Take care VV and DONT rush it.  I had the flu, went back to work 3 days later (cause teachers cant be sick or so we are told) then it became bronchitis.  Two weeks of that and then I got the stomach bug, probably because I didn't use common sense and rest from the flu in the first place.

So hugs, hugs, hugs and lots of chamomile tea.

Because Mercedes caught the flu.

This is influenza, not stomach flu.  I have been:

Coughing up lung, to the point that at one point I thought I had torn diaphragm muscles.  They're still sore and it hurts to laugh, cough, and breathe.
Exhausted merely by taking a shower to the point I have to lie down.
Sleeping about 12 hours (or more) at a stretch.
Pushed to the limit to get my paying work done.

I'm guessing it's going to be at least another week before I'm over this, so please be patient.

Take some Antioxidants and drink plenty of Orange Juice.

How dare you take personal time off to get better! Blasphemy! WORK!

(Disclaimer: Sarcasm. Take your time, and get better soon VV!)

I'd like to send best wishes to the OP, but I'd also like to remember everybody here that hugging should not be done IRL with flu clinging on somebody involved in the hug. That's how it becomes an epidemic ;)
Yeeessss....

I'm partial to the Pictish cure.  Stare down the virus until it surrenders.

Thank god I'm immune to the Flu...

(Seriously. Been alive 21 years, still haven't caught it. Last year, when I thought I had it, I went to the doctor and he specifically told me I had caught an odd virus. NOT the flu.)

Ironwolf

Pedialyte popsicles for whenever you are sick.

I get a flu shot every year. Well, one it's required for any gov. employee that work as part of the health organization, although I really dont deal with patients directly, it probably easier to implement "everyone in this organization, which by definition is a hospital, to get a flu shot" instead of trying to figure out how often each employee come into contact with patients. By definition I  only deal with patients there is a food borne illness outbreak and chemical/biological/viral/radiation incident, but usually that mean something of the excrement type has hit the fans. And with the second one, (chem/bio/rad/virus "like smallpox, anthrax, ebola etc attack"), the flu is the least of the worries.
