loved the city, but I also Loved Croatoa, it actually became my favorite zone: I grew up in Ohio and my favorite season is fall.  Anyway.  If City of Heroes became more like World of Heroes there could be missions in deserts, forests of all sorts, different cities with different architectures: it's closer to the sky's the limit here.  And the more environments the more there is to like and the more people will find something they like.
4.  This is my all time favorite wish list idea:  I always wanted to have my other heroes in my roster play as "companions/pets" .  Example:  I'm playing my mind/kin controller: Prime Knight.  And I feel like soloing, because I have like 30 minutes to play, but I've got a mission that requires at least another player for an AV or an Elite Boss, that's just a little too Elite.  What do I do?  I summon my Claws/SR scrapper to help put out some extra damage.  If you ever played SWTOR or STO: something similar, but using the built in pet controls/ AI I could live with.  With the side kicking system any pet/companion hero can play with any other hero and the dev's can balance the mobs for an extra player if needed, but honestly, it sounds just fun to play with a team of all my characters at once.  And think of all the crazy fun if there's a team of 4 actual players each with their own favorite two characters on the field.
5.  Fun idea to add to #4:  Allow the play to switch back and forth between characters on the field.

I've thought of that too, maybe in terms of the way Guild Wars did it. Need tank for your team but can't find another player, you could add an NPC, such as someone from the Freedom Phalanx or one of the NPC heroes from Mayhem's or even the Raising Stars to join. They do something similar with Henchmen and Heroes, they even eventually added a way to use your own characters as heroes for your other characters.

Quote1.  More immersive and interactive environment:  My wife loved the ability of interact with the environment in WoW and that was one her biggest complaints about CoH which she tried it.
Yes. That'd be totally awesome. As long as it doesn't involve harvesting things. I hated harvesting in...All MMOs besides CoH.

Quote2.  Bars actually selling drinks that make the characters "drunk".  Another complaint from the wife about what WoW has that CoH didn't
CoH is T for Teen. So, no booze.

Quote3.
Definitely...Maybe some kind of Moon Base. City after city after city zone did get a little repetitive, Which is why we got Croatoa.

Quote5.  Fun idea to add to #4:  Allow the play to switch back and forth between characters on the field.
I think most players would get a little overwhelmed with this. It works well in games like Star Wars: knights of the Old Republic because the combat isn't as fast paced...and you can pause the game.

They did, kind of. The City of Hero costume creator which was released to promote the later-canceled Korean version.

All of this would be wonderfully valid - IF WE HAD THE GAME. Right now you have a team who for the first time in 2 years is able to actually get through to make a deal.

They are asking everyone to relax for a while and let them get the deal DONE. NCSoft is the one who is not liking it.

Oh God, we can't let it fall apart again  :'(

Just as long as in the process we don't lose what we've been trying so hard to get back. Nothing ruins something good more than trying to fix what isn't broken. Hopefully they will flex their creative muscles with new powers, but leave the existing ones alone.
On that much I can agree.

1. Yes! DCUO allows picking up things and chucking them, and speeding up the sides of buildings. Fun!

2. Regarding the "T for Teen" thing - I was going to say "STO does it" but they're not rated by the ESRB anymore. But it's family friendly. It doesn't have to be "drunk", it can just be something implied, or fun - in STO the one drink makes your character do a silly dance (or something, as I recall).

3. This is a good idea. If CoH2 is not set in Paragon City, I would say make it another city (west coast?) or make it more of a global thing. That way, you can set it in the same time period as CoH, without it being subject to a "better graphics, but it's the same game" syndrome. PLUS, you can avoid being forced to explain what happened to all the CoH characters, if the game were to be set in a "3 years later" Paragon City. This also allows for ANY environment you can think of.

4. If you look at the Lore AMA, they were doing something similar: http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Lore_AMA/Sorted#347 They were going to have villains be able to call up old contacts whose arcs you'd run, and those people would assist you. It'd be super cool to do with your own characters!

5. ...That seems like maybe a good idea, but probably awkward. If you want to play as a character, log on to that character.

Also, I made a thread to address the YouTube scams: http://www.cohtitan.com/forum/index.php/topic,10062.0.html
