Financial question...

...of a sort. I'm figuring that the folks at PWE probably don't think to look here.

I have an LTS account and a free account. The LTS account earns zen every month, and I'd like to move some of it to my poorer toons on the free account. Is there any way that I can do that?

If I'm wrong, and posting a "Yes; here's how" response on here is too hazardous, let me know, and I'll supply an email address. Thanks in advance for any help.

There's no way to directly move zen from one account to another, unfortunately. You can, however, buy things like vehicles or lockbox keys and trade those to the other account just fine.

There's lots of options. It depends on what your goal is.

For example, you could take your monthly LTS Zen stipend, and when you have enough to buy 10 keys @90 Zen each, do so, then give those keys to your free account and let it sell/trade those keys for 100G each.

The free account could then buy, say, Q boxes and then trade the Q for Zen.. or buy and do whatever they want with the G's.

No big secrets. All legit. CO has a pretty cool economy even if I have been on the short end of the stick a couple times with it due to saving up Q and it being devalued.

Keys are pretty hot since awhile too. They should evaporate pretty quickly either in the AE or by auctioning them or by trading them for whatever you want straight up.

It just got less cool. They took the questionite boxes away from Poe, Tulzorgat and Cemetiere. You don't even get them when you turn in the completed mission. Someone said something about a bug making them drop more Q than they should have been giving, so maybe it'll come back after a bug fix. I'm not holding my breath, though.

I think this sucks for the people that used to enjoy farming Q this way. Nerfs suck. Like when they nerfed my Unleashed.. I mean, the Dex tree.

The only way I can see this affecting me is that my Q will become more valuable due to there being a smaller supply. Zen seems a lil down already @ 313Q per Zen instead of ~ 330, and, we have the easiest Rampage going atm too so I would normally expect the price of Zen to be up.

If that lvl 10ish Poe mish that gives Q at the end was repeatable by dropping/re-run then it was probly due to get the nerf bat.

Doesn't look like it. In the Release Notes: 05/08/14, Cryptic stated:

QuoteBug Fixes
•Fixed a bug where some enemies were dropping too many Questionite Boxes.
•Removed Questionite Box drops from Baron Cimetiere (in alerts), Kevin Poe (in missions), Tulzorgat

Furthermore, when I ran a Nemesis Grab Alert today, there was no Q box after defeating the nemesis. Evidently, nemesis Q boxes were considered "a bug" that has been "fixed".  :(

CO players are "discussing" (i.e., voicing displeasure/outrage) in this forum thread: Some enemies were dropping too many Q boxes.. Players report that nemeses in the Nemesis Confrontation mission do not drop Q boxes now either.  :(

Oh, well, reducing the amount of Q that I can earn will reduce the amount of items that I buy in the Zen store. ('Cuz I exchange Q for Zen. Given the paltry amount of development in CO, I refuse to pay cash for Zen.)

Xev

I mostly just do dailies and Rampages for Q so this is all still kinda in my favor. I was even complaining about too many Nemi Alerts ruining the value of Q awhile back although I think taking Q away from them is kinda lame. I mean, they were just a cool random event (when they weren't back to back for 1hr+..) before.

That's going to probably be a big hit to teaming up if they take Q boxes away from Nemcons. Nemcons are one of the most auctioned for team events in the game. I'm guessing that was due to the Q..

Super Firebug is getting free key money from his LTS so he's covered unless all he did was Nemcons and Poes. I opened up 1 Q box recently that I got from a lockbox (that I paid 100G to open) when I was collecting Drifter salvage and it was the same as running 60... yes, 60 alerts for Patil. 40k Q with a *click*.

Anyway, yeah, pillow's calling I gotta skip the forum links for now but I bet there is a lot of upset, some super upset, people. Hopefully they at least don't ruin Nemcons in the end. Sorry guys.

Todo, seriously. With the number of your toons/costumes/toons-costumes posts/and knowledge you have of the game..

Going to a movie is 2 hours to watch and costs..?

There are ways to get subbed for < the price of 1 movie per month.

If there is a nice gap in the Zen stone you can buy/sell to yourself, at least you have both your Q and your Zen. Just swapped locations.
Playing the market gap you can discount the zen:Q cost too. Of course some one can buy out your trade from under you.

How would that work... On toonWhoWantsZen I could auction for X amount of Zen @ whatever real low price that no one else chose. And then on toonWhoHasZen I could put up my Zen for that real low price and hope it zips to toonWhoWantsZen.

Assuming I was brave enough... Would that work?

Could always try it starting with real small amounts. Like 1 zen is what I would do hehe. Zen..my precious..  And I would try more than once with small amounts just to see if my luck held.

Atm I would buy those keys on sale!

General Idiot

I believe if you list below the current lowest price, it automatically fills it at the lowest price.

Samurai Cowgirl

Well not 'any price' you have to set a specific price.

If the high offer 'buy zen now' price is 300, and the low offer price is 250, you must pick any price in the gap 251 to 299.
Then guy A sells his zen for 253 to guy B who buys at 253, and voila the system has a compatible buy-sell pair and the trade goes

You still gotta grind the Q, and you are still dictated by market price.
I'm not too sure how good this tip is now that you can't grab Q  easy, and the price is super high. But it does, or did, work

The price for Q <-> Zen is ~ what it's been since the new rampages and Q boxes hit the scene.

Q is definitely not expensive vs. Zen compared to what it had been before then or even what is was yesterday or last week.

I still think I would start with 1 Zen..

>>

Why can't I set the low offer price?

Why can't I take toonWhoHasQ and have him put up 100,000 Q to buy 2000 Zen? Then take toonWhoHasZen and have him put up his 2000 Zen for 50 Q each?

General Idiot

Because when you place the second offer selling 2000 zen for 50 Q each, the exchange won't fill it from the 50 Q offer you put up. It'll fill it from the highest offer available, even though you asked for less.

Xev

..It won't hit the 50 Q offer until every offer above it has been filled.

So the idea is, have toonWhoHasZen puts up his Zen for a high price that no one else presently wants to pay and then have toonWhoHasQ buy it.

For example if the Buy Now price is 330Q for 1 Zen and toonWhoHasZen puts up his Zen @ a rate of 1 Zen per 363Q and then logs on toonWhoHasQ to buy it, things should work out. And even if they don't, they do. Due to toonWhoHasZen can only sell his Zen if someone pays a (currently) stupidly high price.

OK, I get it! Now. I think.. Duh.

Thing is though.. He doesn't want to trade Q to his Zen guy, he wants to trade Zen to his Q guy and by doing things this way he has to pay for the Zen just as if he was buying it from you or me - only difference is, his Zen guy, that appears to be rich already, gets Q.

Hope you bought those keys that were on sale! hehe

370 Q is the current price for 1 Zen.

From at least 1 year of 200 Q for 1 Zen.

Glad I'm not farming my first FF..
